What a great series this would be Brandi!! A while back, I decided to have a 'summer of crafting' with my daughter and nieces. We shopped kits at all the usual spots. They each got 3 kits. It was going to be epic! Needless to say, it was challenging. I still have a few kits lying around somewhere. That was 5+ yrs ago. Maybe the kits have improved since then....?
I am sure that clay was just old. I got some from the Dollar Tree not too long ago and it was dried out. but a neat kit still to use with other clay. The candles came out so pretty! Yes to trying more kits!
The jewelry bowl isn't the worst thing ever. Kinda close but not all the way. 😅😂😂 I love the candles though...I am going to have to go to 5 below and check out the kits. I can't wait until my nephews are old enough so I can force them to have fun crafting with me.
I’ve been to Five Below once. I felt it was chaotic and messy. I bought a hairbrush. The store was just too messy for me, but I see others find all sorts of stuff there. All that said, none of the problems you encountered were the fault of Five Below. They were probably selling it because the product had been sitting in a warehouse for a long while. I like the second attempt. No home should be without a jewelry bowl chip. Ooohhhhh… waxxx… ooohhhh what a mess… but they’re cute. If you can make the candle so that the areas so that the slit is tipped upward less wax may un amid.
Brandi, I got my TDS paper. Love them. I tried to print the Download ones. But I have to educate myself on how to resize images. Love them also. So thank you. 🙂😊😉😂
Hi Brandi, great job on testing out these craft kits! I been thinking of trying the candle kit but haven't yet. But I'm so gonna try it now, I'm going to get 2 kits one for me and 1 for my granddaughter. I should save it till schools out, but that would be so hard. I'm laid up now after getting dizzy falling and fracturing my ankle in 4 places. So now after I'm home from surgery and all I cannot put any weight on my leg. So I'm bored lol! 😂 I may not even wait for my granddaughter, but 1st I have to get my hubby or someone to go purchase me 2 kits. Thanks so much for sharing. I'd love to see more of the kits done. ❤😂😊

Maybe you have to use the entire package of cream cheese so it's thicker? I'm glad you did this because I was going to grab that to make with the grands!! That candle kit is not very well designed 😂😂. Maybe put wax paper in the mold and poke a hole for the wick 😂😂. TYFS, for r the work around with different clay and for the laughs ❤❤

I'm here Brandi but you already figured it out girl. I would have microwaved the wax, takes a few mins and the tape is what I would have done. You did great but then again you always do.
I love these test kit videos it would be cool if you were able to get some of the kiddie ones from like Michaels or somewhere lol I like to think I am sometimes I will pick up the kits especially at five below because of the price
For a while I was ready to experiment with air dry clay, which I never saw at DT, and I've never gotten around to making any with the "recipes" I have. What I'm most interested in is shaping small things (or cutting them out) to apply to vases, etc. before painting. What is the paper clay you used?

That was fun to watch. But I don't think I would let my kids/ grandkids do the candle one. For a clay pot putting it in a small bowl works great.

I have been using the paper clay quite a bit, with silicone molds to put embellishments on my crafts. I live it.
