Machines of Our Disgrace marks the 5th full-length studio album for industrial music pioneer Circle of Dust, after a near 20 year hiatus. Created by artist/producer Klayton, best known for his multi-genre project Celldweller, Circle of Dust returns to Klayton’s industrial roots with metal riffs, pulsing electronics and catchy songwriting.
Klayton pushes the envelope of fusing modern metal and electronic production with gritty industrial noise & samples on Machines of Our Disgrace, while incorporating both aggressive and melodic vocals with thought provoking lyrics about man’s technological evolution. Songs like “Contagion” and the title track “Machines of Our Disgrace” question our relationship with technology while “alt_Human” and “Neurachem” explore the world of biohacking and genetic modification. The tracks “Hive Mind” and “Humanarchy” provide commentary on man’s place in modern society’s political and scientific moral ambiguity. The emotionally charged “Outside In” shows Klayton’s softer side in a heart-gripping track with lush harmonies, acoustic guitars, pulsing sound design and introspective lyrics.
Machines of Our Disgrace is the album fans have been waiting for the last 20 years and is sure to stand as one of Klayton’s crowning achievements. In anticipation of a brand new album, Klayton remastered and re-released the entire Circle of Dust back-catalogue in 2016, featuring the albums Circle of Dust (self-titled), Brainchild, Metamorphosis, Disengage and a side project titled Argyle Park, each originally released in the 90s.

I can't believe that I've been listening to this for five years and it's still kicks me in the nuts. Hard. Truly iconic track! 🤟
still listening to it to this day!
I just watched "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" completely, searching for all the samples Klayton used. In case any of you are interested, I have put a comment there showing all the time stamps for each sample that he has used.
Here is the movie: ua-cam.com/video/j_4uHlSITlE/v-deo.html
Here are the samples with the time stamps:
2:25 - "The operating room is no place to experiment..."
4:59 - "His pulse is coming back stronger than ever..."
5:54 - "How's his pulse? Strong and steady..."
7:54 - "Our bodies are capable of adjusting in ways..."
19:47 - "Noise at the intro before 'You're nothing but a freak of life...'"
20:06 - "My eyes are deceiving me..."
40:44 - "The paths of experimentation twist and turn..."
1:05:35 - "You're nothing but a freak of life, and a freak of death!"
1:07:04 - "I'm getting fed up with you and your insidious talk..."
1:07:54 - "I hope he prolongs your existence into a lifetime of agony..."
I worked out where all of the samples came from, "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" film from 1962
inthemiddleofastorm Since when was Klayton interested in movies that old?!!!
Arnav Sinha Roy
it seems to be the industrial music tradition to include samples from old movies
Snoozly, the I
Well, dialogues from old movies do have a good sound when used in Industrial music.
Lets the artist focus on the music instead of writing crappy lyrics. haha
I have actually just watched the entire movie and have located the time stamps for each sample. I put them there and on this video, in case you are interested.
Dude, "The Brain that Wouldn't Die" was a PERFECT choice for this!
Animattronic, you are a god at animation!
I remember the first time I heard CoD on a local late night metal radio show out of Syracuse NY. That was 1994, Brainchild. This dude is the epitome of tenacity, and overcoming the odds. I'm never disappointed with anything he does.
Remember Argyle Park
This has to be my favorite song off your new album. Heard it first on Pandora. Really glad you got your rights to Circle of Dust Klay. Worth the wait.
Robert Dupuis I personally think that Malacandra is the best song on the album. But I absolutely love this one.
Got his rights? As far as I know he always owned them.
My favourite song from the album. Thanks Klayton.
I love the guitar riffs in this one.
Everything off the new CoD I've heard is incredible! Worth the 20 year wait, Neurachem is another winner!
Being 20 years old, "worth 20 year wait" is an interesting perspective.
this song makes me feel like a super soldier when i am lifting weights and it comes on
Bowl of Tofu This is my workout song
Whether society is heading for transhuman dreams or transhuman nightmares, I'm vicariously addicted to watching the change and so are you.
Something vaguely cheesy about this music, yet it's addicting as hell. The riffs are amazing.
it's probably the use of sci-fi quotes from the 60s...
3:05 is the beginning of the best thing I've ever heard in my life. To this day.
My favorite of the new album \m/
The Unofficial soundtrack of the Unofficial Batman Beyond Movie.
fantastic song, looking forward to more great work from you Klayton!
Woke up to watch youtube, saw this... yes, yes, yes.
Reminds me of the Furnace horror book series. Great stuff as usual Klayton tho 🤘🏼🤘🏼
You music is really awesome. Thank you for that.
love it
Hoping for Hive Mind's Lyric Video Next. Best Track on the Album!
(They're all really good though, I think this is Klayton's best work.)
Yes!
Einfach nur geil!! *-*
The new Bionicle looks great
Lmao))
I just love how much of a fountain of inspiration Klayton is to me, like I have been listening to Celldweller on loop while writing and every now and then a new idea comes around thanks to a song like this!
Good people .good music .
Sublime track ,
The Machines of our disgrace album is incredibly good , uncanny in it's tangible challenges to our " progress " ,
As for cranking the Neurochem -
I am still an avid Psychonaut , chemical adventuring shatters every the gestalt , the new zeitgeist , same as the old : nothing above ,below or in between the universe's is new ....
Sofilein brought me here. To discover ANOTHER Klayton project.
"What's done is done and what I've done is right"
what a way to end, huh
Despite this only being a lyric video, I really appreciate the detail put into this one, there are so many things I missed out on the first time of watching.
Fantastic. Well done, Klayton.

Fucking awesome! Great visuals to go along with this masterful song.
Ok now I want this album.
Get it. It's amazing.
superb video for a superb song
reminds me of what i do with a plasma ball on an non resistive sufface.. one with the grid.. and i link up with an eye or strom.. power and focus.. auto and manual... just connect and channel the current...
I love the animation. 🙂
10/10 on the start.
Is this song inspired by the Altered Carbon book series?
Same question !
No.
Let it Die! Perfect fit, SPLithium = Neurachem
A strange philosophy. What is it's end? We become a complete replica of robots? No emotions? How is this better? I feel like this would turn human kind into a series of calculators trying to maximize numbers. Thankfully, it's just a song, which is quite great and really makes you ponder.
Angela Engle The bottom line is we need to make sure that when we do this we have boundaries. its a technology that can help but like all technology's it can be used for evil
> A strange philosophy. What is it's end?
Stripmining this galaxy, turning entire solar systems into planet-sized sentient topological quantum computers orbiting stars growing dim from being surrounded by Dyson Swarms, turning the Milky Way into the cathedral of a thermodynamic god of technocapital.
Crank it up
More epic than is Impossible just a another song from Celldweller or circle of the dust can be
Prophetic. AI Man is coming.
It's tracks like this that make me think Klayton REALLY liked Bioshock XDDD
so love this track......Only small gripe...would've love the main riffs/chorus to come in again at the end...and made the tune go for another minute
That's how 10-hour versions appear...
when i mean the riffs/chorus come back in I mean with a bit of a variation from the 4.25 part...up the tempo and some angrier vocals.....and still include that last sample part near end, making the track about 5.30 long....Still, i love this song for what it is...from 26 sec to 3.00 is totally awesome...I love the flow from metal to electronica...Klayton does that better than anybody.
Why did i miss out on circle of dust for so long :O
these could be lyrics for a meshuggah song haha, love it
Nootropics for the win.
Klayton is singing something in German? So amazing! He should do that more often q.q
That is this word "ubermensh"? Superhuman? My russian mind dont understand this word, my german friends.
Great animation - somehow reminiscent of Eisenfunk's Pentafunk video but I'm unable to define why in any tangible way ...
Hey Klayton will we ever get a Circle Of Dust book
That's something new and different .
Are there 2 Circle of Dust logos?
Perfect in Killing Floor 2
This track is for people with mental problems)). I dont understand how normal human can enjoy this. Klayton is wery smart, he tries to make money on normal people and crazy people same time)). I like more electro sound and beautiful vocals, like "louder than words". Its my favourite track. And i love and hate "eon" same time. Because half of that song is beautiful (ending) and half is dark (beginning). But without listening to all that heavy darkness you cant feel all the beauty of ending. I think all his music is based on some kind of perfect balance between hard sound and soft sound. I like to argue, and speak from heart, if anyone wants to argue with me - write ur comments.
ararnah Just the fact that you like his more electronic stuff doesn't mean that people that enjoy this have mental problems or something. Added to that, Celldweller and Circle of Dust are two different projects with two different sounds. CoD has more of a metal sound to it while Celldweller focusses more on the electronic stuff.
Saint K. Douchenstein You are right
ararnah well if you want softer sound by Klayton just go and check out Scandroid.
👍
I almost had a heart attack when he said Excision.
This marks the beginning of the end. They had no idea back then...
fall out 4 feels
welp new song to learn :D
sounds like a good soundtrack for DOOM
I cannot hear this song loud enough!%#&/#>_$>_$>_$ it's fu.kn AWESOME!!!!!!!!
reminds me of the downward spiral. No bad thing..
Getting some Resident Evil vibes from this...
Nice, I'd add his music to my games If I didn't have pay him lol
TechXSoftware He deserves at least some compensation for working his ass off.
lambostricken16 Well yeah, but doesn't mean I have to money lol.
Almost feel this song can be the theme for the World Eaters space machine chapter. #Warhammer40k
Mark Morrissey I’d say the dark eldar, since they use chemicals to enhance their combat prowess
Very true, but those Butcher's Nails that the World Eaters implant into themselves....damn.
Phrases from "The Brain That Wouldn't Die".
You need new glasses. So... why not have them delivered to your doorstep?
Tubular 😁🤓
duh nuh nuhn nuhn NUH NUNH
This thing looks like it belongs in Killing Floor 2.
Tripwire. . . Make this a Zed.

3:10
These are combines from HL2, right ?
wat Übermensch :D #German
Emo Core guten morgen
ayyyyyyyyy
Jaa, auch Deutsche lieben Celldweller
I suppose it's something to do with Nietzsche philosophy.
Stat1cV01D
What has Nietzsche said?
Poor guy, all he wanted to do was escape but now he's dead...
Fulgore
The Borg?
2:31 l00ks like all for one in my hero academia
Are all those samples from Bladerunner?
His track Pale Reflection from Brainchild uses Blade Runner samples. He doesn't use copyrighted samples anymore so all the ones from the new album are copyright free and sound like they are from obscure 50's-60's movies.
If I'm not mistaken all the samples in Neurachem are from "The Brain That Wouldn't Die".
And one of the samples in Machines of Our Disgrace (the title track) are from "Assignment: Outer Space".
Altered Carbon :D
Richard K. Morgan?
Yes. Klayton already said that he loved the book :) "Neurachem" is the enhancement system that some people (sleeves) get in the altered carbon universe
Cyrax, Sektor?
warwick perfect theme song hehe
4:07
Wouldn't 1,000,000 amps of current completely fry the heart?
Edit: I misheard, it's 100 mili-amps, much safer.
Still a lot
The SCP is escaping!
by releasing these free full songs isn't he hurting sales of the album? No need to buy it when we can listen for free...
shik1 might be a little late to comment, but UA-cam doesn't exactly play video/audio at best quality. When you buy album cd or digital, I can hear a MASSIVE difference and I get a better high in doing so.
Piracy will happen anyways this is good esp for less mainstream artists
perfect song for warwick of league of legends hehe
A majority of the comments are "omg Klayton sung German"
Okay.
What does Ubermensch mean? Do you know?
basically Superman, beyond man etc
The word, *"Übermensch"* means *"Superhuman"* , *"hyperman"* , *"superman"* , "beyond man", in essence.
I always knew celldweller was psyops
