Born and raised in South Florida. There have always been neighborhoods that flooded east of US 1 but now crossing Ferderal Highway.and when a storm comes from the west all those man made lakes overflow making houses their your Island.
Broward County got to fix the drain system in south Broward specifically, they need to take a them mobile home and build high condos and townhomes, because it’s trash on the road,because of these mobile homes but they should pay them too.
The issue with this is that alot of the moblie homeowners were probably forced to move since they built a brightline station in aventura. Moving them to a lower area in hallandale, they're able to get by, but if they rebuild with condos, the prices are gonna skyrocket, essentially kicking them out of that area anyway.
I hate to say it, but in most areas of South Florida, especially east 95. There’s little to nothing you can do. Remember the rainwater drain off into the ocean if it’s low tide well the tide don’t be as low anymore so when it rains hard like this, the water has nowhere to go
Does driving (& idling) on roads during flooding exacerbate soil liquefaction beneath the surface? Does other vibrating machinery (incl some large-ish emergency generators)?

This is terrible but the aftermath will not just affect this county. After the storms and rain is over with and people are compensated for their flooded out vehicles, auto insurance rates will go up again all over Florida. Unfortunately all counties must pay for one county. The car insurance should only go up for the affected counties. But that’s not how it works. If someone has an accident or vehicle storm damage in a county that I do not live in, my insurance rate will go up to help pay for it. This is not fair especially right now with high product, food, and gas prices I just cancelled my homeowner insurance after it quadrupled. Car insurance is headed in the same direction.
