As a plus size person It isn't healthy and quite honestly it makes you feel horrible about yourself. Being overweight isn't a good thing but it doesn't make you less human. However it is something you can change, oppose to people with disabilities that cannot be changed or helped. I'm 40pounds down and never felt better and honestly regret letting myself get this way. Nobody should be shamed or made to feel bad about themselves, but that doesn't make the unhealthy choices they made the right thing.
Absolutely! I’m overweight and definitely know it’s not a good thing… I just don’t have enough motivation to even try changing. But I would never recommend my lifestyle to anyone else, _ever._
My mom has a disease, so no matter what she does she could go ten pounds down and either stay there or go back up. Her doctor keeps telling her to eat less fast food, eat less, exercise more, all of which she does and barely anything happens.
I personally think fat ppl shouldnt hate themselves, but when its being promoted as a good thing I do not think its a good thing as it is unhealthy and can cause serious health issues
Bros are acting like fat ppl are superior😭like its not bad its just REALLY absurd that they call other people fatphobic when theyre working out or doing a diet
Like being fat is unhealthy but in cases where it’s genetic is different, and like harassing fat people isn’t okay, like being fat is cool and all, not everyone finds it attractive which ur going to have to deal with.
Being obese isn't healthy but they don't want to acept it, it is a condition that makes you eat more and more, even if you ate everything your body needs until the next you eat you will still eat more, which makes you get fat, and being fat makes the chances of getting diabetes or other diseases higher. But they still deserve respect, no one should treat them badly just because they're fat
It's actually a condition caused by mental health or just health issues like pcos ,stress , depression all this leads to over eating or undereating even eating dissorder included
about the towel thing. literally just buy a beach towel. i use them they work fine (im not overweight i just like to wrap up like a borrito, but im almost certain they are bigger then the "plus size" towels)

My genetics and metabolism make it easier to gain weight and harder to lose weight, but I’m not about to treat myself like a minority because of it because there’s definitely things I can do differently lol. I personally think that they don’t accept themselves as much as they think. Yes, there’s acceptance, which is a sucky process, but it makes the weight loss journey far easier. As an overweight person, I’ve come to the conclusion that people would rather complain abt things like it’s a problem instead of accepting they’re the problem like the chairs, if you can’t fit in chairs maybe find a solution like possibly losing weight, its hard work but if you are not willing to fight towards change for yourself then no one is gonna fight for change for you. Beach towels are effective as hell and they got patters too 10/10. Yes we’ve been taught that being this is beautiful but as times have changed people are becoming more accepting and if we keep focusing on the people that don’t accept that change and keep hating towards it then nothing will change. We can’t change everyone’s minds so there’s no point to try to change everyone’s point. Okay that girl talking abour preferences really made me mad 💀 Having a type literally means you prefer, for example, tall guys with blue eyes and blonde hair or short guys with brown eyes and bleached hair. Also, some people can have racial preferences, and i dont mean someone who wouldnt date a poc, but someone who simply finds white, black, asian or any other race more attractive than another. Doesnt make you racist. I personally find white boys with brown hair hotter, but that doesnt mean i wouldnt date like a black boy for example. Agree with me or not, thats my opinon on preferences 💪
With me, im overweight and have diabetes but the doctors said it wasn't from food intake and it was hereditary. Anyways, my cousin said it was because I'm fat (I wear 2xls and he wears 3xls so where can he talk?) and his mom said if it was hereditary, one of them (in her generation between 5 kids) would have it. Surprise, surprise, she got it a few weeks later.. This has to do with the point you brought up about being overweight can lead to some diseases but I thought it was funny to share this karma between me and my aunt (who is also overweight. It kinda runs in my family.)
How did body positivity turn into this. It's gone from being kind to yourself about your body. Not punishing yourself or hurting yourself for being overweight. And now it's become, its ok and healthy to be fat. Taking no responsibility for our own well being.
Saying that it's racist or ableist or whatever to not date certain groups of people is wild. Yes, it absolutely is all those things to not be friendly or kind to those people, but you get to be a lot more selective when it comes to dating and physical attraction. You can't change what turns you on.

The point that these people who promote fat acceptance beyond "you don't need a chisled body to wear what you wanna wear" bank off of is this stupid argument that the BMI index is a terrible way to measure someone's healthiness, and they are right, however there are other options to use to compare weight and health and on all of them they are overall still less healthy than the people in the ideal range for their height on the BMI
I’m really insecure about my body that I skip meals and whenever I eat like a cracker somebody yells at me for stuffing myself. Watching this made 10x less insecure lol

why are people like this proud of it? a couple years ago, i ate a lot of snacks. and i felt so disgusting, i just felt gross. so i changed and stopped eating a lot. and obviously i lost all the extra weight. and some people want to stay like that?? why?
The lady that compared people not liking black people and people not like disabled people to being fat is wrong in so many ways. A black person can't change their skin tone, (as a disabled person) I can't change my disability however you CAN change your weight. You can't change sexuality either. That's like saying to a man he's homophobic because he only likes women. Like HUH? You can have a preference on styles you like your partner to wear or makeup looks those things can change. You can prefer a certain hair color because those can change, but a lot of the time people won't date JUST people who have brown hair. It's a risky line to walk and hard to explain..
There’s a difference between promoting obesity, and promoting larger bodies. Some people are bigger because of genetics, not unhealthy choices. Just because you’re on the bigger side doesn’t make you unhealthy, but if you eat unhealthily, you’re unhealthy.
Okay- So I’m overweight and I hate when people promote obesity. Sure, not ALL people who are overweight are unhealthy and people should accept them for who they are, but while you say “I promote obesity!” You aren’t just representing them- You’re encouraging the overweight people, who are indeed unhealthy, to stay how they are and not get help! People like that need to understand they can love their body, but if it’s harming Them then they need to fix it- People who give them advice on that are NOT “Fatphobic” or a bully, they just want to help! Btw, I wouldn’t necessarily say I am unhealthy- Considering I have two disorders that make it hard to lose weight and cause me to gain weight in the first place, regardless of what I eat and what diet I go on (Insulin Resistance and Under-active Thyroid), point being- I do NOT promote obesity, in my opinion- You can love your body all your want, but please get serious help/exercise if it starts to harm you and don’t call people “Fatphobic” for trying to help you!!
This is an awesome post and it makes a lot of sense thank you for sharing real facts unlike some people on here who just blame everyone else and call people fatphobic so they don’t have to listen to the truth👍🏻

@@Long-long-way-to-basingse Np, it is just the truth afterall!
