I feel your pain @Amusement Insiders I recently lost my mother this past year in 2020 due to covid her not being able to exercise and couldn’t take water out during dialysis . Suddenly got very sick and lost her in the hospital because she got to a point of no return like no way of saving her as her liver was failing and her kidneys were already gone because it took her so long to get the liver transplant. She ended up catching some sort of infection that she couldn’t fight off and started bleeding from the inside her whole body and had low blood pressure as well as on a ventilator and a lot of medications to try to bring her back to life but to no avail in the ICU
Former ride operator here! You explanations were spot on!! Don't think I could have said it any better!! One thing you didn't mention, is that the ride operators are trained to call a ride down if they hear or see anything out of the ordinary. I had to do that several times in the time I worked there. Just another aspect as to the desire to have the safest rides around! I think this video was needed! Thanks for doing it!
GP literally don't know that rides are totally safe and the ride is functioning as they are. They're literally thinking that manufacturers, Canada's Wonderland, and Cedar Fair don't know what they're doing, but they do. Rides are programmed to e-stop when the computer think there's an error, and it's supposed to do that. The manufacturers are not stupid, but I think the GP likes to think they are, which is a shame. Now I know they don't know things that professionals about these things do know, but it's not good to give the park a bad reputation that it doesn't deserve. Also, I love the simplified explanation of a block section that you provided :D I think ElToroRyan can give you more lessons on block sections *wink wink*
On Leviathan in 2019 the train stopped at the top of the lift hill because someone had their phone out. We were only stuck there for 30 seconds but when I got off I saw someone call someone and say that the ride broke down. Another time in 2018 I went to Darien Lake and a young kid said his seatbelt unbuckled when riding Predator. We had to wait more than 10 minutes for them to check the train and give the go ahead to load the train again. That’s the only Story’s that I have.

Thanks for bringing light to this issue and educating everyone! Wonderland really does prioritize safety, so there’s honestly nothing to worry about when you see stuff like this.
Canada’s Wonderland is very safe, I went on Yukon striker 6 times in a row on Thursday the 22nd (because of single rider line) and went on soooo many other rides of course including behemoth and leviathan too and they’re so safe. My happy place is always safe 🎢
I've been to Canada's Wonderland 3 times already with my friends this summer and everything was running perfectly normal all 3 times. No one was in danger and no one was complaining. Everyone was enjoying their time there.
I think that it is perfectly safe. There are so many safety mechanisms and years of plannings that go to the rides and roller coasters. It is just some rare occasion and they probably won’t happen again. Like enthusiasts always say, it is more dangerous to drive to the park then to be there. If you don’t feel safe, don’t ride it. Also, these online articles over exaggerate the situation and scare of the gp. Simple as that.Great video!!!!! Touched o. Some really great points and ur give away is on point.
As a former employee, I can't say enough that Wonderland is probably one of the safest theme parks in the world. There are multiple checks at start up daily being done by maintenance and ride operators. The ride restraints, e-stops, dispatch and other systems are tested and signed off on. For Rollercoasters another important safety feature is called the block system. 2 trains cannot occupy the same block at the same time. For example, wild beast has 2 blocks A and B. Block A is the station until about half way up the lift hill. And block B is the rest of the lift hill until the 2nd set of breaks right before the station. If thr ride operator doesn't bring the train into the station before the other train reaches half way up thr lift hill, the train on the lift hill will stop as the computer detects that there's already a train in block B and it will not allow another one. All Rollercoasters use this type of block system as part of their safety feature. Just some info for anyone who is interested
I have never wanted to see this video posted so badly thank you! I hate how people are saying wonderland is not safe. I hope this video helps De bunk all the false information.
My gosh, I'm really looking forward to your giveaway! Thank you for all you've done on your channel over the seasons. I've learned so much about Wonderland and what to expect.
I did all 4 things for the giveaway. And I just wanted to say that when I went to Wonderland this week it was extremely safe, and I want to thank you for spreading the truth about these rumours of the rides being “unsafe” or “broken” because it upsets me to see them.
I swear on the behemoth mine popped down two clicks (I’m really small and skinny) I don’t think I could’ve fallen out, but man when you feel that going down a drop, my heart sank. I had my hands up and I felt myself fly up. I held on and was having a panic attack. Didn’t tell anyone until the ride stopped but man I thought I was going to die. I will forever ride closer to the front of the ride
I am going to Wonderland on Thursday and I am sooooo excited. Lots of people are giving hate towards Wonderland but they shouldn't be doing that at all. Wonderland is doing their best to help others and keep people safe.
i’ve been watching your videos for a while since ive known i was going to wonderland this year, big fan of your channel and a big thanks for making this video!!
We're going to Canada's wonderland for the first time on Monday. So excited. I have missed/ignored all the negative reviews. Going in with an open mind, lots of patience, lots of water and sunscreen and a smile on my face.
I feel so bad for your father, Canada's wonderland is also a big pat of my life so if one of my last memories with my father was there.. I don't really know what I would do😔
Great Video, I know people that have asked me why I go to a place with dangerous rides after seeing articles like those claiming the potential dangers at Wonderland. The real problem with "Clickbaite" on social media is that a lot of people will read the headline and beilvie it be true, even if the article (just like this video) is actually saying the oposit of the headline. You know that there will be "Karens" that will be those who do not read or watch beyond a headline and will promote it along with their essencial oils.
At Cedar Point back in summer of '03, I had what I call 'bouncing lapbar' on Wildcat & Gemini. It was locked, but it bounced a bit during the ride. I was weirded out at first, but loved it afterwards.
I can’t explain how thankful I am for this video. I love Canada’s Wonderland and it sucks to see all these Canadian pages hate on it. I will be sure to share this video on posts that cause people to question their safety and IM DEFINITELY ENTERING THAT GIVEAWAY!!!
a couple of days ago, I went on the MInebuster and someone was vlogging infront of us. When we were going up the lift hill.. they stopped the ride for our safety. (But let me tell you.. I absolutely hate getting stuck on the lift hill on the Minebuster because it goes froward and then backwards).
Also the same year (2005) an international employee was operating the ride Chaos when the restraint came open and the passenger fell out, luckily it was when her gondola was coming down close to the ground and the seat rotated and she fell out.
liked and shared on my facebook page....love watching your guys videos...I'm not a huge ride person but I am planning on getting on more rides (probably starting next year)...I am really hoping I can run into you guy one day at the park (i'm going on the 16th...maybe that'll be the day)....keep sharing these wonderful videos and ty for doing them. :) p.s. I would really love to win some amusement insiders merch.
My seat belt came undone on YS when checked by ride operator the other day. We looked at each other with a surprised looks and laughed. He said that’s why we check everything lol.
I went to Canada's Wonderland last week, and I'm going again on the 29th. A few months ago, I was convinced it wouldn't open back but your channel kept me hopeful. Thank you
There was a serious life changing injury on Sol Loco a while back, 2001. As a former ride operator, I can confirm the safety checks with the ride operators riding the ride or maintenance doing daily checks. As for the loose articles, I once had someone's Docs Martins fly off on Top Gun (Flight Deck) and hit someone in the head, and that lady was in a lot of pain. Also The thunder and lightening stoppage is a 25 km radius of the park. As much as people complain about Wonderland, it's one of the safest parks in North America, and I've been to a lot of them. (Got in free to all the Paramount Parks, when Paramount owned Wonderland)
I love wonderland! I love the energy, rides, food, games, swimming, smells and even the sounds. There's always something special about being in a theme park hearing the screaming people on rides, hearing the birds fighting over food lol, hearing the roller coasters running on the rails. It's definitely my happy place. And the best place for my family and friends making memories ❤
I’m subscribed, I liked this, I shared this on Twitter a few days ago and commenting a second time now. You are amazing and respectful and you deserve all the success! I was supposed to be at wonderland today for the 4th time this year but I unfortunately had a eye surgery (posted on my Twitter and Instagram @chelseyanne25) so I couldn’t go today anymore even though my eye is getting better, I can’t take that risk and I’m taking eye drops until Monday. But I am going Thursday next week for the 4th time and I’m excited again :)
Ok as someone who worked at the lumberjack ride group (I met you at the park once you know who I am...I appeared in one of you testing videos) From what i know the day that ride was stuck the E stop was engaged but the ride didnt come down... I spoke to one of the guys from maintenance and he told me a part of the of the mechanical mechanism broke and they had to go under the ride and release (Break) it manually.... just saying
RE: Operators stopping rides - One of my cousins was visiting from overseas one summer, and he decided to pull his camera out when we were on the lift hill on Minebuster. They stopped the lift TWICE (because, for some reason, he tried to bring it out again after putting it away the first time). I'd say he didn't get it because he was from overseas, but, quite frankly, with smartphones now being ubiquitous, and the number of times we now hear "put your phone/camera away" these past few years... Some people just don't think about the potential outcomes.
Oh! And this video has now made me wonder... What happens at the park in the event of a power outage? I assume they have backup generators and such, but I can't help but be curious about the systems they've got to keep everything running.
@@JewishMusicToronto if the blackout lasts more than a few minutes they’d probably have to evac the park. I know that’s the policy for most places indoors but idk.
@@JewishMusicToronto And if you're talking about the restraints and electricity--they are designed to require current to UNlock (ie, locked mechanically). After that, there is a mechanical/manual override on some trains when in the station.
@@macgyveriii2818 I was just asking about the rides themselves, not the individual trains or their subcomponents. In other news, enjoyed my 5th visit to the park this year a little earlier today.
Literally i remember being in the line for leviathan and it stopped and everybody was like “yOoOoO iTs BrokENNnN” and i just sighed and mumbled “itS noT bRokNe It’s a SafEtY FeatUre”
The girl in front of me on Vortex yesterday threw a fit because her restraint would wiggle. Screaming she didn’t feel safe. After some explaining, and being completely stapled, she rode and had a great time.
After seeing the whole thing about rides getting stuck trending, I'm so glad you made a video covering this. Hoping to go back soon, but poor anxious me is scared of such malfunctions.
Just bought a seasons pass for the first time ever. Went last week for the first visit this year and felt completely safe on all the rides we rode. My only complaint is they need to open more funnel cake shops. We couldn’t find any open all day.
Pro tip: They put the recipe up! We've been making them at home now! Search "Funnel" on their Facebook page. Posted on July 16, 2020. There's a printable version. Conversions for you: 56g of cornstarch is about 1/2cup. 100g jam is about 1/3 cup. 200g of sugar is about 200mL. 400g flour is about 2.5 Cups. 52g sugar is about 4 tbsp.
I spent most summer's in my childhood at Canada's Wonderland. We have pictures of my dad and I or my sister stuck (and I was super little at the time) on Blauer Enzin which is now the Thunder run because of a storm. Back in those days they gave us all Wonderland rain ponchos for free. I can't tell you the number of times I got stuck on the Mind Buster because of an emergency stop being triggered due to wind or even the attendant accidentally hitting the e-stop button (the attendant even went on the loud speaker to tell us that he accidentally hit the button in effort to settle those on the lift hill panicking because we stopped). It really never phased us because Dad always said the rides stop if they need to keep us safe and was working as intended. I have never questioned Wonderland's safety, even after some of the accidents elsewhere (e.g. the smiler at Alton in the UK) and really wish ppl would stop tick-tocking click bait videos about the park like it's a death trap. After the tragety at the West Edmonton Mall in the 80s, Canada developed some of the most rigorous safety standards in the world when it comes to coaster/ride safety.
I went to wonderland Monday and they have a decent amount of protocols with the amount of people there! I felt fine the whole time all the ride I went on had been fine just blacklot stunt coaster when I went on we had stalled I guess I could say on the break part before the tunnel took about 10ish minutes to get us moving again! Could have been worst 😅 coming from out of province I relied on all your recent videos to figure out how I would plan out my visit! 🤗
Oh my goodness I’m so excited for your giveaway! Thank you for everything you’ve ever been doing on your channel. Seeing a notification every morning for a Canada’s wonderland video brings be joy :) ❤️
I would think that a lot of people's complaints about their restraints coming undone may just be the "seatbelt" part of the restraint, like the extra buckle on over-the-shoulder B&M restraints (like on floorless coasters or inverts)
I'm waiting till next season to go to wonderland, I miss it so much & I can't wait to go again, your channel has helped me get through quarantine are I really appreciate you guys so much.

Great video! I’ve been to wonderland three times this season. It’s my kids first season going and I feel safe letting them go on any ride they’re tall enough for.
every time i go on levithan or behomoth i feel like my restraint think that comes over my legs is loose, like all the time and i have a little "panick" thinking im going to die or something, so that makes me wanna bring the restraint a bit backwards just to make sure but i feel like it stilll a bit loose after i do that
My cousin (6Yrs) will always say things like "You see the high screamer, (Sky screamer) one time I saw someones seatbelt (It does NOT have seat belts) come off and they flew off and died" Cant wait to take him to Canadas wonderland next year
When you guys were on Yukon Striker during the opening 2 years ago, did they mount a camera to the ride for safety? Same with when they recorded Rick Mercer on Laviathan. I wish we could record our rides now that we have straps for go pros that would secure them.
It’s probably a liability thing for the park. They can’t trust that every person knows how to properly secure a camera so the safest thing is to just ban it outright
The rides are safe but the people aren't someone could have a phone in there pocket and if it flies out and hits you in the face it could possibly kill you just recently at a different park a girl was hit in the face and had to get stitches
No stories here, just to say that the most "unsafe" I've ever felt on a ride in Wonderland was when on Tomb Raider (Time Warp?) years ago. I was maybe 11 years old when I rode it and felt like I was too short in the ride. I was uncomfortable in the restraints the entire time and felt like I was going to slip out. Looking back now I"m sure that I was completely safe, but that experience just rubbed me the wrong way.
I find that the most uncomfortable ride. It needs the feet to be adjustable or something instead of ladder rungs. I'm just not the perfect height (even though I'm exactly the Can. average height)
I really need to get back to Canada’s Wonderland, if the US/Canada border is finally open, would love to go up there again and hang with you guys for a day.
I totally agree with you I went like yesterday and we did rides that went fast upside down plus the chances are you getting stuck up there is like 0.00001 literally There has never been like a death at canadas wonderland realting to a ride . Is it safe to say the part about Lumberjack is a little outdated now? I mean, just last week a group of riders were left upside down for almost 30 minutes. Seems like the ride did exactly what you said wouldn't happen.
I've been going to wonderland for over 15 years (started when I was 3) and it's really safe. I actually feel like it helped me with my social anxiety when it was really bad, and wonderland is the best place ever!
Excited for the giveaway! Your videos have helped me alot in planning out my wonderland visits and I got the drink plan after your fervent advocating 😅 Unfortunately I was late the fast lane, but at least now I have free drink refills every 15 minutes
It’s not really possible. That’s why the platform staff have you pull up and down on your restraint before it dispatches. It can definitely tighten during the ride but not loosen.
Hey yeah of course. So I don’t know what exactly caused the stoppage as it could literally be a million things. But basically short form the ride acted as it’s supposed to and sensed something was wrong and didn’t allow the trains to move. So they get all the people off the ride in a very safe way and then maintenance goes and looks at the ride and fixes the error :)
@@ishwarjotkhattra8560 employees aren’t counted into the reservation system when they work. So if they finish early they can stay and ride as they’re already a number
@@AmusementInsiders what I meant by that was employees have free access to the park as one of the perks of working there. If an employee was to go to the park not for work but rather to enjoy the park with family and friends, then would a reservation system apply to them
I have had so many of my friends claim that their restraint came undone on vortex and evertime, I’m like you realize that’s impossible right, they think the restraint loosening a little (becuase it’s a ratcheting restraint and not a hydrolic) that they are going to be ejected out of the ride.

Maybe not kick them out maybe just kick them off the ride or taking their cameras but maybe not kicking them out of the park
As someone who worked as a ride op...I WISH BROTHER I WISH
The protocol is to "warn them" and restart the ride...If they do it again we call security
Im so glad Wonderland is so safe. As an extremely paranoid person, im so glad i dont have to worry about the safety of the rides
Im super excited for this video! I’ve been with the channel since the Giga dive and it’s amazing to see how far the channel has grown!
U explained it perfectly, this is why I like following u, thank u so much, ur awesome at explaining things
Thanks for reassuring us. Canada's Wonderland is a truly amazing park, and I love how they put safety first and foremost during their operations.
Shared this in a wonderland parents group.
Some people just don't have a clue.
I feel so bad for your father, Canada's wonderland is also a big pat of my life so if one of my last memories with my father was there.. I don't really know what I would do😔
Shared this to my friends that are terrified of falling out of rides. Thanks for making this video! It’s definitely one that had to be made.
I was on the Lumber Jack when it got stuck. It’s still my favourite ride 😂
This is why I don’t like social media so much false news spreads. It’s good you cleared everything up for people
Great Video, I know people that have asked me why I go to a place with dangerous rides after seeing articles like those claiming the potential dangers at Wonderland.
Amazing video, UA-cam had no video on this topic before. You are a great content creator.
Ok as someone who worked at the lumberjack ride group (I met you at the park once you know who I am...I appeared in one of you testing videos)
From what i know the day that ride was stuck the E stop was engaged but the ride didnt come down...
I liked, comment, subscribed and shared this video with all my co-workers at Canada's Wonderland. We all love your videos and Instagram stories when you come to La Cantina
I just bought season passes so excited to go wish fast pass wasnt too expensive tho because the lines are super long
I was melting in the Leviathan line LOL
I have been going to Canada's Wonderland for over 18 year and I have never had any problems on the rides they are super safe thank you Brandon for putting this video out there keep up what you are doing.
Already subscribed but I'm definitely sharing this! Keep up the good work your channel is my go-to when I need info
I like your videos of Canada’s wonderland so much they are the best and I am going to Canada’s wonderland soon and I am excited to go!!!!!!!
Great video! I’ve been to wonderland three times this season. It’s my kids first season going and I feel safe letting them go on any ride they’re tall enough for.
every time i go on levithan or behomoth i feel like my restraint think that comes over my legs is loose, like all the time and i have a little "panick" thinking im going to die or something, so that makes me wanna bring the restraint a bit backwards just to make sure but i feel like it stilll a bit loose after i do that
oh just thought of another question but where do u get the drinks from the drink plan?
My cousin (6Yrs) will always say things like "You see the high screamer, (Sky screamer) one time I saw someones seatbelt (It does NOT have seat belts) come off and they flew off and died"
Cant wait to take him to Canadas wonderland next year
Thank you for the information!! Love watching your videos after my day
Wow great vid I’ve seen the tic toks and I’m glad you are explaining the ride safety
I was stuck on dragon fire for 10 mins while waiting for the other train to get cleaned. Someone got sick!
The rides are safe but the people aren't someone could have a phone in there pocket and if it flies out and hits you in the face it could possibly kill you just recently at a different park a girl was hit in the face and had to get stitches
9:32 that’s exactly what happened to “the fly” roller coaster while I was waiting in line.
I love watching your video especially right before going to wonderland to prepare for everything!!
Whats your goto Food at wonderland?
La Cantina by Pizza Pizza near front gate and Muskoka Brewery Craft Burger and Beer (long wait but amazing burgers)
Thank you, as always Brendon your video is very dense with information!
I DID IT, I AM A HUGE SUPPORTER OF YOU, ME AND MY FRIEND LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS.
ITSS INSANEE!!!!! And don't worry.and I really love ur vids they help me A LOT!! Andgoodluck to everyone and i hope i get squishmallows I'm obsessed with them. and i could really use one as a gift. Good luckkk and ur vidsssss amazinggg
I love Canada’s wonderland it’s so much fun and this channel really helped me have the best day when I went.
Excited for the giveaway! Your videos have helped me alot in planning out my wonderland visits and I got the drink plan after your fervent advocating 😅 Unfortunately I was late the fast lane, but at least now I have free drink refills every 15 minutes
All season fast lane is available now again :)
Question, is there still social distancing on roller coasters?
My best friend said his aunt worked at wonderland, and when they were working on vortex a week came off, he was lying right?
100% lying or broken telephone
My friend said his restraint came undone on vortex
It’s not really possible. That’s why the platform staff have you pull up and down on your restraint before it dispatches. It can definitely tighten during the ride but not loosen.
Always great content on this channel. Keep it up 👍🏻
Thank you so much. That legit was really kind of you
I’m going with friends on the 30th what rides should we go on and is the funnel cake good
CW's facebook post has a recipe to make them! We've made them a few times now--Not hard to give it a shot!
great to see you spreading the Information. keep it up 👍
the behemoth ride was recently evacuated, do you mind explaining what happened
Hey yeah of course. So I don’t know what exactly caused the stoppage as it could literally be a million things. But basically short form the ride acted as it’s supposed to and sensed something was wrong and didn’t allow the trains to move. So they get all the people off the ride in a very safe way and then maintenance goes and looks at the ride and fixes the error :)
@@AmusementInsiders thank you so much For the clarification, also do you know if employees also have a reservation system for going to the park
@@ishwarjotkhattra8560 employees aren’t counted into the reservation system when they work. So if they finish early they can stay and ride as they’re already a number
@@AmusementInsiders what I meant by that was employees have free access to the park as one of the perks of working there. If an employee was to go to the park not for work but rather to enjoy the park with family and friends, then would a reservation system apply to them
Is wonderland fully booked this year
Thank you so much for making this video, now I can show my friends how safe the rides really are they never believe me lmao.
Also thank you for helping out on tik tok and other social media platforms, fact checking and explaining things to those who don’t understand.
I have had so many of my friends claim that their restraint came undone on vortex and evertime, I’m like you realize that’s impossible right, they think the restraint loosening a little (becuase it’s a ratcheting restraint and not a hydrolic) that they are going to be ejected out of the ride.
Lmao ya I was stopped on leviathans lift front row because someone behind us pulled out their phone.
wait I though funnel cakes are close when I went I saw ppl line up but the door wasn't open ?on Wednesday when I went ?
hey brendan i hope your having a good day, i love the giveaway idea and im excited for it
Great video, as always! Love that your educating people. Wonderland is very safe and I would trust them with my life. Keep up the great work.
