Incredible seeing you play these snares side by side, a beautiful thing. They sound great, toms are singing, love your playing
They sound incredible!

Fantastic!!!
Thanks all! It was REALLY fun doing this one!!! Had a blast!
Many thanks Steve I did see a picture off Buddy's Slingerland kit in a museum the saddest picture I have ever seen, you have played those Rogers and given them a voice once again
Thanks, that was great!
im pretty sure Steve is my favorite drummer
im a guitarist and synth guy and composers and.. all the string stuff
but i did learn drums mostly cause i couldnt find a drummer for a band
^^^uncessary info
but... we drum way differently, im like a blasty double bass drummer
but when i see you play drums Steve, i fucking feel it bro! i love it,
I love when anybody does something well, its so awesome to see an artist/painter whatever do something they do well! hell yeah bro! if you drink i have your first whiskey if you happen to be in kansas
Steve, despite my UA-cam name, behind which there's a story, my real name is Dave. You've graciously corresponded with some time ago me via e-mail on a concern I had regarding an old Ludwig Supra-phonic snare and its related serial number. Anyway .... as I've mentioned here previously, I don't know what I enjoy most, those beautiful and historic drums you feature, or your amazing chops!!! Thanks again for another great video.
Thanks for sharing
this moment Steve! 🥁🏆🥁
Love your solo.
Rogers was my kit of choice back in the early 70's. Had a 24" double bass set up, 4 rack mounts (8,10, 12,14) and 2 floor toms (16 & 18) black pearl. Sold one of the Bass drums years ago. Had a Premier snare drum and a Rogers Dyna-sonic but traded that for a Ludwig wooden snare drum.
Man, that kit sounded amazing!!!!
Love it!
Truly wonderful! What a sound and beautiful playing as always Steve!
I feel the love .. the sound of history.
Keep up the great work !
Nice playing on beautiful sounding drums. I continue to play my '60s era Rogers kit to this day.
So cool Steve! Thank you
Excellent solo and ponytail. Ten thumbs up.
Pure joy Steve
I met Louie in the early 70s at a Jazz Festival in Reno, then saw him perform at a local junior college jazz performance shortly before he passed.
Phenomenal! Thanks so much 🙏
Steve, what a historical moment an amazing story, thanks so much for sharing
You sound very inspired today!
Lovin this channel, the people and the instruments are top notch!!!!!
That mounted tom sounds incredible.
Great sounding drums!
Great playing!
geez, where else in the world will you find these items...it's like a drum museum..
Always great to watch your impressive playing, Steve! I think "Buddy's" snare sounded a little better.
This Rogers drum kit sounds amazing.i’v got a 380 5piece kit from 1968 marine pearl finish.cat someone talk about the 380 drum kit? Or a demo
Everything sounds great and nice solo really ! I don' t have the kind of money to own a kit of a famous drummer but do you think the present Rogers drums could compare ? Thank you !
Are those coated ambassadors or emperors on the drums . They sound great
Hey Steve did you get Louies kit from Art Benson (Dynamic Percussion)
+stevemaxwelldrums *This ROGERS® kit looks authentic to the 1950's, with distinct tom and cymbal holders on the kick.* Pearl Drum has the best contemporary hardware for mounting toms and cymbals in similar fashion on dual kicks; the BB-300 dual-ø19mm-pipe base is supported with tom and cymbal arms.
I love you.
Have you ever played a Billy Cobham Steve gadd Vinny colaiuta or Bill bruford snare. Snares that they've actually played from the 70s.
I'd like to hear a Gene Krupa slingerland radio King I believe is what it's called and you also had another Gene Krupa snare on here at one time with two other snares it was a much deeper snare than the other two and it sounded better than the other two way better I was wondering what kind of snare that was.
I'm sure if it was the drums, but I thought Buddy was at his best when he played Rogers drums.
I definitely like Louise's Rogers snare better
Wow, you can't get two snares today to sound that close. Who says modern manufacturing is better? Doesn't seem to be for drums!!!
