- In this sculpting tutorial I explain how to enlarge a sculpture via foam carving, Magic Sculpt, and needle felting. Starting with a 3d scan, a foam carving company enlarged the piece to 5 ft. using a CNC machine and EPS foam. what do they tend to coat the foam with the harden it and make it durable? Is there any produc like that thats safe to use at home?

Of that blue stuff is closed cell then what’s open cell?
not sure- I just know closed cell means it won't absorb moisture
Instead of using a file to carve, do you ever use a hot wire cutter or hot knife with the styrofoam bead foam?
Jacqueline Overby yes I have a couple different hot knife tools. They work great. Just wear a respirator. The fumes are awful.
