I believe what he means is, as for exercise, a Swimmingpool is far less impactful to your joints and spine, but still a solid form of exercise. He’s just saying that had he had access to a pool, that he might would’ve been more physically active without accelerating his condition.

I think one of the things that makes Ben "cringe" as well is because the way he sees the topic is too simple and matter-of-fact. It's a far more complex thing that just "choosing not to put certain food in your mouth and chew it".

I know this video is super old and all, but while I agree with Paul that there are several factors that can affect your weight, at this point of his life, he could have easily lost weight. He was and still is a podcaster who sits around talking at the camera. He no longer worked 70hr weeks at Starbucks or whatever other job he worked. All these excuses are more understandable if you're one of those people who works all day and doesn't have the time or energy to cook and eat healthy .
I don't smoke cigs, and I'm 170lbs now, which is the same weight I was in this video. Where are you getting your information from? Love how delusional Paul was here 😂 ”I didn’t grow up around a swimmingpool ”

Yeah except he actually did grow up with a swimming pool xD

Paul did get a little salty here, but when he said to Ben "why do you roast people like a Frankfurter over the flame" I felt that.

The whole "faster metabolism" thing is majorly overstated. Absolutely no evidence to suggest it makes that much of a difference.
@@joep7586 Maybe overstated to an extent but saying it has no impact at all would be silly
@@shadownite3378 I didn't say it makes no impact, but it is waaaaaaay far down on the list of variables for the average person trying to lose weight.

You can alter your metabolic rate through your behavior. Ie working out or being active, and eating less or more of certain foods.
