Southend United players, staff and fans applauding each other after the full time whistle once the pitch was cleared of Scunthorpe United fans. It’s been a season they’d all like to forget off the pitch, on it though they’ve stuck together through all the off field issues and are still in with a chance of reaching the play offs. Depending on Boreham Woods result this evening, they need them to lose.
Ron Martin sell up and piss off. The fans,
town and wider community deserve so much better than you. Do the right thing.

I applauded them too, tbh. I saw their protest banners in the crowd. We've had some great games against Southend over the years. Both clubs have been through it this season. Both have troubles going forward in my opinion. Edit: and the way their team kept playing with such determination this season, despite the uncertainty over their jobs, is remarkable.
