- Today we are back at Korea University with Johnny, to experience one of the most unique University Festival cultures in the world!! During the year that I spent studying at Korea University I met lots of incredible people and had lots of new experiences, but by far the most unforgettable was the experience of Korea-Yonsei University rivalry, and the cheering culture that surrounds the rival festivals.
Unfortunately we weren't in Korea with Johnny for the actual 고연전 this year, but we were lucky enough to take him to the Ipsilenti Festival, and get a glimpse of how Korea University students come together, cheer for their university, and bond together!!

오늘은 조니와 함께 다시 고려대에 가서 세상에서 가장 독특한 대학 축제를 경험해봅니다!! 제가 고대에서 교환학생으로 지내는 동안 정말 좋은 사람도 많이 만나고 새로운 경험도 많이 해봤지만, 그중에서도 가장 잊을 수 없는 기억은 고연전과 축제, 그리고 응원전이었던 것 같아요!
안타깝게도 조니와 올해 고연전은 함께 가보지 못했지만, 입실렌티 축제는 타이밍이 딱 맞아서 고대 학생들이 어떻게 응원하고 단결하는지 보여줄 수 있었답니다!!
지난주 토요일에 축제 첫째날 영상 올린거 아직 못 보셨다면 꼭 놓치지 말고 첵잍아웃!!

올해 여름에 고려대학교를 졸업한 학생입니다. :) 현재 외국에서 생활하고 있는데, 모교 축제에서 조시와 조니가 응원가를 즐기는 모습을 보니 괜히 학부생 때가 그리워지네요 :D

So I'm not sure why but for some reason, I got super emotional watching this. Like, we're talking legit "choked up, why do my eyes want to get teary" kinda stuff. I don't know why hahaha. I just really want to experience this. :( Hardly anyone at my university has any kind of school pride and there would never in a million years be something like this. It just seems like such an incredible experience.
you're not alone!! i wish i had this sense of community at my school :(( everyone stuck to their circles and kept to themselves which is a shame.
Sure the school and many other factors play a role in this. But you could change your own community to be more like this. One step at a time.

I was at that Ipselenti and it was one of the craziest, best nights of my life. The amount of fun doing the cheers and smashing your friend's heads down as they do the same to you, can not be put into words ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

My uncle went to this university back in the old days. It's well known for prestigious school but also crazy party college life. I had no idea it was this crazy. LOL
대학원생까지 2만명 가까이 함께 모여 미쳐버리는 경험을 1년에 두 번 이상 할 수 있는 고대. 그 스펙타클한 의식 함께 해보면 평생 못잊어요. ^^ 가끔 그립기도 하고. 아 젊고 보다 순수했던 시절. 라이벌 연대가 있어서 가능한 것일 수도. 혼자 저럼 이상할 듯. 올해 고연전도 멋지게 필승!전승!압승! 라때는 야구 11:0으로 이김(1986년) 연세도 화이팅!

I was an exchange student at KU 2 years ago, Ipsilenti was definitely one of the highlights of my time there!
It put such a big smile on my face when Ollie’s song came on and you guys were jumping around as one big group and it was just such a beautiful inspiring moment ❤️

the first korean text message except english text is not for you, for him(징징이). i leaved the comment for him to blame with mocking. also i leaved the comment why i did to him. my korean text message for him on native korean communication means "Hey dude, She is singaporean, can you communicate in korean with her (to advertise your spam channel)? Try to chat in english dude! Of course you(징징이) must do not this(=to advertise your spam channel)[if he(징징이)can communicate in english to chat, but do not this!]". and english text message next to korean is only for you, not him(징징이). Of course it is welcome for you. and why i wrote english text is because he(징징이) may not understand what i say for only you to understand my english message. do you understand what i chat?

그 때는 몰랐는데... 이게 한국만 가지는 독특한 문화일 수도 있겠네요...
요즘은 어떨 지 모르겠지만, 외국인들이 보기에는 충분히 멋진 경험일 수 있겠네요.

I've been circling back in this vid, whenever I'm stressed. But maybe that circling around with their arms almost having a side hug with each other, while jamming with the Uni's cheer or hymn, is like saying to each other, "We're in this together through ups and downs as comrades in this uni." And the ups and downs are the banging of the head together. Basically summing up college life. Yeah it sucks coz it's like roller coaster. But roller coaster is fun with your friends around.

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ친구따라 입실렌티 가봤는데 아무리 신나도 저 분위기에는 같이 녹아들수가 없었어요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 가기전에는 가수도 볼겸 또 뭔가 야알못이 두산공연가서 응원하는 그런 기분일줄알았는데 전혀 달랐어요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 뭔가 우리가 붉은악마 2002월드컵때 반 미쳐서 응원했던 그런 분위기처럼 아주 강력한 소속감이 없으면 이렇게까지 미칠순없겠다 싶더라구요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 그래서 가수공연끝나고부터는 뒤에 돌계단에 앉아서 사람들 저렇게 노는거 구경했어요ㅋㅋㅋ 가끔 파란 티 입은 연대생들이 그들만의 원 만들어서 같이 놀고있고 ㅋㅋ 단대별로 엄청 큰 깃발도 흔들고 되게 재밌는 그림이었습니다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 축제끝나고 집와서 친구 파스붙여준 추억이 새록새록하네요 ㅋㅋㅋ

Mennn this seems like a place I want to study at. My uni doesn't have an exchange program with Korea university, but they do with yonsei so I guess I'm going to the enemyyyyy hahahaha
yonsei is the rival uni of kora uni. so they organize a festival together. You can experince exactly same thing in yonsei uni. Only those two unis have that crazy festival.
my friend went to Yonsei uni on exchange, best time of her life she decided to stay in Korea
doring this even also comes the rivals and you should be there in Sep. they have the sports matches and they do a rival cheerleading Orientation with both schools together at the organizing uni. been there done that.
yonsei got lit festivals too that bring in kpop stars
