My mic had a weird noise when talking subtle but was there, but what did makes me doubt about being fake was the frequencies, in the botton it says that its frequency range is 790-820, but i searching in rhe official shure manual said the frequency should be around 500 and for that difference i started looking if there was fake shures, and found this video and immediately I noticed the mute button with mute word inside the button
Hi sir,is this means that if the coil has a shure in the middle is is it fake? I have blx288 pg58 i opened the ball head theres a shure mark in the middle of the foam.please answer.thank you
I have new system in Beta. pgxd. Identical to what you claim is fake. It has the blueish stripe on the back and the button inside the mic. all the same except i have the gold 3 stripe transmitter when opened. no glass in front just plastic window. all other aspects match the fake one ... only thing is I bought it from Shure. New. I doubt mine is fake
I recently bought a Blx288 Pg58 system from a site similar to ebay in my country, it was obviously a fake, very bad quality, I didn't even turned it on so I returned it and got my money back from the seller, now I got a BLX2/SM58 shipped and sold by Amazon, way better build quality, the PG58s had the caution sticket on it, however the one form Amazon also have the sticker, I can see the sicker in your 2 original mics, but most guides on internet say that the sticker is a clear giveaway to spot a fake one, do you think I also got a fake from Amazon?
The third is fake one is a reply of the Shure slxd24 beta58a model ( I'm only talking about the capsule and not the whole microphone) obviously a very clear fake.
yes it is, its also a fake beta capsule ,,,you can buy them anywhere for around £10 to 15 pound in England as replacements ,,the plastic button should not say shure on it it should just have two letters in white usually M O ,,probably stands for México also the window markings around the unit are the wrong shape ,,
Got the same unit with the beta mic I can tell it's fake because I have a few of the pgx unit I felt bad for those that can't tell because it's their first unit, the signal is not clean on the fake you get artifact noise sometime
Shure have interchangeable capsule cartridges. It could be possible that your RX and TX are real, but the capsule cartridge is swapped over from a fake. Otherwise, the counterfeiters have just become more accurate.
Which would be more proof this is fake since it’s on a supposed SM58. And the real SM58 ones do not have a dot. Also it’s in conjunction with a bunch of other tell tale signs.
Jimmy Tzoumas Poster here.... ya I noticed that. The betas do have that kind of shape and look (Altho no suspension to reduce noise handling) but when I called shure they verified the it was fake. They said they don’t confirm how to know so the ones making knockoffs don’t know exactly how to tell. BUT these models shouldn’t have that top they said. And the clear glass they confirmed is a easy way to spot just from an online picture.
You are not comparing apples to apples man!!!! the two so called real ones are SM58's and the one you choose to call fake is totally a different model (PG58). They are not the same model/built.
Sol Luna Channel owner here... Watch the video... You can clearly see SM58 on all 3 mics. They ARE all supposed to be the same model. PGX4 with SM58 Wireless. So comparison is valid. Shure also confirmed after watching this video while I was on the phone with them that it was INDEED counterfeit.
the fake one has a fake beta capsule in it the original beta capsules don't have the silly shure logo on the top of it and also the oval windows that run round the mic capsule are the wrong size ,,its a fake sm 58 with a fake beta cartridge,,,

a fake one but I didn't notice anything strange

i think you`ve got it spot on mate
Thanks for post'n! How is the fake's performance?
Was bad. Handling noise was bad and it was super bad with feedback. Wasn’t acting like a cardioid at all, more like a laptop mic 🤪.

they easiest way to spot a fake one is to turn it on and use it.
Thx for video, it helps a lot!
This is the poster of this video 😉. It was VERY bad and hollow sounding, feedback happened super easy and handling noise was very apparent.
How about the price ...... could be a give a way?

Which is real? Thanks
Is the third mic not a beta 58a PGX2 head

If you have a cheap scale and at least 1 product you are positive is authentic, you will see differences and be able to tell with any microphone.

Do you no any information about connectors on the green card ?
I want to remplace this on my SM58
Are the transmitters metal bodies?
Plastic but kinda rubbery

Also, the screen is oval on the fake and circular on the real ones.
Please sir... The genuine PXG... Are they made in Mexico or China?
Huh....I have one where the body matches the real ones, the receiver matches the real receiver, but the piece under the grill matches the fake on top.

The circle dot is for the Beta 58 capsule.

Sol is the Latin name for the Sun. Looking directly at the sun can cause blindness!
