Main stream hip hop was (still imo) really going off the rails for a while cuz these youngins are so hell bent on making their own sound that they lost sight of creating quality music. Mumble rap, emo rap, rapping to metal..all acts of desperation to be “different”. Then turn around and lie to everyone including themselves saying that they think it’s good and they like it. Then us “old heads” keep it real and label it booty as it should be..that’s when we get called closed minded or not open to new rap. Idk though just my opinion.
