great video with 2 of my favorite old rail lines that became 1
Cool that you got the old signals before they disappeared for good. Hey, a few days ago I caught that same Heritage Unit #1074 in Pritchard, West Virginia
Nice video AC! Been down at Cove to capture the east & westbound freights since NS took over operations from Conrail. I do miss the variety of motive pwr big blue ran weather the Pittsburgh main or Buffalo line north to Sunbury. The last vestiges of the Pennsy was the position lite on the Sunbury line at CP Kase late 90's early 2000's. Now them Safetrans signal protects the connection onto the Buffalo line.
21J originates at Rutherford Tuesday-Sunday. Originates at Morrisville on Mondays. Anyways, always nice to see a video elsewhere other than the Sunbury Line
Thanks.. I found that out after the fact.. That new ACe kinda gave it away.
Ah, found the video. It wouldn’t let me reply to you, so yeah, I do remember you. Thanks for the shoutout!
The Lackawanna 1074 is one of only four NS heritage units I've ever seen in person - the others were the Jersey Central 1071, the Virginian 1069, and the Nickel Plate 8100 (which, appropriately enough, I saw in Bellevue in 2016).
The VGN and NKP were through here just last week!
Outstanding video A.C 😲 1181 looks stunning @ 14:32 although I doubt it will stay looking like that for very long! 😢
Thank you A.C!
Regards
Kev
True they get messed up and dirty so easily
Thanks, Kev.. Yeah, I don't think so either :-(
Nice vid, well done! 👍👍
dear Friend love it. Really enjoyed. Thumbs up.
Wishing you good health and beautiful Time.
God bless you.
Thank you.. You too..
I'll go rail fanning with you any time AC. Excellent video.
That's a bet.. When the weather gets warm let's see if we can't meet up!! And thanks.
Nice video AC. So many trains in one day! Nice to see you helping out some young train fans. Thanks!
Thanks, Jim.. Yeah, the Pitt Line never disappoints.
Awesome video, great bunch of train catch with plenty of motive power. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍😎😎😎
Anytime Gadget.. Thanks for liking.
Yet again both educational AND entertaining video...excellent channel and video's
Thanks, Commander.. It's only going to get better so I hope that you'll stay tuned!!
Nice video! You were in my backyard. Duncannon station is about a mile from my house, I like to go to Cove, and I know RT 11/15 like the back of my hand. And 35A is one of my favorites!
Haha!! I should've stopped by and said hello!!
nice show 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 on location great drone footage to come cant wait
Thanks, Brat.. I'm working on mine!
As someone who grew up around the northeast in the 90's the loss of the position light signals is rather sad. They were common on the former PRR lines around Pennsylvania and New Jersey. On the one hand I thoroughly understand the need for greater safety and use of data in the changeover to PTC. On the other hand I have a visceral and emotional connection to the PRR embodied in the position light signal. It was the railroad that my grandfather admired and preserved in model railroad form. When he was still alive he would sometimes take my brother and I around to railfan and he always pointed out the Pennsy history and artifacts still standing for us. I still remember much of it fondly. And because of that and the railroaders I got to know and hear their stories, I believe it is sad to see such rich history disappear. Progress can sometimes be bittersweet. Its like losing an old friend.
Another PRR artifact gone the Position light were all over the LIRR in the 1960s-1970 1980s
Well said.. I don't have anything that can top that.. Thanks for the memories..
Most ironic thing that could happen,
Both roads caught on the same day and both merged
I know, right.
Very cool. Happy railfanning. - Drew
Thanks, Drew.. You too
Nice Job AC
Thanks, Tim.. Glad you liked.
Just imagine if the two were together on the same train
That would be awesome!!
Good stuff AC! Nice work!
Thanks, Scott.. It was a heck of a day!
Keeks. Caught an AMAZON trailerp your eyes open for an addition to piggybacks. Caught an AMAZON trailer on a flat, a month ago.
Interesting
They go together!
Like peanut butter and jelly!!
I got The Lackawanna 3 times one on 212 and the other times on oil trains
Nice.. This makes my 7th or 8th time catching it.
Damn, didn't know trains in the east ran that fast!!!!
They most certainly do.
I got 1068 twice nice video
Thanks
Awesome
Thanks, Man.
great video A.C i saw the lackawanna heritage last year in the fall on a freight train changing crews!!!!!
Nice!! Thanks Jordan.
Seeing a lot of TOFC on these trains reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask for some time now. In the past there was a fair amount of trailer flat cars with single axles on each end of the car. I've not seen any for a long time. Were they all retired or banned? Anyone help me with the answer? Thanks for some great videos!
I've not seem them in a long time either.. I'm guessing that they were phased out.
Thanks for the reply. I was interested to see if someone out there had an answer. I used to see them all the time and they were an oddity with the single axles.
Go to alliance ohio on Saturday good chance that a hu because 7 tracks are there
Oh yeah, Alliance is a busy place indeed.
