Hiya, there wasn't any new tecnique🙂. I attached the zip as I would any other dress just that I experieced thickness around the waist area but my machine was able to sew through it.

Ma for a baby of 5years how many yards of soft net will I use to Create the gathers at the waist part .I don't want it to be 6layers

You can use upto 10, 15 yards. It doesn't have to be 6 layers. You can make it 2 or 3 layers.
