Average pitch in those days was around 75-80mph. Around high school speed these days.
The mound was also a different height. I believe they played on a nearly flat surface.
Shohei is much better than Babe, and no Sho doesn't get any love in the US
I don’t know why especially the younger generation doesn’t acknowledge or respect history, Ohtani is a great player and maybe go down as the best ever he’s that good, I thought I’d never see a player do both this well at pitching and hitting though.
I don't think its casual fans or even young fans, who hate on Ohtani the most. Its actually hardcore fans and fans who idolized certain players of the past, that get most upset when Ohtani is brought up as goat status or better than Babe. Those are the types that hate on Ohtani the most.
@@phuckfumassters I don’t hate Ohtani at all but the blatant disrespect for Ruth is ridiculous and it’s a complete myth that pitchers only threw 75-80, they threw closer to 90 and always have up until about 20 years ago, what’s even crazier is there’s always been a couple generational talents even back then who could touch 98-100
They say Mike Trout WAR is amongst the best ever all time, but I've watched ⚾ all season this year and Big Sho has won games completely by himself while his teammates are on the mend...... They're not going to win the whole thing, but they are in the mix of things bc ohtani can just dominate a game singlehandedly 🙌🏿

@@sancho004 baseball is the ultimate team sport. an individual player doesnt have guarantee playoff win impact in the MLB even if they're one of the best ever. the rest of the players have to get on base for any batter to score meaningful points. and doesnt matter how good of a pitcher he is a pitcher doesnt play every game the other pitchers gotta hold it down on off days. but if we get to see Ohtani on a real roster in international play and boy does he perform for Japan
