First rule of modern life, which I've tried to teach everyone I know: never, ever, put anything in text that you are not prepared later to defend.
A lesson for us all I think, it's advice I wish I'd followed on more than a few occasions.
True. On a similar theme, I once read a comment that said you shouldn't post anything online that you wouldn't be prepared to put on a billboard in front of your house. It's certainly something to bear in mind before you hit Send.
I’ve lived by this rule for my professional life and it’s saved me more times than I can remember. Never write down anything you wouldn’t say to a persons face, in front of other people. Basic life lesson.
"You don't just text them!", says the man who texts the same person about not getting a place in the funeral.
When Mr Sunak said the words 'Integrity, professionalism and accountability', those were just shallow words. His actions have been the complete opposite of what he said. This party is not to be trusted one little bit.
...we need an election now Benji boy....that's for sure.

True. Although, I err on the side of allowing them to go off more (give them enough rope to hang themselves etc). The fact that there was a back and forth of his continued bad behaviour makes Gavin’s argument all that much weaker than if it was just a single text.
Sadly the Permanent Secretary of a Department is supposed to be the last safeguard for protecting junior staff from badly behaving ministers.
