nice build. mine is currently at 7.2kg but not full spec for climbing. if you to find m2 racer parts, that will save tenths of grams. their skewers have 29 grams and pedal at around 99 grams. i have the skewer and slightly modified the rear parts to reach the end nut. the edge wheel is amazing.
Nice Ride id use the x2 by set up for general road riding and x1 for hill climbs. Peeps pay $10,000 upwards for a 7kg bike. $15,000 for sub 7kg and here you have one for way a fraction of the cost.
You could lose another couple of hundred grams by changing the crank set to a carbon one, AliExpress have them from about £100! ‘LEESE LSE-C01 ,Carbon Fibre Crank Ultra Light Road GRAVEL Bike Bicycle Crank Arm For Shimano Direct Mount Chainring Cranks”
Good build mate. I would say you can sell your Ultegra di2 and buy a Sram red mechanical 10 or 11 speed for the money which is much lighter than Ultegra.
That was the original plan till I realised just how nice having di2 was when you’re deep into a hard effort. The weight isn’t too much heavier vs my old 10s force when you factor in cables and batteries. Maybe I’ll do a comparison for a future video.
It’s a pf86 bb so I’m a bit hesitant to run a 30mm or dub axle which most the lightest cranks use. Not sure how much of the criticism you see online about it is real or just scaremongering. I might give some sram red dub cranks a go with a direct mount ring as that would be significantly lighter and already have a set on my gravel bike so wouldn’t be too much commitment if it doesn’t work out.
are Hill Climbs UCI sanctioned? or are they run under TT club rules ? therefore UCI standards do not apply, therefore video is miss-titled? too much gcn cool aid
Not in the uk, however the bike still wouldn’t be allowed in a UCI race if I ever was good enough to enter one. I get your point but unfortunately you have to use a few buzzwords in UA-cam titles otherwise it won’t suggest it to anyone.
Yeah baby! There's not enough content like this

also the satisfaction of dropping someone with a 10k plus bike is just funny, end of the day their just bike not cars lol
That's the nice thing about uk hillclimbing you can be competitive on very cheap equipment!
do you like the kocevelo bars? How's the quality on them?
they're quite flexy so ill put up with them for short races but I wouldn't use them for general riding
@durianrider would approve

You run the saddle pretty far forward, an Elita One zero offset post would probably save a fair bit 😊
I second this
If I could I would’ve but it’s a d shaped post so there’s very limited aftermarket options
Btw, you can save a ton of weight by removing rim tape and replace it with aliexpress plastic plugs, that goes into rim holes. It weighs nothing.
Interesting I might have to give that a go
That crankset is like 700grams. There must be a better option? 🤔

Elilee have 24mm. And skypivots. Not super cheap though
Sand it
