You set the bar high - the highest!! I can't stop listening. And now I subscribed abd am listening to your other recordings and classes. I hope to hear you live one day and attend a class. Thank you for sharing your amazing flute playing, and great musicianship. Thank you for inspiring others like me!
i'm sure that PB will play more intersting in this piece now, really looking forward to see him once again playing that. He is really for me great flute player.
Dear Philippe, thank you for sharing this - absolutely amazing performance!! I really admire your playing and was wondering if there are recordings of you performing the other two movements of this concerto? Did you ever release a cd recording of them ? Thank you!! :)
+Victoria Creighton The whole concerto was recorded during that very same live performance and released in 1989 with concertos by Handel and Vivaldi on Polmusic. A rather hard to find CD.
@@Mark_S.8823 Well, if you listen to other flautists playing it, for ex. Matvey Demin, Emmanuel Pahud, Jean-Pierre Rampal... on UA-cam, they basically play the same melody as the strings until the last note - no singing fat lady needed.
@@turquoise770 Answering 2 years late but here goes 😂 Yes, it does. The flute stops playing in bar 234, then 20 bars of rest follow. It was just Rampal's creative choice to play through to the end I guess. The edition with 20 bars of rest is based on a pre-1787 manuscript and therefore the more authentic.
I still think this is the best overall performance of the CPE Bach flute concerto on UA-cam. 11/10 rating.
Denis Bouriakov and the Hungarians are a very close second.
and also this orchestra is great, with life.
Absolutely BRILLIANT!!
THE BEST beautiful and wonderful articulation that i saw in my life . BRAVO bernold .amazing french sound school.

84k views over 8 years but only 51 comments. People must still be stunned at the seemingly effortless virtuosity displayed by all the musicians. 👏👏
That is absolutely amazing!!!

The reason why the french school of flute is the best over the world is in this performance !
An electrifying performance. Such rapid articulation.
Incredibly exciting, edge of the seat performance!!!

Really, amazing and superbe. I discovered it in 1984 (LP Harmonia Mundi) with Rampal and conducted by Boulez!

@MrBestsoylatte that is not necessary when you have ears!?
How did you get the full score??
00:00
Jim Millen, you know only fluteplayer, who famous in america is?
Yeah, you're right. :P
CHAPÓ!!!
does the flute part really end that early?
That was just the allegro di molto pt. 3

This is FROM AN OTHER WORD!
kourosh89 when you can play like this, maybe you can then complain
Concours de vitesse ?
Who is the flutist performing this?
Donald Duck
ok Eva Nina may play this better in your opinion but he is the one who thought her that... :P
Good, but I think Eva-Nina Kozmus play this beter.
👠👠👠
Orchestra Good, Flautist - Bad!
what for an unqualified, stupid comment
You are insane!
Just no. If the goal is to play this as fast as you possibly can, then yay. But the musicality goes to hell in a handbag.
