Great game in City's history. The recent game at St James Park also 4-3 brings back so many memories. I dedicate City's current title success to all the city greats of the past, especially Colin Bell, Neil Young, Glynn Pardoe, Mick Doyle and George Heslop.
I was 12 years old, standing at the front of the Gallowgate End. Tremendous game. I never thought I would see footage of the action all these years later. Thank you for posting.
Wonderful day I went there with my Brother In Law .A very special time .Nice gesture by Newcastle as at the final whistle they played Congratulations which was high in the charts at the time. It was a sea of Blue travelling down the A1 after the match.
Support neither Club but vividly remember this game. Standing with your mates in the serried ranks of a packed crowd close to the pitch was what Football was all about before money ruined it...
i was there that day i was 12 city aboute 8 to 10 thousand fans that day great game just before all the holigans came into game city fans all over the ground even in the leazes end everyone standing cant go back pity nufc won nowt butt still love them youre turn now city fans enjoy youre winning
I remember avidly discussing this game at school the following Monday. United lost at home to Southampton, 2-1, I think, so if City had lost they would still have been champions.

I was at this match with my brother and father, great game, possibly the best I have ever watched.
Which team do you support?
City of course
@@jeffhallworth4832 Fair play mate. A lot of Newcastle fans seem to have good memories of this match as well which is good.
@@jeffhallworth4832 That's amazing, being born in 2004 I can't wrap my head around what it was like back then. Was hooliganism as bad as people say ?
@@ceostreams No very little hooliganism
Thanks mate,, and congratulations to Manchester City on winning the premier league on the same day 46 years later 11/5/2014!!!
I was there on the Poplar Side. Superb game.

Matches didn't get 23 minutes of injury time in those days.
That must be the biggest away following that St James Park has ever seen ..... City fans were everywhere.
The only time that Newcastle officials had/have ever seen more away support than home support a St James’ park!
Makes you wonder where all those blues came from.
In 1965/66 city had 8,000 at a home game.
@Only one U-NI-TED Same with United in 1930's vs Arsenal and today... No?
I’m here because of the daily mail writing about it

It was Sunderland and I think 1 nil
Correct 1-2 loss at Old Trafford, but obviously the European cup was at Old Trafford soon after.
Who's the commentator
Kenneth Wolstenholme I reckon. CTID
@Jack Leyden I still reckon it's Kenneth W olstenholme. Is there a clip of George Taylor's commentary on YT for a voice comparison?
It's definatly NOT K.W.
George Bayley is the commentator.
George Taylor presented the programme.
