Has nobody else said it? The Queen isn't snorting coke. She's "taking snuff," which is powdered tobacco.
Plus, Penelope could of said anything else about Eloise, like "Eloise has let down her family for not becoming the diamond" or "she refuses to dance with anyone at the ball" (like showing suitors wouldnt want to come near her, which could tbf benefit her) because they would of been bad enough for her, but not as bad as the theo scandal. Aswell, Eloise trusted her 1 person with this information and was excited to talk about it to Pen harmlessly, then she betrayed her.
If she did say something that soft or easy to get over. The queen would just think she is saying stuff about herself to throw her off her trail.

You don't expose a friend's secrets like that without letting them know, especially if it's going to give them trouble. No matter how I look at it, I just don't see how she didn't mess up, and I'm not even a fan of Eloise haha
@@gianellab.4953 Pen had to get the Queen off of Eloise’s back. The Queen’s sanctions would effect Eloise’s entire family. Truth is Eloise put herself in that position. What Pen did was the only way to get her out of it.
@@jjh2456 See, I have a problem with those arguments because:
1) The queen would never have been trying to expose LW if LW was not constantly provoking her, so technically, Penelope got Eloise in that situation
2) What LW wrote affected the whole family. Nobody showed up to their ball because of it. So Penelope just replaced an evil with another.
3) Penelope didn't have to betray Eloise to protect her. She could *tell* her she was LW so they could plan something together or, if there really was no other option, so Eloise could give her *permission* to share her secret. Penelope didn't HAVE TO betray Eloise. She did it because she wanted to.

My heart broke when you didn't know who Francesca was and it isn't your fault, its the writers. She is a Bridgerton and sixth child. She is usually more independent, she enjoys her time away from the family even though she loves them all to pieces. In the books she is really close to Eloise and they also share a birthday one year apart. They even bribed a maid to find out how babies were made🤣. I hope we see more of her bcs she is my girl and must be protected at all costs. We need more of her in future seasons. She needs to be appreciated more, I hope the writers do her justice.
Fun fact, Colin is actually the best brother in the books, he introduced Kate and Anthony, he likes to meddle into his siblings life, basically the matchmaker, so I am a bit pissed they made him bland in the show.

I have a few issues with the writing but I don’t think this one is on them. She wasn’t in it this season because the actress was busy with other projects. She’ll come back and get more air time.

The Bridgerton you didn’t know the name of (and I don’t blame you. She had a scheduling conflict and is barely in the show) is Francesca. Her book is my favorite. She basically get married, her husband dies, and then falls in love with her dead husband’s cousin who has been pining for her for years.

Good list. The Bridgerton siblings are easy to remember because they are alphabetical. Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca ( who was hardly in it because of a scheduling conflict) Gregory and Hyacinth. The parents are Edmund and Violet.

It's an amazing show written and created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.It's just 1 season and 6 episodes. It's amazing and so underrated, and Jonathan's character is hilarious and very 🌶 there 😉
lol the one you did not know is Francesca (bridgerton child 6 of 8). Her books was actually pretty good but the actress was only able to be in 3 episodes because of filming conflicts.

I think Eloise didn't heed counsel when it was being offered over and over. She kept making stupid decisions, got caught and then Penelope had to sacrifice her to save her. What Penelope-as-Whistledown wrote about Eloise was that she was going to the equivalent of Women's Liberation meetings, which, based on Eloise's personality no one would be shocked about. If they had found out she was liking someone so far below her station, her reputation would have been ruined forever. In a way, Penelope saved her. But it shouldn't have needed saving if she had just minded her own business. Whistledown writes about everyone but only Eloise felt the need to unmask her...in the show.
But if we're going to do this, we have to go all the way. Eloise would need no saving if Lady Whistledown wasn't constantly provoking the queen haha The queen wanted to find LW because she kept mocking her and never would care about Eloise's escapade if LW had stuck to idle gossip. Also, nobody else knew of Eloise's escapades in the ton, which means she could have gotten away with them if it wasn't for Penelope, and the fact that they said people didn't show up to the Bridgerton ball because of Eloise's scandal means what LW said wasn't insignificant, even for a lady of her backing. I just thing by the end of the day, Penelope is the only person who really gained from this, which makes it hard to understand her betrayal.
Loved your reactions, especially to the last two episodes! I loved how invested you were in Kanthony and was rooting for them to be together and absolutely agree about Edwina - couldn't she have asked her questions instead of the passive-aggressive stuff she threw at Kate in ep. 7? About your ranking, I think Benedict and Eloise get a free pass too easily not really doing much at all! I think they need to work harder to be top tier! They'd be at least a level down for me. Absolutely agree with Kanthony being diamonds, and Violet. Daphne grew on me this season, she offered some great advice to Anthony, and was super perceptive. Theo, the Footman and Will would be lower for me. But how could you put Newton so low??? He deserved to be Talk of the ton at least if not a Diamond! Kate won't be pleased with you, Brad!!

The only thing I would change is to put Lady D in the Diamond section, take El and put her in the reputation section - she’s just so grating and her activism is performative. She literally tells Pen it’s what she uses for entertainment vs the social season. So for her it’s still a diversion. Theo made her more palatable for me but without him her character is unbearable. I hope the show gives us a break from her tbh. Put more focus on Benedict, Francesca and give us the Kate backstory & development we got robbed of in S2.
I thought Theo would knock a couple braincells into her but it just turned into another stupid Whistledown chase and her “activism” went from sucking ass to non-existent 💀 I find her unbearable and awful, I like Theo so much better than her ever

Thank you!! Eloise embodies a combo of the "not like other girls" stereotype and a misconception of real-life everyday feminists (sensible ones ofc, not feminazis).
From what I remember in the show, she was self-centered, preachy, rude, inconsiderate and ignorant of the problems of anyone who isn't just like her, including her siblings, or people of lesser status. Also, in a way, close-minded, ironically enough.
She's aggravating to watch.
Slouching is one thing, but talking to the queen like she's your beer buddy (mannerisms included) is another.
Supporting women's rights is one thing, telling your brother he can't have problems because he's a man is another.
Wanting women to be able to get higher education is one thing, putting your sister down for wanting to marry and refusing to acknowledge her accomplishments is another.
And so on...
She's not all bad but damn is it hard to watch her. Once a friend said that Eloise "is all of us" and I actually felt like screaming.

I love Edwina and i relate to her so hard being the younger sibling myself...i see so much of myself in her because we both grew up idolizing our older sibling thinking they were the best and i trusted their judgement and then slowly realizing that they aren't perfect and they too are a slobbering mess themselves..LOL..and it sometimes makes you angry that you didn't think for yourself and trust your own instincts over your older sibling's but in the end its better because you grow more confident and happier when you start doing shit on your own and it makes for a much better relationship between siblings anyway...it mirrored my relationship with my older sibling so much...so yeah i fuck with Edwina

Surprised that Edwina had such a high score from you ,lol. By the way,i think that the sideburns were truelly from Jonathan Bailey, if i remember well,that's what he said in an interview, and the purpose was that he looked more mature this season because of his searching of a wife/viscountess. All is really well planned by the make-up and costume departments, it's very cool.

I agree so wholeheartedly. She was getting better in the last episode, but I thought she was super harsh on Kate. I hated when they were fighting and she said “half” sister. I thought it was too low.
And as for the Queen. I love when I found out she was ACTUALLY black. From Germany. Charlottes NC in America was the city named for her. It’s great.

Correction Violet and Lady Danbury saw it in episode 2 when they were at Lady Danbury's house for the poetry reading.
I know what your are talking about. After Kate came back to the party Anthony sensed her being the room and talking to two men and it kinda bothered him. But I don’t think violet and lady Danbury got it from Anthony’s that particular look. They just looked at each other and thought that Kate and Anthony hated each other.

Anthony was hungry for some Kate at the jump. I love this season. I liked Bridgerton. But the Kate and Anthony story is so compelling. That's how me and my man started out. We did not like each other and then 1 day we saw each other differently and 25 years and 3 kids later we are still together.
@@magoo9279 I have watched that scene more than 20 times. On the same episode Lady Danbury and Violet had a conversation about Kate’s disapproval of the viscount. From the way Kate acted after Anthony’s arrival at the soirée, I read that look between Danbury and violet as “she’s gonna be a problem, she still doesn’t like the viscount”
In my opinion Lady Danbury suspected that something was going on after the hunting incident because the chaperoning maid probably told her that Kate and Anthony were alone together and then their dance confirmed it. Even though Violet was not in frame during the dance, she probably could have sensed it from the dance as well and then she saw Anthony getting jealous with Dorset which kinda confirmed her suspicions.
I dunno that’s how I see it I maybe wrong 🤷♀️

Go back and watch when the dog Newton first saw Anthony. He was waging his tail. He liked him. Kate tried to make it seem he didnt. When the doors were open he didnt growl at Anthony or try to charge or bite him. Penelope d's sisters both need to be gone They served as the evil step sisters in S1 we don't need them anymore. The new lord Featherington bye Felicia to him. I'd put Daphne in Nary a peep. She was there but in the end her job turned out to to be pushing Anthony. Pen could have let Eloise go on with the plan and stop writing or she could have come clean to her vest friend and they could have found the solution together but she did none of those things and thought ruining her best friend's life would be perfect instead! She was such a bitch and there is no coming back from that so I hope Colin and her won't happen (I know they will)
Now that I think about it Eloise put herself in that situation. She should have stayed out of it like pen told her. Eloise put pen in a tight situation to be honest
