Up to my knowledge - Pilot Pollution is used in UMTS. It appears when there are more powerfull cells then in Active set and their RSCP vary within Handover settings. Due to lack of soft HO in LTE this concept has slightly different approach. RS Pollution in LTE represents dominant cell issues and does not have 'more then 3' limitation. Generally speaking, there should be only 1 dominant cell within 1 channel. Exception is cell edge where Adaptive Fractional Frequency Reuse is used.
Valid poitns for WCDMA. Multi-server environment in LTE refers to RS from multiple cells having similar coverage leading to ping pong cell re-selections and HOs.
