20. Great King Rat (Queen-Live In Milan: 9/14/1984)

Buona sera i miei amici! Gregsynth is here to show yet ANOTHER Queen concert for all of you wonderful people! This is the Queen's first concert in Italy, and the first of two consecutive nights (I will upload the 9/15/1984 gig next)! The quality is great (Around an A rating), and Queen plays excellent as usual. Although Freddie is in pretty good shape vocally, it is clear that the years of touring, smoking, and the worsening nodule problem have damaged his voice: He is really starting to get into the "oversinging" problem where he would begin to yell/shout or bark out some of the higher notes to hit them. As a result, he sounds deeper and more powerful, but at the expense of any sweetness and clarity he had before. That being said, that certainly doesn't take anything away from Freddie's voice. or this concert. This concert features the last performance of "Staying Power" (It's dropped because it is very difficult to sing on a touring schedule), and poor Brian is the victim of a string break (around the ending of Keep Yourself Alive). Freddie and Roger gives Brian some time to get another guitar by doing a very neat improv!

They were mostly pissed at the album, not the tour.
The Hot Space songs sounded less funky, and had a more 'rock-feel' live.
