Fantastic cover of one of my favorite songs. It's hard to think of a song with a more haunting melody. Great playing and awesome voice. The framing of the video is also lowkey super perfect for this song. The way the banjo shakes as you claw it plus the framing of your mouth in the corner singing + all the darker brown color tones creates a visual aesthetic that compliments the haunting mood of the song really really well. Just like when I listen to Doc sing it, I really felt that you were pleading with death, there's this urgency evoked in the performance that is crucial to elevating this from being not just "good singing and some decent clawhammer", but to being good art. thanks for sharing! Just got a banjo myself and this is going to be the first song I learn, though I might pick it because I'm learning that first. definitely want to learn clawhammer at some point though, it's such a cool looking/sounding way to play
Damn. This guy is good!!
Thanks so much :)
