I looked for Gaui X3 shafts today... they seem to have a groove cut into them (for the lock collar) Yours look smooth? Maybe they changed it. I'm thinking of using the whole Gaui head & swash. They use a 6mm main AND a 5mm feathering shaft. Gaui's feathering shaft is the same diameter as Align's main shaft.

Hi, this is a great mod... thanks for posting. I'm thinking of doing it too. Have you flown it much with this mod? Any issues or things you would do differently?
Hi. Hawke, This is a great mod, and works well for me, as I'am a poor pilot and have crashed many times. Last crash only damage was to rotor blades!! I may be dreaming but the heli does feel more rigid and stable! Ya the X3 main shafts I have ,do not have groove! The reason I went with the forza 450 head , is because I wanted to use Align grips. I suppose you could use a X3 rotor head. but it is a larger unit, more suited for a 480 size heli, DOUG
Doug Howdy Hey thanks so much for the reply & the info. They must have changed the Gaui shafts. It might be that the hole spacing on the Forza shafts would allow me to use the Gaui head... I'll have to check. Yes I think you're right, the Gaui head is designed for larger blades but I like the idea of a beefier head (5mm spindle, WoW!) with the driver arms instead of DFC. By using 325s I'd be asking alot less from it than what it was designed to handle. Hope to see some flying vids of your hybrid machine!
