Noticed she said "its not what I wanted" She wanted the bigger home, different class of people, better cars, bigger and better everything. Knowing that the Emergency ward was his passion and felt it was his calling, helping people that needed it but couldn't afford it. None of that actually matters, its only his job, talent and hard work.
What does he get for all the years of hard work, no sleep and doing his best to give the family what they need and want, a cheating POS.
Nothing like a good woman standing behind and supporting you.

That’s a somewhat uncharitable characterization of the situation. He had the choice to be home with his family more and he chose the adrenaline high of the hospital work. She was selfish for wanting to go shopping and should have been faithful but he’s not without blame. And she clearly was full of contrition and stayed faithful to him when she no longer had any reason to be. There are plenty of horrible wives on display on this channel but a lot of you guys are merciless to the ones who made a bad decision and then are genuinely remorseful.

She was well aware of his desires and passion and what he wanted to do. I guess if he was a OTR truck driver, a corporate salesman, a iron worker, commercial fisherman, pipeline installer, oil rig worker or any of the other hundred jobs that keep you away from home she would have cheated also.
Personally I will never (I didn't ) forgive a woman that cheats. Being genuinely remorseful is of little consequence after a woman gives herself to another. There is nothing more disrespectful a woman can do to a man than give her body to another.

@@randysmith9636 I don’t disagree with really anything you said. The problem is, and he admits it himself, he chose his job over his family. He was presented with an opportunity to make more money and be home more with his family, while having more energy for his family and he chose to stay at the hospital. It doesn’t excuse her actions but he is not without blame. I would venture to guess, I have a job that keeps me away from home, if presented with the opportunity for more money and more time at home, those who feel the necessity to be away from home to provide for their families, almost all would choose to be home for a higher wage.

For better or worse is part of the contract. Forsake all others isn't negotiable. He wasn't being selfish either. Yes, he liked the thrill but it was due to helping those less fortunate. Condoning cheating because she was bored is a pitiful excuse.

OMG ! The beginning of this story gave me flashbacks of my motorcyle accident where I feared losing one of my legs altogether. Being able to take a peek at it while laying on the ground i saw it was a twisted and bloody mess. The emergency room and surgeons available were only able to put on an external fixator until a qualfied surgeon could be in town to try and rebuild my leg. The doctors in my hospital room expressed thier scepticism and told me of my other injuries (both scapula broken , three fractured vertebrae , both clavicle broken in multiple places , three ribs broken and the leg had a crushed femur and crushed patella) I was actually fortunate to be alive acording to them. The fixator kept my leg in place until surgery could be performed. After several surgeries and lots of metal pieces and bone grafts i was finally sent home and to rehab. After several months in the hospital , a couple of years in a wheelchair and painful rehab i was finally able to walk with a cane. I still require that cane as my patella (knee) will occasionally lock up and without that cane i would simply fall down. I at least can still get around but , i still appreciate the orthopedic surgeon and emergency doctors and the work they do.I just cant go through the metal detector at the airport now. I can look down and see two legs thanks to them.

There was a similar story that ended in the opposite direction of no contact with the spouse. The question arises if the doctor was believable in his thought process. Root cause to his suffering was her cheating and in his state of mind of pulling a lot of stressful hours working, he definitely lost it. He suffered 5 years in the most inhospitable environment due to her triggering his violence. Don't believe his logic. It was totally farcical and seriously beta minded. No man suffering so much for being betrayed would go back to rebuilding a relationship with a cheater. However, co-parenting and remaining aloof to the ex is plausible at best. Never go back once betrayed, no matter the promises and apologies. Remember, words are as cheap as they can be said.... It is a story to ponder what one would do if faced with such a situation.

OP is pretty wimpy when it comes to his son. I understand that him and his wife may not have a future but to turn his back on his son is crappy, his son didn't cheat on him so why abandon him.

Lmao. I use to visit a small town in Wyoming when I was a kid. One year, in the late 1960s we arrived to find out that the doctor and the vet got into a drunken fight in a bar and one killed the other. The other was never locked up. Reason, the. The town would have no medical services. This place also had a legal whore house and I purchased blasting caps as a free range 4 year old. Great times. Lol

It's a pretty mixed up storyline, because I failed to understand why he blamed himself for his reaction to his wife's infidelity. No one ever really knows how they're going to react after witnessing such a thing. It ends with them working towards getting back together as a family, but it doesn't make that clear, that they did in the end...🤷
All in all, it's a decent story, having appeared to end positively for all 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Many seems to forget that we are humans, so imperfect. Anyone can have a weakness when vulnerable. That doesn't excuse anything but puts things in perspective. As far as I'm concern Carmine's, jugement is good, fair, he is able to accept, digest & process in accord /w his beleif. (even STBX share the same mind patern)

The MC of this story is extrenely dense and has a childish black and white view of the world.
Its like the only thing he operates on is 0 or 1, is it on or off. Even after being explained to, that he messed up, but it was out of character, he still chose the hardest path to redemption, even tho he didnt really need redemption, and hust need a bit of mental help

Well, good story but you are dragging it out in entirely too long to the point where you’re really starting to get boring you repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat to the point where you’re taking all the drama and fun out of it let’s get on with it. I’m really at the point where about ready to shut it off due to the boredom!
