DragonFlite DF95 UK National Championships 2022

This video takes a look at the the 2022 DF95 (DragonFlite) National Championships held at Furzton Lake, Milton Keynes, UK. It was hosted by Two Islands Radio Yacht Club in July 2022
The DF95 is the most popular one design racing model yacht with a very active racing circuit in the UK.
More details of the DF95 aka DragonFlite can be found by checking out some of our other videos which go into more detail but basically the boat is a mass produced, off the shelf model yacht that is raced as a one design class, all boats are technically the same and available at low cost, which provides close and competitive racing.
Radio Sailing (Model yacht racing) is a competitive form of yacht racing run along similar lines to dinghy racing and keelboat racing.

This was refreshing to watch. Clearly there were some challenges with the event. When some competitors choose not to come back on day 2, most of us can imagine the conversations that were had. What's great is that this video has presented the event with acknowledgement of the challenges, and provides a good learning opportunity for race committees and competitors alike.

Just a tip. When de-weeding during a race, it is illegal to push a boat away when finished. The boat must be placed back on the water and move away under its own power.
