BO Xilai is a brilliant guy, his mistake was being too arrogance and high profile of himself, that was stupid! And the relationship of his wife "Gu" and that English conman Neil Heywood also caused him a big trouble !
The Princelings are NOT a faction. These guys favour big business and the big cities. Jiang used to have alot of influence but at his age that influence has waned especially after the 17th party congress, It's believed that the unofficial head is Zeng Qinghong but given he's also retired and some key members were purged in the great anti-corruption campaign until Xi then this factions influence has been reduced significantly. 2) Communist Youth League (Tuanpai Faction): Are those guys who worked their way up and had no connection to former revolutionaries. They are more technocratic and pragmatic and tend to favour market reforms over state run industries. The last president Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao are both Tuanpai. Li Keqiang belongs to this faction and they reformists. For example after Wuhan and China came out of this Covid crisis in 2020 Li was proponent of the night stall economy to stimulate the economy which wasn't favoured by Xi who wanted to move away from this kind of petite-bourgeois economy that was characteristic of China during the 80's to 00's. He believes in reasserting the state over private industry and has a grand vision of much more socialist China which will still pursue market reforms (i.e The Hainan free trade port) however his ultimate vision is of a country which most Marxists can relate to which is less based on private enterprise and more based on common ownership and of a country that is more focused on living in balance with nature over the interests of capital (i.e. Xiong'An new area). It's important to understand that these factions are not opposition parties. All party members ultimately must stay loyal to the party's goals, charter and respect the unity of the party under the core leadership of the General Secretary. Every member that sits in Politburo and Standing Committee adheres to Dengism and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. The only time the party was under threat of being split was after Mao's death and the rise and fall of the Gang of four. Those who reject the ideas of the modern Communist Party of China are known as Marxist-Leninist-Maoists and take what is known as an "anti-revisionist" stance. They are the far left radicals who believe in exporting revolution across the entire global south. You have other tendencies like Maoist-Third Worldists who are radically anti-capitalist and completely reject aligning themselves with even the working class of 1st world countries who they see as bribed by capital or reactionary. These are the guys who long disappeared from the party and were the last elements to pose a threat to the party itself. Today China is firmly under Xi's leadership and there's no reason to think that Xi will face any real threat to serving another term. It's also suicidal to even try to form cliques that would threaten party unity as such elements would be immediately dealt with and any coup plotters would be rooted out by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. Certain party members have fallen out of line for numerous reasons (E.g Bo Xilai) however the party itself is a well oiled machine, It will continue unless there's weak leadership and party members become disillusioned and suffer low morale.

Fascinating. The Cult convulses.
this story broke news in 2012, so late
Such a good documentary! Thanks!
$130 - $160M, chicken feed, you must be kidding yourself, try Billions ???!!!!
The factions are mixed up - the Youth League are more concerned with market liberalization, while the Princelings are more concerned with socialist values. Also, massive oversimplification as there are several other factions such as Shanghai Clique.
Vice you need to up your game, so many mistakes. Even your video doesn't correspond with your audio content. And what is that rumor about you rating out your sources?
you need to up your english. you make no sense
Feel free to disprove with sources
@@hchen2513 what sources? His aidio says one thing and his graphic says another, the mistake is not even factual, it is just pure editorial!

4:09 why do they have SEATS if it's a STANDING committee? Pfff dingalings
come to philippines, we love corrupt officials here.
Moral of the story: don't get murdered in China.
In usa, u can get away with anything as long as you have money. No need to be on the wrong team.
Winnie the Pooh took out his opponent that day
NOOOOOOOO Who the fuck would’ve guessed?!
Better question is why he got busted this time. This guy was clearly untouchable but all of a sudden he gets busted? Common brah we want the REAL story
The whole thing being exposed to the open by an official fleeing to a us consulate explains it
Would watch this on netflix
Christ! You said his name about a hundred times.....incorrectly.
@5:04 those are toy guns along with airsoft guns........
He still would have a better leader the Winnie the Pooh. His wife really destroyed his chance and maybe perhaps China chance to be more integrated with the world.
No knock on this reporter, but "Bo" is pronounced "Boah" as in the first part of the word "bored" not "Bow" as in "bow and arrow"
After “according to veteran China watcher” reference I had to stop watching
ayoooo Vice made a video on 秦城的汉子
xi's wife and her accomplice got a death sentence with two-year reprieve.
You mean BO's wife "Gu", right?
Lezgo Atom!!
Is Mr. Ping also princeling...
Bo Xilai was a British Agent...MI6
Thats why Neil Heywood must keep his mouth shut and no appearences forever!

In your propaganda now leave china alone
@@qjtvaddict They don't appear to be leaving Taiwan alone.
@@laknidubandara they did steal 500million people's wealth when they ran to taiwan. Call it debt collecting.
Mao died in 1976, not 1979
Atom, what are you doing in Vice, you are part of US government payroll now?
That was the Chinese Hilary vs trump moment:
No..... Absolutely nothing like that. 🤦♂️
That reminded me Prince Andrew and Epstein! 😘😀😀
@@jonhall2274 yeah, Chinese people don’t have voting right, but is there really a choice between both of them

Now make this sentence coherent instead of gibberish.
🐻 got him
He was killed because he didn't share with the mighty dragon 🐉. Corruption is only fine if the leader is let in on it.
come on, its china. what can you expect.
A watershed moment in modern Chinese political game of thrones.
Imagine Bo and worse still his wife got into power. China would have headed down the road of Oligarchy state with no turning back.
Jeffrey Epstein
Prince Andrew......haha😂✌😘
as long u are not in the same side you are destined to be punished
I can't tell what I hate more ccp or vice
YAWA ATOM MAN YAN
China number 1
British consultant? What for? Everyone knows that he was a money launderer. Your narration doesn’t proof who really killed the money launderer. How come you’re so sure? Who is behind you and how much you received for this?
Omg it's just so cringe pronouncing chinese names with completely wrong tones .
And intentionally equating xi jingping with bo xilai...despite their family's different background.
Bo Xilai
wtf happened to vice? is this a joke? satire? wtf
zzz liberals and conservatives crying
lol u mad about Chinese people arresting Chinese people? dumbass
Exitus acta probat. Xi Jinping turns out to be the best choice for China, much better than GW Bush, princeling of the Bush family, for the US. Bo Xilai was ambitious but not corrupt. He took the fall for his wife.
Bing chilling chilling Bing roses are red violets are blue nobody cares what a wu Mao says
