Johnny Depp should come back as Edward Scissorhands to take on Freddy...LOL
Nice connection. I also thought the part where Nancy's mother's corpse descends into the bed was like something straight out of Beetlejuice.
Ahhhhhh I feel u your crazy fam and I love it
Freddy vs Scissorhands 🤣
Sad to say, with all the craziness of the trial between him and Amber Heard, that idea of yours is unfortunately a dream that may never come
And walking an talking like jack sparrow
The Dave Rod thing might just be my favorite misheard movie quote of all time!!!
Rod is his boner's nickname.
Reminds me of Mallrats. "Tell em Steve Dave!"
They realize his name is actually Rod Lane Right? NOT DAVE ROD!!!!!
Robert Englund is a horror movie legend.
He needs to make one more nightmare movie kind of hard without Wes Craven. Last house on the left was Cravens and Cunningham first movie. I like Johnny depps death scene.
For real he left such a strong impression every remake will most likely fail ha..
My favorite part of this reaction: During Tina’s death, the Mrs looked shocked, shrugged, then went back to eating the Twinkie.
The way Nancy's mom was killed was pretty metal, but the way Depp died was the most creative.
She is the perfect person for a reaction channel . Genuinely funny and engaged while also somehow missing like 90% of pop culture her entire life 😂
okay...so when she thought Nancy said Dave Rod and she actually said sleepover date, Rod...I always thought Nancy said Dave Rod, too. I watched this movie when I was like 9...im 29 and I just found out that is not what she said. what the hell, lmao. They even said his name in the movie and I guess I never payed much attention.
You guys are my favorite couple on UA-cam. "Your face looks like a sack of balls" "Hey, you married this face!" lmao keep up the great work yall
10:55 the 'oh well' shoulder shrug followed by a (I need a bite of this Twinkie)
hahahahahah Priceless
what everyone should do in a nightmare
“I feel like I’m gonna like Freddy Krueger”
I like this girl. She’s my kind of people 😏
24:52 apparently Johnny Depp has the amount of blood of 3 people. 😄 I just love how silly this is. He got liquefied.
Looks like something out of hellraiser
Have you seen the deleted scene when he gets spit back out of the bed at the end and looks drained ? It’s kinda creepy
@@NikkieTwix never seen it
"One Two Freddy's coming for you!" This movie is a classic. Just incredible. Loved your reaction to it. Not a lot of kills, but they were all extremely well done.
My favourite horror character Freddy. I thought it was Dave Rod too haha. The Tina kill was crazy.
"Freddy, he is the one with the fingers?" "At least five of them." Bravo
Fuckin great response.
@DarkVisage thanks for becoming a member :)
Technically four fingers and a thumb. :)

@@mxplixic unless it’s Wes Craven’s New Nightmare…
“I’ve beat Freddy on my dreams before , or else I wouldn’t be here “ 😂😂😂I love this guy
Wes Craven originally intended Nightmare on Elm Street to end on a positive note with Nancy defeating Freddy, however the executive producer Bob Shay wanted a cliff hanger for future film possibilities. So Wes Craven shot the ending with the vehicle in Freddy colors with the screaming teens to set up future sequels for the film studio basically, even though he probably didn't really like it.
Remember back when you two watched Aliens and she had to literally turn away from the screen in horror? Now she just eats a damn Twinkie…
Hahaha. Yeah. She's come a long way.

Nightmare on Elm street is my Favorite Horror movie of all time Thank you so much for doing a reaction video on it hope you were scared
Your wife is adorable, man. You guys look like you have so much fun watching movies, which is the way it should be. My wife cracks me up sometimes watching movies as well. She doesn't ask me as many questions and stuff though. I wish she did so that I could give her that stoic non-answer like you do. Lol
I had a Freddy dream when I was 10 years old. Freddy was at my front door at night and my mum and dad went to answer the door and I was screaming at them "no, turn the video off" and he came in, looked up the stairs at me, and then sprinted up the stairs laughing. Then I woke up.
I definitely need Dave Rod merch lol
11:17, wires. 11:23, they also used a tumbling room, which is what they used in Poltergeist.
28:27 "Charcoaled Mommy," my new band name.
Fun fact: in the novelization of the movie Freddy killed the older siblings of the kids in the movie and others in the neighborhood. The characters were either too young to remember or weren’t alive when it all happened.
There's even a deleted scene that goes into. That Nancy's mother says that not every kid. On Elm st was a only child at some point. Something like that its happens when . She shows Nancy Freddy's glove hinting at Nancy an the others. May of had a brother or sister at some point.
@@83shadow3 is that in a special edition or in the special features?
@@dustinloucks1555 I got the Blu-ray of the move . So it may vary on whare it would be. Depending on what you are watching. But it should be in the deleted scenes . If you have a copy of the movie on DVD i would think or in . The deleted scenes of the main menu of the movie. I seen it in a movie version mode. That let me know about deleted an extended scenes and behind the scenes. Stuff at would let me know there was . Something extra or interesting behind the scenes stuff as I watched the movie. It may even be on UA-cam. Look up A Nightmare on Elm Street deleted scene 2 . Nancy's mother confirmed that all of the teenagers in . This movie all had a brother or sister. That Freddy Krueger killed even Nancy herself.
@@83shadow3 ah ok that makes sense. I do have the dvd but haven’t watched it in a while. Gonna have to do that. Thanks for letting me know
@@dustinloucks1555 No problem im I of those people that tend to. Watch most of the special features on movies. As well as TV shows I get on DVD or Blu-rays I get. That includes the movie with all the audio commentaries . Then the special modes but I will say this much. If you like the movie Airplane an if you get the Don't call me Shirley . Edition of the movie Don't watch the Long haul version of the movie. Until you have at least 4 hours to watch it. Because that version of the movie is at least 3 hours long. It's full of fun an interesting behind the scenes stuff an facts an interviews . But its spread out throughout the entire movie .
In the words of winston zeddemore thats a big twinkie
"What about the twinkie?"
Mrs. Movies won me over from the moment she mentioned "What's eating Gilbert Grape?" 😌
Nancy's Father is actually a Badass who Starred in Enter The Dragon with Bruce Lee is John Saxon. The Sleep Dr. in this is the voice of Roger Rabbit is Charles Fletcher.
I just noticed your Monster Vision T-shirt. I loved that show and Joe Bob's Drive-in Theater.
One of my favourite things about your videos is the side glances your old man gives you just before/during one of the jump scares lool.
She got the wet bandits reference... She's a keeper
Freddie fact: the doc in the dream clinic is the voice actor for Roger Rabbit.
I've been highly anticipating this one! Keep up the great work you two, yours are some of the best reaction videos out there.
Thanks! We will! :)
This was great to watch someone experience Nightmare on Elm street for the first time Liked Subscribed! My favorite kill was defiantly the Tina kill especially after finding how they created it from making of.
Mrs Movies @ 7:25 "Who has two names like that?"
Billy Bob Thornton has left the chat.
I’ve watched a few of your videos since I recently discovered your channel and I’m enjoying them. I love the dynamic of you being the expert and your wife not knowing much about the films.
Glad you like them! Thanks :)
My uncle's name is David Rodney. I might start calling him Dave Rod now 😂
I love that when I googled "A Nightmare on Elm Street Dave Rod" this video was listed first 🤣
Tbh, I always thought she said Dave Rod too.
I love Mrs movie's sense of humor! Subscribed
Monstervision tee...wifey wins. Mrs and her eyebrow and Mr. with his lunatic side-eye anticipating her reactions 🤣🤣🤣
The special efx guy said they used a piece of spandex for the shot of freddy pushing through the ceiling.
Never sleep again
Some geek trivia/fun facts for you two:
The music that has the "tch-tch-tch-ah-ah-ah" like Friday the 13th, or this Nightmare on Elm Street, and other similar movies, is a music genre that was labeled "Horror Synth", since is technically synths making dark atmospheric music, and in the 1980s the synths were very popular (Synthpop music), I mean look at the hits of each of the years hehe.
Horror Synth is not completely forgotten, sometimes is used on Indie Films as well, like the contemporary horror film "It Follows" (2014).
Is very cool music anyway.
I LOVE that you have a Monster Vision shirt!
I was in the middle of watching an episode of The Facts of Life and had to come here to comment that Dave Rod was a guest-star 😂😂
two thumbs way up for Wes Craven for making this all of the nightmare on elm st movies :)
@9:22 the wall behind the bed where Nancy sleeps is made of spandex. That's a real person sticking their head as they attempt to grab her.
"Introducing Jonny Depp" even though they had no idea if he was gonna get bored with acting after this film. (Seems more likely he'd signed up to a long-term contract already.)
The dad (John Saxon) is the “original Johnny Cage” from ENTER THE DRAGON 🐉 👊
When I was a kid, there was a local urban legend about Fingernail Freddy who lived in the graveyard and he would kill you with his fingernails. So when this movie came out -- THAT WAS WEIRD.
17:36 I nearly spit up my drink Hahaha
The Hills Have Eyes (2006). It's very good.
Oh, Glen (Johnny Depp)'s death, for sure, is the best one, if for no other reason but just how much work went into making it work on screen; no CGI, just pure practical effect ingenuity! 🥰❤️
I've been watching alot of you two's reaction videos and they've been really funny and entertaining. Keep making more videos because you two are a great duo!
This film came out in 1984, was johnny depp's first role and this film remains a masterpiece classic horror film. I loved this movie when i saw it as a kid back then in 84 and loved and it still remains as a personal favorite of mine today!
The ending was actually three separate endings that the director couldn't decide on.... So used all three.
Bob Shaye demanded this ending. Wes Craven's ending was always that the entire movie was a dream.
@@everyonelovesmajima that's the other one I heard.... I've heard different stories on the subject... This one and the one you mentioned are the ones I have heard the most.
"Scream, which we'll get to eventually..." Just started the video and it's already awesome from that info. Haha.
She’s got some studying up to do before we experience ghost face.
@@YouMeTheMovies 100% understandable with all of the references and such.
There is a technique to control your dreams. It is called Lucid Dreaming, it takes practice but it can be done. I used to have truly horrific nightmares, Lucid dreaming helped me get through and beat them, side benefit, "GOOD" dreams get REALLY GOOD
"Child Murderer" was a nice way of putting what freddy was really doing with those kids. She was right about people liking Freddy, because it got to the point where freddy was egregiously hamming it up & mugging for the camera in the later sequels. But, I never did understand how that actor (robert englund) portrayed a kid murdering child molester to be a charismatic fan favorite?!!? Oh yeah, Freddy vs Jason explains how freddy was able to go into dreams & crap btw.
The thing is Robert Englund’s Freddy wasn’t a Child Molester. It was originally gonna be part of his story but it was never confirmed.
Yes exactly the molester stuff only appeared in the remake movie wise.
Wrong... Freddy vs Jason was NOT Wes craven.. new nightmare WAS
3:07 haha, and it´s only the beginning XD.These movies are great and im watching all of them "with them",grettings from Argentina.
Tina is cut open dragged across the ceiling and falls in a pool of her own blood. "So she's dead then?" 😂🤣 I would say so.
Your husband’s reaction to Tina’s death at the beginning was priceless
Enjoying the deadpan reactions!
11:23 Dave Rod havin' a pretty chill reaction to seeing something like that.
Ya’ll seem to have a lot of fun, good times.
You need to react to the original Halloween!!! I LOVE watching peoples' reaction to that one! Such a classic!!!
October is Halloween Season
there is a retrospective doc called never sleep again that comers all of the franchise covers how any why every movie was made
Are you talking about that 6 hour monster of a documentary? Now that's how you do it.
@@shanester1832 yes sir
The ending was off because the studio wanted an open-ending for a sequel. Wes Craven's true ending was when Freddy was turned to nothing when Nancy turned her back on him
9:46, rubber mixed with latex is what they used of this scene.
I once actually had a dream about Freddy Kruger. I fought him as a power ranger.
Craven originally shot a happier ending. The studio forced him to reshoot that.
I’ll rember Dave-Rod from now on.
It's funny but this franchise has little to do with the actual Elm Street street. Think about it? How many actually died ON Elm Street vs how many freely died off and far away Elm Street, like at the Hospital.
Sammy Lane JFK was killed on one, but it actually has a deeper meaning, Wes Craven said that the story is intended to be an allegory for the negative direction he felt the country was heading in particularly the American middle class and he chose because it's classic Americana, every American town has an Elm Street and the "Nightmare" is actually the decay of old American Ideals.
No student Hall Monitors at my schools. You got hall passes to use the restroom or wherever you were given permission to leave class to go. That was in case there was a teacher between classes, the principal or any staff happening to be in the halls that ran across you.
You can't help splaying your legs like that when the tub is small and you don't have room not to
"Iv'e beaten Freddy before, else I wouldnt be here..." Ture Freddy Warrior. Well played :P
Love the MonsterVision shirt.
"How did they know he was going to be a big success?" This is an 80s slasher. They hire no names for a reason lol. Budget and realism.
When you get to part 2, when you get to the party scene, to avoid confusion, remember the party goers see jesse, only we see freddy
One. Two. Freddy's Coming for You!
Classic. That bath scene is so creepy
I remember being a little kid and I was visiting my aunt & uncles place (I believe my mother was out of town on a work trip) and I watched this with my Uncle. When he went to bed I slept on the living room couch and I had a horrible nightmare that Freddy's hand was stretching out for me from a hole in the ceiling (when my cousin and I were upstairs and we wanted snacks we would lower a basket and ring a bell. My aunt would fill the basket up with snacks and we would raise it back up). I've had this nightmare, so many times!!! It's always very scary
Robert Englund is wonderful at his role of Freddy Krueger
Favorite kill is probably Glen. The blood geyser is an amazing practical effect on par with The Shining's elevator scene. Just gallons of fake blood being dumped from the tank above, but it looks incredible.
This movie actually revitalized the slasher genre the first time around. In 1984, the genre was in a decline, people weren't as interested in it anymore. Then Wes Craven and New Line release A Nightmare on Elm Street, and all of a sudden, people were wanting more slasher movies. Both movies that revitalized the genre were made by Wes Craven.
Well, this has to get a "Wicked Boner"/10 with a Twinkie on top. I remember one dream I had with Freddy in it, but he only appeared as someone and then never came back. I'm usually visited by the Shape/Michael Myers from Halloween tbh. I think Johnny Depp's kill is probably my favorite kill in this one.
there's an Elm St. in every town in America!
Such a classic horror movie glad you are reacting to it.
I kept laughing every time you said "Dave Rod".
I was 5 years old when I seen this. Scared me so bad. I slept with my parents for like a month lol. Love horror movies to this day though cause of it and the original Halloween.
Favorite kill is the eye-roll your wife gave you @5:18 😁
Dave Rod! It took a few views of this movie before I got what Nancy was saying there! Great reaction! He will forever be known as Dave Rod to me. Be a good porno name!
10:29, that's cool how they made this.
Return of The Living Dead is my favorite horror franchise. I've never had dreams featuring Freddy Kruegar but my little brother did when he was little. I had a dream i won a fight against Brock Lesnar though. My favorite kill in the movie will be unpopular opinion here, Nancy's mom and how little sense it makes lending to how creepy it is is my favorite kill in the movie because it's creepy which is the actual good horror unlike just jump scares.
Funny how whenever someone reacts to this movie, everybody recognizes Johnny Depp but nobody notices Lyn Shaye (from the "Insidious" franchise) as Nancy's teacher.
She did recognize her from something else though.
What's really gonna rock your noggin is the sleep doctor was the voice for Roger Rabbit!
@@mattschliemann9683 And the guy who reads the line in the class room is Daryl Hannah's brother.
I think Johnny depp is a little bit more popular. Lol
I have also beat Freddy in my dreams, a few scratches, but I'm still here. #nightmaresurvivors.
OMG ... a twinkie @10:30. We don't get those in Denmark. I miss them!!!!!
I never understood one thing: if someone manages to pull Freddie Krueger into the real world ,can he definitely be killed ?
So she set up all those traps, fell asleep and was able to find Freddy in her dream all within 20 minutes???? Yeah, right!
Yeah. That 12:30 timeline really went slow....
