James Toney by far is one of my favorite fighters of all time but he is a walking example as to why these guys no longer fight the way guys did back in the day. In a perfect world we would see the best fight the best with no consequences but unfortunately the reality of a combat sport is accrued and accumulated damage.
He’s right tho canelo would literally be called a duck that era if he tested positive for roids back there he would’ve been seen as a cheater but since his fans always protect him they try to have that not talked about wb the franchise belt thing as well he made up a whole belt to duck his tough mandatories he couldn’t have done that in that era either he would’ve either had to fight or get out the way or stay at a weight class he knows he can easily win at and competition will never be in
