    I was very open to respect Savannah's decision to take the crown. However, the fact that she could confidently say the allegations are false when she was not there says a lot about Savannah's poor character. I've always got a mean girl vibe from Savannah and she confirmed it with this interview.

      Nothing like Miss Universe Brooke Lee from Hawaii who is the OG unforgettable winner. Savannah was only about herself. Good thing they blocked Savannah because its very obvious Savannah can’t be trusted with her big mouth.

      I agree. When she took the crown and I read her initial statement it seemed she was going into this role being more neutral while still showing support towards Noelia. To Bodley say the accusations are false and “doing a job that she couldn’t do” is pathetic and made me lose a lot of respect for her.

    Miss USA tried to charge the contestants for the shoes that Jojo Bragais sponsored. Lol.
    And they said $200 is the 'discounted' price per pair? $300 for the nude ones.
    Jojo Bragais never charge if he sponsors pageants, even for smaller city and provincial pageants here in the Philippines.
    Also, the amount they tried to charge the girls for a pair? Bragais pageant shoes retails between $ 75 - $100 a pair.
    They tried to charge the girls double the retail amount for shoes that they got for free.

    The Miss USA organization made her the woman that she is today?! Girl, you were Miss USA for two months. And to all it an "organization" is a joke. When Paula ran it, it was an organization. After Crystle took over, it became a joke. She has what 2 or 3 employees working for her now?! They just now over a week after the pageant updated the website. And Alma Cooper has done one interview as Miss USA. And the only reason that she got that interview was because Lu Parker, Miss USA 1994, was a judge and works for the station that interviewed her. Mess USA! Love the shade, girlfriend! I think the worst part of removing any past Misses from the website except for their crowning is that it emphasizes the misguided notion in the public's mind that pageants are about pretty girls in evening gowns competing for a crown. In fact, these women (at all levels) spend the overwhelming majority of their time in community service and public appearances that are geared toward fundraising.

    • @AnimalLover2400
      @AnimalLover2400 2 місяці тому +1

      What community service did Noelia do besides that one time going to a school or something ?

    • @anakreyszig303
      @anakreyszig303 2 місяці тому

      @@AnimalLover2400 I believe (please correct me if I am incorrect on this issue) one of the major more or less public issues Noelia faced during her reign was the fact that the Miss USA organization did not book the usual (or any, really) events for her, and for various reasons (liability, the fact that when you are Miss _____, you are not yourself, the individual, but a representative of the organization), she could not pick up the phone and book events for herself -- the organization had to do it for her. If you look through this channel, there is a video called "Where is Miss USA" (or something along those lines), evidencing the fact that the Miss USA organization failed to book Noelia for much of anything. Again, the LR era of Miss USA keeps sending the message that Miss USA is nothing more than a pageant where they crown a pretty girl in an evening gown. The main reason I have loved and supported the pageant world is because of its focus on community service.

  • @reidwortham

    Hi Dani! Long time lurker here. I love your channel! I attended finals night for Miss USA 2024 with a friend who had previously been interested in competing. It was a childhood dream of mine and a bucket list item. Prior to this, I had only been to state pageants. Without a doubt, the state pageants I attended in years past were more organized, professional, and an overall better experience.
    I went back and forth on whether or not to buy tickets, because of all of the allegations against the current leadership and how they have handled criticism and concerns with such a lack of professionalism. Ultimately we decided to go, because we were already in DTLA that weekend for work. Also, as you've mentioned in several of your videos, the girls have worked extremely hard to reach that stage and deserve support. It's not the contestants fault that the current leadership is a red hot mess. So, we went. Not surprisingly, it was overall an absolute nightmare and an embarrassment.
    It was so bad that I have even considered making a video about our experience. I had several points to mention , some of which you covered in this video, but there are also a few things that those who saw the live telecast wouldn't have seen or noticed. Unfortunately, I am not sure anyone would watch it or care, because so many pageant fans have given up on Miss USA, at least until there is new leadership. I also have zero experience making videos for UA-cam or any other platform. Do you think there would be any interest in something like this?
    Again, I love your channel. I first came here for pageant content, but have taken away so much more from your videos. So much of the pageant advice you give can be applied to public speaking and interview skills for anyone. It has helped me tremendously in my professional life. So, for that- thank you so much! I've been working on a charity drive for a monument for Lahaina. I guess rather than contact Savannah who is probably in Bali, I'll talk with Brook Lee (Miss USA '97) for some help (she's a Facebook friend). I'm really surprised that this year's contestants weren't supplied with shoes. What was the purpose of JoJo being a sponsor if he wasn't going to at least provide some shoes? You mark my words, Laylah Rose will lose him as a sponsor too. Even though Laylah Rose owns Miss USA, the franchise is still under the umbrella of the Miss Universe Organization. I wonder if Anne knows about what is going on here in the States, or if she even cares for that matter. I really hope that Alma doesn't have as rough a year as Noelia and UmaSofia did. Two things. 1. Miss USA has been a reactive organization under LR’s “leadership,” when it needs to be proactive.
    2. The telecast could have easily memorialized the first Miss USA during that awkward LR speech and 10-15 seconds where she and the other woman lived their Price is Right fantasies by gesturing at the new crown and scepter.

    Is this Miss USA or Survivor? This is truly atrocious to see from a once prestige pageant. I really want to say kind words about this system since I broke into pageantry with them but "free for all " wardrobes and inadequate meals is NOT how things should be ran at national level pageant. Secondly, the way that the judges got more screen time than most girls who worked their asses off to be there is appalling. Third, they haven't a clue on what to do with their winners. ten days in and they're just posting Alma's interview from August 4th and recycling her crowning pics over and over. Last, I just fume at the mention that it took three girls to fall before Laylah before the pit got closed, truly disastrous!

There were TWO former Miss USA’s among the judges, Carole Gist 1990…AND Lu Parker, the last Miss USA crowned from South Carolina in 1994, and Lu was not even mentioned with the former Miss USA’s!!!! I am thinking that she could possibly be filling in for another judge that cancelled on Layla Rose at the last minute and she was a quick choice since she has lived in Los Angeles since 2005 where she is the anchor at KTLA news AND SHE IS A QUALIFIED JUDGE!!!!! There is no explanation for why Lu Parker was left out of honoring the past Miss USA’s bc she was literally sitting in a judges chair in front of the stage!!!! What is wrong with this scenario???????

    I am by no means a pageant girlie, so my base knowledge on most of this is pretty useless.
    I am, however, a healthcare provider whose primary patient base is young women. And I'm also a very passionate, very loud social justice activist. And that stuff about the meals? That made me vociferously angry.
    You mentioned the impacts that not getting meals could have on even perfectly healthy contestants who are just busy and need their fuel, as well as on those with blood sugar issues like diabetes - all true. But you know where my mind went immediately? Eating disorders.
    About 20 million American women have an active eating disorder or are in recovery from one. And they concentrate significantly in image-conscious populations - like, I dunno, pageant contestants. I'd bet my next paycheck that there were at LEAST a couple women in this competition who have struggled or are currently struggling with eating disorders and all the physical and psychological hell they bring with them.
    You're 1000000000% right that a failure to provide adequate, timely food to these women endangered their health and safety. I am wondering how many of them were set back in their recoveries from disordered eating by this organization's negligence.

    I feel so bad for Alma, I have a feeling she knew was getting herself into and hopefully prepared herself for the worst. Being Miss USA isn’t just about going to Miss Universe. Alma is smart and has such a strong resume that she’ll excel at MU but will she have nothing else to make her reign substantial and fulfilling? Miss USA org is on the same level of the Miss Kyrgyzstan org at this point in time. Maya from Kyrgyzstan hasn’t had any financial support from her organization and has payed for everything out of pocket, and she has made some insane photoshoots and productions all on her own will and ability, she edits all the photos and videos herself, she pays and schedules the location, the makeup artists, the photographer, the rentals, etc. Maya has been able to accomplish so much on her own because her org won’t do any of it for her but she was crowned in 2023 so she’s had time. Two organizations with not enough funds to support their title holders the difference: one is small central Asian country that’s not super well off versus literally the country with the highest GDP in the world.

    If Laylah tries to exploit the current Miss USA like what she did with Noelia and Uma.
    Well, that will turn into a WWII.
    So Laylah, don't mess up with someone with a military background, because if you dare to put a gun on someone in order to take control of them. Well, that gun will point back to you and will cause damages that you will regret for life. It's more painful than a actual gunshot.
    So never ever try to exploit anyone.

    😳😱 W…T…F! Wowwww! Dani, thanks so much for this info. I’m telling you, I’ve been a fan of pageants for YEARS. So much so, I became a successful pageant competitor from the age of 17 until I competed and also winning my last pageant at age 25. I go back to when Bob Barker was the regular host of Miss USA. And though I know the current Miss USA pageant debacle isn’t the only pageant scandal over the years, THIS is SHOCKING! These are very accomplished women, some of whom prepare themselves for years to compete in THE, if not one of, the OG’s of pageantry. These candidates…do NOT…deserve the shabby treatment they’ve been receiving.
    The Miss Universe pageant started in the United States. And despite the downturn of interests in pageantry in the US, we should be setting the tone. Every year during pageant season, we see all the queens from many other so-called pageant power counties with their queens glammed up to within an inch of their lives in photo shoots, wearing glamorous gowns, being seen preparing for the beautiful spectacle that culminates up to the Miss Universe pageants. We see countries with lesser resources putting on better quality competition shows. Many of their candidates come well sourced for competition.
    I remember when the Miss USA pageant…for years…was of Miss Universe quality. The very name of Miss USA carried clout and it had the prestige to back that up. Now, it actually seems that Layla Rose is a plant meant to take down the Miss USA organization. Granted, that sounds admittedly dramatic but it’s one thing to not be able to deliver to candidates and titleholders financially…but why the rudeness and stress we’re finding these titleholders are allegedly being subjected to?! Kindness is free.
    And, what in hell sense does it make to shut down Alma’s social media account weeks before Miss Universe? It is those accounts that many pageant influencers use when they make their prediction videos. Alma is showing up less and less on those. Alma NEEDS this promotion and that could also benefit the Miss USA organization…ESPECIALLY if they’re strapped for money. By the way, where is the money going? Maybe someone should check Layla Rose’s lifestyle.
    Now, I’m not by any means ignorant to the costs of pageant directors to get funding, sponsorships, etc., to help fund these productions. When I watched your video, Dani, my heart just went out to Alma and my wish list would be for past Miss USA sister queens to ban together to help prepare Alma for Miss Universe by providing her any resources she might need, such as wardrobe, friends/associates who could provide her photography services, money, etc., Alma deserves to be well prepared to compete at Miss Universe…and Layla Rose…by stark contrast…needs to step down.
    Thanks, Dani for this very informative video. Please keep us posted. You are clearly one of the best pageant influencers on social media. Thank you. Your viewership should be MUCH larger. #TeamAlmaUSA

    As someone who has multiple decades in this industry as a pageant event and portrait photographer I can say that some of these larger pageants think they are entitled to a portion of the proceeds from photography and video sales or they want to outright control it. Unfortunately, that math just doesn't add up for me when as an experienced provider I am already basically working for an entire week at a deficit with upfront production costs for myself and my crew or at best for free. Most of our work is "on spec" and the total sales of images can vary greatly. Based on other aspects of this pageant, it's reasonable to assume that Miss USA was probably so cash poor that they didn't even want to comp the photographers travel expenses or hotel accommodations to get to the event. Miss USA probably hoped they would be able to get free images off media photographers like Getty contributors Alberto Rodriguez and Gilbert Flores that attended as coverage photographers. My hope is that all those photographers direct them to Getty Images and charge the organization the $175-$500 per image rate they should be paying.
