That would not have worked, I am a Villa member and to get a UCL ticket you had to have a history of another UCL game. In my case there were no tickets available and had to buy a hospitality ticket.

Villa fan here... I did exactly the same for Monaco and we took big numbers to Nice and Monaco... I'll be at the game tonight but don't think it will be as hostile as the Rangers Man U game.... lots of Irish support Villa and many brummie Irish support both clubs

Clubs need to be a bit proactive with this stuff. When the Home End doesn't sell out via the usual route of Season Tickets or Paid Memberships and the Away End does, they need to increase the Away Allocation above the required 5%. Especially for Battle of Britain matches. It was the same when Tottenham visited Ibrox.
Unlike rangers fans there will be no trouble from celtic fans at the villa ground as we are well known round the world for our good behavoir

I'm a villa fan. I'd assume by the Witton stand, they mean the doug Ellis stand. If there ticket says Witton Lane, then it's a fake 😂. But onto a serious point, I sit in the holte end lower, and I guarantee if there are celtic fans, in the holte end, 100% it will kick off.
There won't be it's all season tickets in the Holte. It might kick off in the Lower Grounds as I bet Celtic fans will have paid the 250 quid that villa fans have refused on principle.

I'm a Celtic season ticket holder I've been allover Europea 1 night in Celtic park there was Borussia Monchengladbach next to me what did I do I shook his hand that's what football shouted about I went to their ground away game absolutely fantastic people

Nothing new, happens, at all matches, all stadiums and at all clubs. Dinamo fans in Arsenal home end last week, its not Scottish fans doing this, its everyone. Most just keep it to themselves to not draw attention, and if found stewards remove them.
The season ticket holders have an additional basic membership and transfer their ticket onto their other basic membership into a pdf ticket so any tourist fan can buy for 10x the price. Happens every other week at the Emerates stadium half full of random tourists that wonder around trying to find their seats. The knockon is the genuine home members don't get any tickets as they ballot them out.
Someone tell Simon that there is only 1 point between Celtic and Villa, therefore they are both playing for something. If Celtic win, they also may finish in the top 8. 🙄

Happened to me at Man City, I have been to loads of city games. Went in the city end for Celtic against city and when someone heard my accent it kicked off got thrown out

Yes Celtic are a very politically minded club who's culture is still stuck in history from 500 years ago. They don't consider themselves to even be British and hate the Royal family, now a lot of English people are not keen on the Royals either but the Celtic fans take it further singing songs in praise of the "'RA". This was particularly insulting after the Birmingham Pub Bombings in 1974.

You're trying to compare teams in the top 24 this year to teams that got through to the last 16 in previous tournaments so obviously there's gonna be some teams in there that you wouldn't associate with getting through the group stage. Wait until after the play off games to see how the last 16 shapes up this year. And if Villa or Celtic get to that stage it's not based on whether the quality has been watered down it will be because they've performed better than the usual clubs that get through. Not our fault that the more prestigious european clubs can't cope with a new format.

My own Mother being one of those, and ive been a Villa fan for 40+ years who sides with Celtic! Villa v Celtic is nothing like the relationship between UTD v Rangers, which also has the Akex Ferguson/Aberdeen history added to it! Thr Ciry of Birmingham and Villa fans are well known for being amongst the fairest, most tolerant, and friendly amongst most UK Cities and Football Clubs! Id be very surprised if theres any bother at all! I guarantee you there are pubs full of both Villa & Celtic fans in same pub both before AND after the match! We are delighted to be playing such another great historic club in Celtic for both our histories! And if any fans of either clubs play up near me in the Holte end, theyd get put in line sharpish! 😂👍🙏

They also used to use Their English or Northern Irish Relatives and friends to Q for them.
They did this at Wolverhampton. Tottenham, Leeds Utd. the first time and Newcastle Utd.
Their Official 3,000 ticket allocation was swelled .
13,000 at Wolves, Spurs 18,000
Leeds 15,000, THE GREAT under achiever Newcastle United .gave Rangers 10,000 tickets but Rangers were backed. by 12,,000

There is a difference. Celtic fans go to enjoy the game and befriend opposition fans. Rangers fans, not all but enough, go to cause trouble. Celtic party in European cities with the locals.
