SPOILERS Well Allen is not dead, he is just in coma. And I am sure that Desmond will be able to do something with that with his new abilities. And at least we saved Lucas. But Desmond tbh is pretty bad at psychology.

(Not Allen though) Like, even I know what words could stop Max from leaving in the middle of the session, and I am no psychologist. I am sure that if Desmond said that goind to visit the quarry is not going to help his daughter, he would stay. In Virginia's case, I actually do agree with Rainbow who said that Desmond could save her but was too busy looking at her scars. Desmond actually reccomended to a person with a fear of crowded places to go in a one! I think that Virginia could sirvive if only Desmond reccomended her to, for example, ask neigbours to buy her products and pay them instead of goind to the mall, or at least wear a mask and sunglasses.

This song perfectly describes what it's like to grow up with depression. It's even worse when you grow up with parental problems, you isolate yourself into this "dark tunnel" of loneliness, because you're even more scared of the bottom of the pit that is rejection that you're so tired of and already have experience with. Doesn't help either that you're also young and therefore can't "see but two feet" in front of you, so you don't know how to get out of it and get the self esteem that you need to help yourself. True depression is a violent ocean that can be troubling to get out of if you never learn how to help yourself out of it. Everyone deserves to be loved, so try to find some for yourself, ok? Things can get better if you decide that you want them to be, but that's a commitment that some people have to do without any support, which is why it's important to find someone to talk to first. There's always someone out there who understands you, so don't stay silent. If you're in need of a captain then find someone with experience and befriend them!

I can give you three baseline tips that saved me: take care of your general health and everyday well being before you strive for greater things, invest in knowing how to make yourself healthier and happier. To start off with, learn the basics of nutrition. Why eggs are healthy, why omega-3 is vital, and how to eat healthy and cook simple foods. That's nutrition, one of the cornerstones to a healthy life. Another one is sleep. Make sure that you have a bed that fits your body type and weight, it won't just make your sleep better but you'll feel better all day if your body doesn't hurt all day. Last cornerstone is exercise, but here's what everyone forgets: stretching. You can run, bike, swim, lift weights, but if you don't know how to stretch then it's easy to relapse and get lazy again. So you're gonna have to look up the stretch relevant to your interests. The one everyday stretch that i can recommend UNIVERSALLY doing every day is one that stretches your calves, and your lumbar spine. Stand with straight knees and lower your fingertips as close to the floor as you can. If it hurts then that's your muscles telling you that you're stiff. Do this stretch daily and hold for at least 10 seconds where it hurts the most. Eventually you'll be able to put your palms on the floor. I tell you this because this is the one stretch that saved me from obesity when i was severely overweight, since it allows your legs and back to keep working. I actually enjoy the soundtrack better than undertale/deltarune I find myself listening to the ambience and background music that you usually don’t notice in game The only other games that got that far with their soundtrack was Minecraft and boneworks

Allen's story was so sad man The saddest in my opinion. Also In Sound Mind is just- idk how to describe it ....its special?...Like you can compare your condition to Allen's or Virginia's..... You know? Also what happend to Allen was in my opinion to sad EDIT: after reading alot of comments i found out that Allen is actually ALIVE 🎉 He is just in a coma
You can compare yourself with every patient in the game, all characters are amazingly writen Im more of a Max and Allen person myself But i can understand how others can identify themselves with Lucas and Virginia. But im just happy that finally theres a depiction in media of a person that has IED and Anger Issues that doesnt portray them as a bad person, but as a victim of such problems.
The saddest thing of the song for me is that Allen said that he'd rather see the end of the tunnel (to be dead) than the bottom of the pit (to sucumb to his madness)... and then you realised that he didn't die, but he is in coma, suffering his nightmares forever (until Desmond saved him, at least).
@@mellodees3663 I wish that's the correct interpretation, although I think it would be weird to say "I admit I rather be cured than give up", when that's something you don't have to "admit", as it would something to be ashamed. But admiting you rather be dead than in your actual state... it's darker but with more sense.

I was at a very low part of my life when I first found this song, I kept listening and I found some words that will stick with me for a long time. I don't really like saying this sort of stuff in a comment but it's not like anyone's gonna see this but me.
The music nerd in me is so happy to believe that everyone's deepest, most honest part of their subconscious is a really rockin' song playing in the back of your mind. This game was amazing and the soundtrack even more so. You outdid yourselves TLT! 💗
One thing I love about tlt songs is that if you listen closely in of most of there songs you can hear a second voice quieter and following closely behind the main vocals
I haven't even finished _In Sound Mind_ yet, but this has to be my favorite track so far. 'A Doll's House' and 'Is It Me?' are pretty close seconds. While I'm not schizophrenic myself (I have PTSD & GAD), I definitely sympathize with Allen. The feeling of being anxious, restless, slightly "off" and never knowing why. But still holding onto that hope that things will get better. Like at 0:40 when he reflects on Desmond telling him he's "Flawed, but fixable"; I'm currently in therapy now and even when I relapse, my therapist gives me the courage to not let my trauma control me. So I see myself that way, too. Being flawed, but fixable. Also, 3:13...just 3:13. That part gives me the best chill when it comes on, it just makes me wanna sing along!! I don't know how you do it, TLT, but you made a sea shanty I can listen to for hours on end.

Dang I can honestly relate.. yesterday was awful, my old best friend posted a video to tik tok saying I was a "bad decision" posting old pictures of her and I and I gotta admit that hurt. I stayed strong in front of everyone but as soon as night hit I broke down crying. It seemed like everyone didnt care they just pushed me away.. this song just did something crazy and made me feel so much better, thank you🙂

This is my favorite of all the songs in this game. That line "I'd rather see the dark end of the tunnel than the bottom of a pit" just hits me right at home. You know it seams really stupid for sea men that are famously superstitious to name the ship USS Thanatos which is ancient Greek for DEATH! Also considering that Thanatos in Greek mythology is the Chthonic god of peace full death unlike his sister(s) Keres the goddess(es) of violent death. They essentially made it accident proof, but true to the ironic form like the Titanic was named the unsinkable, USS Thanatos ended more in pieces than peacefully.

Considering this song is about depression and lots of people in the comments seem to relate personally to this song, Just thought I'd add this here: Though I have never experienced depression personally and cannot begin to imagine what it would feel like to have that constant turmoil within yourself, I at least understand that it is hard. You feel like you can't get out of the pit- it's so deep and hard to climb- you may as well be in a murky glass tunnel. All efforts for anyone to reach out to you, or for you to reach out to anyone, is greatly distorted. You may misinterpret what they say, and this "Glass", so to speak, distorts their faces and words so that you feel that they are patronising, hating and judging. This glass also distorts your reflection, too. You see yourself in ways that nobody else sees you; you feel guilty just for having feelings at all, and you wish you didn't. To escape this tunnel, you feel that your only way out is death. I understand that there is far more to depression than this, and my description would barely scrape the surface. If you are reading this and feel depressed, or even just down or with self-blame; Firstly, you are not alone. And that, even if you don't believe it, shows just that what you feel isn't something to feel guilty for; it does not ostracize you as being inadequate. It is not your fault for having emotions, it makes you human. Even if you feel like you don't, even if you do not know people, there will always be someone to listen - talk to them. You don't need to go through a storm such as this alone. It may be hard, but believe in yourself, like we believe in you. There's no rush, don't feel as though you have to force yourself to be better right away or else- take your time. I know that it is hard, and when researching how to attempt to leave such a bottomless pit seems to get you nowhere, but there is always a way out. If it feels dark, and you can only see one path, know that there are many paths- the may just not have been travelled quite yet. Keep going strong- you have come this far and even if it feels like you have not moved, you have come a long way, and worked harder than many can even begin to imagine. It's two years late for an interpretation, but here's what I got. The song is quite obviously about depression but I feel the 'Bottom of the pit' is a metaphor about how bad depression can get. This is because of how the phrase relates in my mind to 'Hitting rock bottom' meaning to be at one's worst. In addition to phrases like "I'd rather be dead on your couch" the dark end of the tunnel can be seen as death. Usually the 'light at the end of the tunnel' represents heaven or whatever paradise one believes in. To rather see the 'dark end of the tunnel' means that the singer doesn't care about what happens as long as the can escape the 'pit'. To summarise the singer would rather die than see how much worse things could get, a wish to die rather than continue suffering.
I hate it so much that I keep playing this song again. And again. And again. AND I JUST CAN'T STOP! THIS SONG IS SO GREAT AND I JUST... I JUST... AHHHH!!! I DON'T KNOW WHAT! I honestly like these themes played through the songs. Theres a feeling of regret, of euphoria, of emptiness, and of anger played through these 4 songs
I can find a huge part of myself in Allen so this song kind of hits me hard. Also, I can see people I personally know in the other vinyls. These vinyls are very underrated for how much it complements the game. I can recall the story plot just by listening to the vinyls.
Sight spoilers for the game: Kindla must suck for allen to try and face his fears only to be paid back with fatal burns and being in coma, oh and also being in NLH Hospital, technically if you think about it he almost suffered the same fate as the main character in NH2 it just that he wasnt protected from the fires

This game will most likely have one of the best osts of all time, rivaling games like Undertale in song quality.
I actually enjoy the soundtrack better than undertale/deltarune I find myself listening to the ambience and background music that you usually don’t notice in game
The only other games that got that far with their soundtrack was Minecraft and boneworks

These songs hit harder knowing that not only did your character fail to help solve their problems, but that the guy you’re hunting is the one that caused their deaths.
And the fact that at least thousands of people had to go through the trauma of seeing everyone's demons and not even being able to tell up from down

The saddest thing of the song for me is that Allen said that he'd rather see the end of the tunnel (to be dead) than the bottom of the pit (to sucumb to his madness)... and then you realised that he didn't die, but he is in coma, suffering his nightmares forever (until Desmond saved him, at least).
I saw this as more of a hopeful song. He'd rather move forward not knowing what will happen than just lie down and give up.
@@mellodees3663 I wish that's the correct interpretation, although I think it would be weird to say "I admit I rather be cured than give up", when that's something you don't have to "admit", as it would something to be ashamed.
But admiting you rather be dead than in your actual state... it's darker but with more sense.

I was at a very low part of my life when I first found this song, I kept listening and I found some words that will stick with me for a long time. I don't really like saying this sort of stuff in a comment but it's not like anyone's gonna see this but me.
The music nerd in me is so happy to believe that everyone's deepest, most honest part of their subconscious is a really rockin' song playing in the back of your mind. This game was amazing and the soundtrack even more so. You outdid yourselves TLT! 💗

I haven't even finished _In Sound Mind_ yet, but this has to be my favorite track so far. 'A Doll's House' and 'Is It Me?' are pretty close seconds.
While I'm not schizophrenic myself (I have PTSD & GAD), I definitely sympathize with Allen. The feeling of being anxious, restless, slightly "off" and never knowing why. But still holding onto that hope that things will get better.
Like at 0:40 when he reflects on Desmond telling him he's "Flawed, but fixable"; I'm currently in therapy now and even when I relapse, my therapist gives me the courage to not let my trauma control me. So I see myself that way, too. Being flawed, but fixable.
Also, 3:13...just 3:13. That part gives me the best chill when it comes on, it just makes me wanna sing along!!

I stayed strong in front of everyone but as soon as night hit I broke down crying. This is my favorite of all the songs in this game. That line "I'd rather see the dark end of the tunnel than the bottom of a pit" just hits me right at home.

You know it seams really stupid for sea men that are famously superstitious to name the ship USS Thanatos which is ancient Greek for DEATH!
Also considering that Thanatos in Greek mythology is the Chthonic god of peace full death unlike his sister(s) Keres the goddess(es) of violent death.
They essentially made it accident proof, but true to the ironic form like the Titanic was named the unsinkable, USS Thanatos ended more in pieces than peacefully.

Considering this song is about depression and lots of people in the comments seem to relate personally to this song, Just thought I'd add this here:
Though I have never experienced depression personally and cannot begin to imagine what it would feel like to have that constant turmoil within yourself, I at least understand that it is hard. You feel like you can't get out of the pit- it's so deep and hard to climb- you may as well be in a murky glass tunnel. All efforts for anyone to reach out to you, or for you to reach out to anyone, is greatly distorted. You may misinterpret what they say, and this "Glass", so to speak, distorts their faces and words so that you feel that they are patronising, hating and judging.
This glass also distorts your reflection, too. You see yourself in ways that nobody else sees you; you feel guilty just for having feelings at all, and you wish you didn't. To escape this tunnel, you feel that your only way out is death. I understand that there is far more to depression than this, and my description would barely scrape the surface.
If you are reading this and feel depressed, or even just down or with self-blame; Firstly, you are not alone. And that, even if you don't believe it, shows just that what you feel isn't something to feel guilty for; it does not ostracize you as being inadequate. It is not your fault for having emotions, it makes you human. Even if you feel like you don't, even if you do not know people, there will always be someone to listen - talk to them. You don't need to go through a storm such as this alone. It may be hard, but believe in yourself, like we believe in you. There's no rush, don't feel as though you have to force yourself to be better right away or else- take your time. I know that it is hard, and when researching how to attempt to leave such a bottomless pit seems to get you nowhere, but there is always a way out. If it feels dark, and you can only see one path, know that there are many paths- the may just not have been travelled quite yet. Keep going strong- you have come this far and even if it feels like you have not moved, you have come a long way, and worked harder than many can even begin to imagine. I'm no therapist, and if you feel this way, please see someone who can help you. You will get there someday :)
It's two years late for an interpretation, but here's what I got.
The song is quite obviously about depression but I feel the 'Bottom of the pit' is a metaphor about how bad depression can get. This is because of how the phrase relates in my mind to 'Hitting rock bottom' meaning to be at one's worst. In addition to phrases like "I'd rather be dead on your couch" the dark end of the tunnel can be seen as death. Usually the 'light at the end of the tunnel' represents heaven or whatever paradise one believes in. To rather see the 'dark end of the tunnel' means that the singer doesn't care about what happens as long as the can escape the 'pit'.
To summarise the singer would rather die than see how much worse things could get, a wish to die rather than continue suffering.
I relate to these lyrics so hard. Thank you guys for creating such a fantastic song.
