Great review. was worried it had only 1 HDD slot, great to know it has an mSata slot and two HDD slots. Also a huge improvement that the empty RAM slots are so easy to get too compared to previous models.
Noteworthy is that you can also trade in the DVD/Blu-Ray reader for an SSD, something which I personally highly recommend because I haven't used disks in a bit over 3 years (not even for driver installation), so it makes more sense to buy the SSD to sit in instead of a disk reader and buy a USB disk reader in the rare case you need one.
Just ran into someone I know today (Korean guy that I know), he'd purchase the 18 and displaying it with me and in person, it's a beast and big. Now I have to to spend my life savings for this notebook computer because I want one now. Still love my Gigabyte, but wow in person I wanted to cry because I have such a weak gaming Gigbyte U2442V (does the job) laptop.
Just Bought My MSI GE60 Apache Pro-003 I cant wait!!!! You Guys Are Awesome!!! Also could you guys do some videos on some of your extras you add to your products like the Thermal Compound and the Redline Boost Ect. I think It would help newer gamers understand what they mean, because I don't xD
you guys should do a review of the Sager NP9377! I am wanting to buy it but cant find any video that really shows the size and performance of the laptop.
The description says this screen is matte, but your website says it only comes in glossy. Do you have the option to choose between both or is it only one?
I'm a huge gamer but never owned a lap top or desktop and I'm in the oil fields so far from home with a good amount in my pocket so what would you recommend a fully decked out laptop that plays games max settings at a great frame rate I'm not too pc savvy so I would appreciate the input and help also I want something that lasts Thanks!
I'm just worried I'll buy one of these and see graphics issues. I'm used to desktop graphics and thinking a mobile 880 isn't the same (video quality wise) against a desktop 880 once released. Is the video grainy at all? Or are they better than a desktop 780?
(Sorry my English) The only bad thing I see the Alienware is that the battery can not be removed easily, which will cause life is reduced to be constantly charging and discharging. Alienware has solved that problem with the battery?
This laptop is not really meant to be used on battery life. It is made and marketed to be a portable desktop so most people including myself (i have a Alienware 18) use it always plugged in. You can switch to a integrated graphics card however (the one built into your processor) and this will make the battery last longer.
Is the alienware 18 2015 have graphic amplifier too? Or just the alienware laptops below that. :/ I'm thinkin about getting alienware 18 but if it doesn't have the amplifier port.. idk.. I want to upgrade a new graphics card in the future
+BIG DAWG We don't carry that latest version of the Alienware 18. Just speculating, but I think that they will continue with the graphics amplifier on their models. Please contact our knowledgable sales staff to learn more. You can reach them by emailing sales@xoticpc.com. We also have live chat on our website during business hours (9am - 5:30pm CST Mon - Fri). www.xoticpc.com
The 18 doesn't have a graphic amplifier but it supports up to times 2 980 gpus which is insane the graphic cards are also removable for a possible upgrade latter just get the 18 you can't just keep upgrading the gpu anyways as the cpu will start to bog down graphic amplifiers are just to keep the pic thin and light not really going to help much down the road also the new alienwares (not including the 18) have gen 6 cpus which are slower then the 4th gen found in the 18 and if your still into DVDs the 18 inch has a disk drive

why does no one put the vidicater backpack into account as long as im careful i could really take it anywhere cuz the vidicater backpack is made to protect it
Everyone say alienware is overpriced/bad, it's cheaper compared to buying the parts individually and since it's the best laptop spec wise money can buy you can expect it to be cheaper.
Ultrakillerism But how do i pay to ship international because when i went to their website and wanted to get the alienware 18 it didnt show any options about shipping to which country and the pricing

Hi, I'm a student with £750 ($2200) and I'm looking for a laptop that I can use for work but also that can game (battlefield 4 and stuff). What would you recommend?
Katelynn Peats Yes, we only carry the laptops from Alienware. We have been looking at steam boxes like the one AW has, but we have not carried it yet. You will find all of the configurations that Dell's site has on our website, plus many more.
Katelynn Peats they cancelled the 18" inch, at least for now. It's a long story. Also, if you're looking into buying one, hold your horses. The new generation 13, 15 and 17 are fully locked-down. The GPU and CPU are soldered onto the motherboard, meaning they perform less, can't be overclocked much and can't be upgraded, also if the GPU or CPU gets damaged, the ENTIRE motherboard has to be replaced. They also come with less maximum RAM (the old Alienwares had 32GB, the new generation max 16GB). I would recommend the OLDER Alienwares. Unfortunately it would have to be a refurbished or pre-owned laptop, but alienware owners generally take care of their laptops. These older laptops also perform better than the newer ones since they come with more features and can be upgraded to outperform the newer models (and be overclocked without too much effort). If you want SLI, the M18x R2 and the 18 are the best options. If a single GPU is enough for you, the M17x R4 is also a very good choice (i have this one), all these can be upgraded with the latest components and have excellent cooling for them. Nobody likes the new generation of Alienwares, they are not up to Alienware's standards. Less features and soldered components. Although, this may take a bit of researching, but eh... #the hard life of laptop gamers

Yousef Al-Hunaif No, there are newer models with NVIDIA 900M series graphics cards. www.xoticpc.com/custom-gaming-laptops-notebooks-alienware-ct-95_51_402.html
honestly, i like the m18x r1 and r2 design, heaviness, build, than newer alienware,, .. m18x r1 and r2 are pretty solid..
Amazing! Great review! I don't care what anyone says, this machine is nothing short of amazing.
Also you should do 1 on 1 with your employees, like interviews, and do walk arounds in your awesome facility. That would be cool!

Thanks Ultra! I was also pleased to see the DVD Drive being so easy to access, So how many slots is that? 3x SATA slots, and 2 MSata slots?
CrysisBunny 3 SATA and 1mSATA, but you can maximise it up to 6TB (1TB mSATA ram, 1TB SSD instead of disk drive and 4TB in the form of 2TB HDDs)

Would you prefer this laptop or the MSI GS60 Ghost?
you guys should do a review of the Sager NP9377! I am wanting to buy it but cant find any video that really shows the size and performance of the laptop.
Thanks I will be buying! And one more question when are you guys planning on selling peripherals ? Cause I see that in the coming soon section.
I'm with you man, I hope we can see your full review, your reviews are awesome man :)
BTW, what is the difference between NP9377 & NP9377-S ?
Hello, does the GPU is also upgradeable for the future cards? 9xx M cards for example.. thanks
Thanks for the reply! ***** & *****
Beast. It's awesome, but too big for me though. I'd buy this if I was looking for a desktop replacement.

Can you control the fan speed ?
Any idea when these are 980m ready? Your site says the 980m is available, yet is not a configurable option :(

***** ok appreciate the response!
***** a LAN only rig? i thought that was a job for laptops :D?
Great videos!
+XOTIC PC is this better or worse than the Alienware m18x R2?

13:11 How many HDDs it can support actually ? I see 3 HDDs clearly there in BIOS, and is the ODD one additional, taking the total to 4 ?
Anyways, it is a good and comprehensive review.
Will you guys be doing one for the 980M sli version too, once it is out.
Cheers!

there is 16 total, if you were to SLI, you would only take advantage of 8 though

tetsuya kuroko This model has an 18" display
I look at their website and the only Alienware laptops I find were the 13", 15", and the 17" models. Disappointed!
