Another unit suffers from the hybrid syndrome where the devs can't decide what specialization the unit should fit in so it's bad at everything.
Hybrids in games, tend to be either terrible at both or better at both than the mono purpose units.
On frontier it get buffed. 30 models and better skill.
Give them access to shield doctrines and jav doctrines. Then they would be awesome. You could build them full shield tank and just make a frontline that can wreck ranged and cav

I love them they look awesome and work as line breakers/second line because they charge up and smash the line then you use your 1 order to get the ones who you just exposed
I'd like to do some corrections namely the charging throw and the throw distance. First the charged throw doesnt deal more damage the longer you hold it, there is simply a 4 second lock out before you can reactive it with the total duration being 8 seconds. Second there is a limit on the distance but for most cases you wont be throwing over 100 metres.
That doesn’t sound right at all. If the charging doesn’t do more damage then what the hell is it for???😂
@@JustinM3177 I think he meant that the maximum damage of the charged throw is reached after channeling for 4 seconds and waiting more than 4 seconds is useless because it won't increase the damage.
@@JustinM3177 for clarification the charged throw does twice as much damage vs your normal throw. My correction is that there is no extra damage if you hold it you will do the same amount if you reactive the ability immediately or at the very last moment.

They have ridiculous range tbh. I’ve gotten sniped by these guys from really far away a couple of times
I think what that unit needs is a special passive. Could make Javs haves pierce multiple enemies, could give them bleed or poison damage after a jav hits. Could even give them a passive that applies to thier shields, like make melee attacks get pushed back, or melee attackers take some kind of damage when hitting the shields. Just something that makes them worth using, makes them worth taking I stead of imperial javs. But I really think their javs should stun or stagger what they hit.

In Asia server we have 30 count for them and charge throw lights up when ready to throw
After using them in many games, I can say they are a meh unit. They can kill heroes like any jav but struggle with some things: 1. Blunt dmg against tower shields(dont even think they can bust through those), and unit kills(the dmg in general isnt too great against units and it requires alot of shots to get like 40+ unit kills). They do have great range with their throw and decent aim so there is potential
I think the devs intended to make them Shield wall that can ruin ranged and slightly armored units like halberds/disrupt cav charges. Instead we get very durable low dps javs.
Given that those units should have been purple roman units by design (Legions were built on hevay tower shield infantry with throwing spears) its really disappointing.
Edit: they also should have the turtle block formation for cosplay reasons.

Best way is to aim behind what you want to hit cause they aim so straight, otherwise you're gonna fall short of your target. Vet lime needs work, chances of hitting a charging unit is probably never gonna happen so I went split. Fun unit but jav sergeants impact more.
They are wasting time to charge up that power bar, I could see 2 ways we can make them more competitive. Either their charged throw can pierce up to 3 enemies behind shields or their charged throw ignore def stats.
Just give them shield doctrines. That way you can build defensive walls that provoke enemy attacks and prohibit camping till enough blob units are assembled.
Maybe if they increased the ark you could put all defense on them and use them as a frontline anti ranged unit against guns

U don’t want these guys, they’re not that great. Kriegsbruders are one of the best purple cavs and are really good. If u really want javs, u can get imp javs or jav sarges
I personally enjoy man at arms personally I enjoy the Japanese units. All three of them are fun but the girl is great in general

they def need a buff basicaly all they are good for is guarding peoples longbows, also in shield formation they should do more melle hits and in melle combat generaly, they should be better
This is really random but are monastic knights still viable? The only videos I can find of them are from 3 years ago, and I don’t know if they’re worth spending my honor rather than some other tier 5 cavalry unit.
I think they are okay but other t5 cavs are better...the hussars

The video would be better after the patch because they get more ammo, unit size 30 and they automatically throw after reaching max charge
i myself dont like the auto throw after max charge, you could actually create a nice traps with the releace button.
@@Mr.Hishprung you can still release but before the patch you could lose your max charge if the time expired now it throws.

Their shiltron formation bugs me a lot. At the very least they need enough headcount to at least complete the formation. This would also slightly buff their damage output which is severely underwhelming at the moment, as well as their defensive capability, which is also underwhelming. Neither buff would make them OP in the slightest, but would at least make them somewhat capable comparable to other units at their leadership level.

maybe its a unit for people like me who arent good with ranged. u place them wrong? they are tanky. U stand too far away for a normal throw? they can throw very, very far.
Для игры в соло юнит не интересен, так как сильно уступает обычным застрельщикам с мастерство, а вот для игры в группе для прикрытия друга на мушкетах и иногда нанесения урона он вполне нормален, в остальном механика заряда броска бесполезна так как попасть часто будет тяжело и это урон в некуда.
This is just sad because even if they buff them, they tried to create a role that wasn’t there in the first place, and so they will always be overshadowed by imp javs.
They already buff theme. Only myg dont get that update
I think outrider do more damage than this units. Thankfully the best unit in this season is the blur one.
I assume you meant "blue" one, but given they zoom around the battlefield, it fits as well
@@K.B98 yeah typo haha. This unit is fit in situation where you and enemies look at each other and none make a move. Kinda to force people to do something, either move or pushback

So now they are useless in two specialisations (jav and tower) 😂 Flawed by design. DOA. If you're guna try and contest the godlike status of imp javs you need to bring a lot more to the table. Pray the t5 is any good i guess.. although without any way to self heal, it aint looking good, especially when they are going to be directly contesting MAA LOL.
