    I went to school for this but never finished it, however I understand the rules, I was going to get me a fluke multimeter but being its super expensive, bought the same one you got in this video and the reason is for true RMS that was the rule we learned in school was to make sure our tools was accurate no matter the price. Happy I found your informative channel here so I can pick up where I left off. Keep up the outstanding information, its super helpful and educational. Big thanks.

    I did find a similar multimeter to the one you show on the video here in the UK - the UNI-T UT61E. Is this one good and reliable? It is much more expensive than the ones I had in the past but I will go for it if it will give me many years of good service.

    There is a neat way to save the fuses in your meter. You can install an inline fuse holder on the negative cable of the meter and have it around 80% the max rating of the internal fuse. That will blow before the internal fuse. Might not be useful for the mA scale but good for the 10A scale.

    Okay, stupid question but I've been trying to figure this out with another device. At 3:31 when the MM is recording 0.374 A. Is this effectively 374 mA being drawn per hour by the LED?
    I'm attempting to understand how to do this as I mod Sega Game Gears with a LED backlight and would like to know what the new amp hours are. I remove a bunch of components that power the old light source and want to know what the reduction in power is. Originally, the device is rated at DC 9V 3A (that 3A kills batteries!).

    • @isoProxanol
      @isoProxanol 7 років тому

      Ah or mAh are written on a battery and give information about the capacity.
      So when you got a battery with 3740 mAh and you connect the LED, it will light up for 10 hours.
      t=Q/I = 3740 mAh / 374 mA = 10h
