I was very fortunate to have visited Ajunta and Ellora Caves in early February 2020. Exquisite and inspiring works of prayer ...through sculptural art. I wish I had the narrator of the documentary with me while there; a thorough scholarly/ historical presentation. Thank you Sir. I'm very happy to re-visit these Caves here at home now ( via this documentary) as the world is under lockdown due to Covid-19. Stay healthy readers. Namaste from Canada.

all these beautiful caves and sculptures made without computers. I love the richness in its details and expressiveness. If this was made with computer someday it would be horribly symmetric geometric forms the deities would be sterile looking and symmetric. There would not be life on earth if everything was symmetric.

I do not agree that the buddha reaching nirvana (reclining buddha) is best seen from his feet. As your video shows evidently, it's best seen from looking directly at the face from a distance. I understand you meant this as a reverence but it is by not making buddha a god that he can be the most compassionate to us. You should not put a hierarchy distance between you and him, that would be disrespecting his teaching of oneness of the world.
