Saw Emma with The Delgados supporting another band and didn't know who they were, but absolutely fell in love with her from the moment they started to perform. Gorgeous woman with a beautiful voice. I miss The Delagados.
Brilliant song backed by a truely Superb video, with great direction and editing, and above all a great idea, in that in some very public, open places, a certain experience can leave you feeling completely detached and alone from everyone and everything. can agree fully with your last statement. I cannot see nor can i remember what i posted before but assume i i was being a bit of a dick. UA-cam suggested Emma Pollock to me as somthing i might like, I linked this to having watched alot of regina spektor recently. There are similarities between the two, I love the Music video styles of both, but much prefer Reginas music. In the order i found them It seemed id found a knock off Regina Spektor, however the opposite could be true.
@biggayone if they got the recognition they deserved,, they would probably sell out, everyone would kknow about them so they would'nt be as special.. the music industry would change thier sound from an indie or just the artists particular sound to one tthat sounds like everything else.. and is just filled with shitty sinths... be happy about where she is now..

Emma has a very good body of work. However....how can u compare emma's work to Nina Simone or Maria Callas??? U can never compare legends to above average an artist it just isn't fair. They performed during different times...who knows 25 years from now....after Emma has produced more work she could be seen in the same light. Bjork is just a weird artist and that's how she got recognition...not the fact that her music ismaybe actually good or absolute crap!
I think it's more appropriate to compare her work with her peers out of the Scottish alternative music scene.

"should have made it big", unfortunately the public is the judge of who'll be successful, her music appeals to your specific tastes, however, not enough people share your opinion. The Delgados and Emma Pollock were well supported by the media and and the music indusry, their music wasn't good enough, it's that simple
no, it's really not that simple. this general "public" you speak of is no arbiter of what is "good" music. It never is.
Sorry making it big and being a great musician/singer/songwriter and success doesn’t always equate. Ned Sheerin and Coldplay come to mind.
