I did the same thing. Truly straight piped was way to loud. Bought a flowmaster super 10 and it made it a little deeper but was way too loud. Right now im running a 4 inch total flow resonator and a 12 inch evil energy muffler. Its still a bit loud but is much better. I plan on keeping the total flow but trying a magnaflow or dynomax chambered muffler
I went through the exact same thing keeping one muffler keeps your torque and power from the dig, I originally did exactly what you did and then slapped the one back on can hear my turbo kick in too again
So from the back of the car to the downpipe it goes muffler, center resonator, downpipe resonator and then the downpipe. That little piece is the downpipe resonator
Hi. I like your videos. Keep it going! I had the same car and I did straight pipes, and now im struggling with less torque. But what I want is the DSG gearbox fart. So can you do a video of your car shifting?
yes thanks for the support, The dsg farts come from a certain tune with timing. we can get a mild one on ours when we press the accelerator and let off softly with out breaking
Hi, i am on the way to get simillar beautifull exhaust sound from my 1.8T. Hope i will get at least near to yours 2.0T. I just mentioned that all your exhaust pipes are welded. On flow master they write that it is stainless steel, but the end resonators and pipes doesnt looks like stainless steel...How did you weld it, and do you remember where did you buy the end resonators? (link) or if not can you send me length? Thanks for answers...
Hey Bruce how are you been following you for a while now love you build I'm following your muffler design just wanted to ask you is your muffler droney with that setup ,?does it drone at 2000 RPM. Please reply let me know cause I love the sound
Hey I’m loving the car you did an awesome job. I was hoping you could tell em where exactly you got your gauge pod for the steering column. I cannot find one for the b8
Does it have to be the stock catalytic converter or will the small mid resonator work for getting torque back? Did the same and I can notice the loss of torque myself. Have a high flow cat/downpipe then straight back to a magnaflow rear muffler. LOUD!! Lol.
Yeh any thing would work, I actually, know have a high floe cat in its place. anything small would work, after that you can be straight pipe, and your torque wont be effected
@@brucecustommotors Right on man. Do you have a good link to how to convert a single exhaust to a dual? Shop said it can’t but I just need to a new dual diffuser but having a hard time find the second exhaust line to come off a Y pipe.
Hi, nice job bro. Few question to ask. After diwn pipe Inside Muffler in the middle with the "S" or straight 3? After 1st muffler go to flow muffler. Flow muffler inside straight 3inch? And last two resonator also straight? Mine is at sportback. Hopefully ok follow your formula.
@@brucecustommotors ok thanks bro. U know your k04 com wheel size and turbine wheel size? I bought k04 gtx, air intake 3 inch custom pipe and down pipe piping all 3 inch. Custom remap. Will see whp i can get. Any advise what others i should change when i change this 3 things? Tarfet 400whp above without water methanol. Mine is tfsi 2.0 turbocharged b8 longitudinal.
Hey Bruce perfect video 😂 ran into the same problems mine a little different I had straight piped my Audi A5 b8.5 from the resonater down and had a catback downpipe and the stock catalytic converter and still had all my torque on stage one in first gear and then when I had removed the stock converter and installed a high flow cat and went to stage 2 this thing was wayyyyy too loud because of the straight airflow from the high flow cat down and I noticed I had lost all my torque when doing a pull in first gear and I’m guessing I do need some kind of back pressure for that torque. I need to find a muffler to dampen this sound but make it sound good as well and I’m having trouble what ones would you recommend??

I have a 2016 Audi A3 2.0t s line and want to make it sound nice and loud. What should I do to improve sound I can’t really find any videos on this car
- deathstroke76797 you won’t believe but our engines are extremely loud, the bigger the engine the deeper the sound. However. If you put a down pipe on your car and eliminate the muffler only in the rear towards the end of your bumper you will get a nice aggressive sound with a deep roar. If you won’t a even better sound you can replace the middle muffler with an aftermarket part of your choice and it will create a nice sound. It’s kind of like using a trombone or trumpet 🎺, different sounds for different instruments all doh you blow the same. Listen to my video of my exhaust. I have flo masters series 10 , and I have a link in the description
hey what do you mean by straight pipe just removed the two resonators and muffler? because i have removed one resonator and one muffler with one resonator left.
Lol yeh believe it or not it’s the catalyst I added, I put it in place of the oem resonator, for back pressure and emission fumes, thanks for the support 🙏🙏🙏🙏
PantherZL1 honestly I feel that 2.0t 4 is the bang for your buck. Put it like this with the right amount of mods, you can pass up all . I’m currently faster, than an s5 4.2 v8 and s5 3.0t which has about 350 hp. I’m currently at 423, now if you ad a super charger to a v8 you’re on an entire new level, but it’s rare because it runs 8k to do so. The reason I’m not talking about the v6 because it’s comparable to the 4 cylinder in specs. The 4 cylinder was a replacement of the v6 3.2 for the better. So you’re better off with the 2.0t, because you can do so much more with it
PantherZL1 lol , I actually bought one , when people were talking about it, and it’s been sitting in my garage for a year, most likely, if you buy a car after 2012 it should be ok, the dealerships replaced most of them in an extended 80 k warranty, till this day, they honor oil consumption, and timing chain, but I honestly have not had any issues, and I drive really hard.
Hey Bruce…I’m also discovering the annoyance of the fumes after straight piping…did you install a catted down pipe in its original position near turbo or were you able to install somewhere down exhaust with good results as well? Thanks
I have a high flow cat down pipe and then after that its a straight pipe and man its so loud. Ill just put a small muffler to quiet it down a bit if i end up getting pulled over.
