The pain and suffering that you endured Dmitri has gone and you are now at peace. I tender my humble thanks for the many beautiful performances that you left behind to remind us of you. Rest in Peace Maestro.
The low powerful bass notes of the voice of Hvorostovsky contrasted with the high pitched notes of the voice of Fleming are one way of creating beauty from Masculinity and femininity. It makes the world a good place to live in at least for a while. Beautiful team and listening to this is a break from my engineering harmony, for it is that too. There is music in everything.
What a heavenly ending she provides; the perfect bookend to the powerfull beginning her partner provided. Masculinity and feminity immortalized in song.
Sublime and magnificent. They're both beautiful in voice and form. Proof God exists. He, sadly, left us far too soon. He serves the music of paradise. Mil gracias por compartir.
What a marvelous interpretation. I haven't seen and heard a final note like this, sublime, incredible !. Wow, there are a lot of outstanding singers around the world, one of them, sometimes under a shadow"s tree, waiting for an opportunity.
Lips are silent, violins whisper: Love me! Every step says: please love me! Every hand-clasp shows it clearly. Now I know, it's so, it's so, you love me!
Lippen schweigen, 's flüstern Geigen: hab mich lieb! All die Schritte sagen: Bitte, hab mich lieb! Jeder Druck der Hände deutlich mir's beschrieb. Er sagt klar, 's ist wahr, 's ist wahr, du hast mich lieb!
fleming also speaks german fluently, and hvorostovsky has admitted that it is his most difficult language. at least he's trying; i still love hearing him
Such an wonderful voice has Dmitri, just like the russian he is . Russians are famous, in general by their voices. Beautiful duet. * Voz maravilhosa tem Dmitri, bem como o russo que ele é. Oh, yes, I think he did! He's watching her to get them. He does this every now & then, giving us the occasional "dar-de-dar" as filler or repeating an earlier verse. It's one of his most charming qualities, giving a human touch to all that Cary Grant perfection! Why don't they do this on stage?
The (crucial) thing about this duet is - they have just had a blazing row and Danilo - realising that it was all wrong - is trying to bury it, hence 'lippen schweigen' = please hold your upset. She knows it too but it takes her much of the duet to come round to agree she really does love him. The drama is exquisite!
jsjuti : rity63 : No Hvo did not forget his text. It only sounds like that. It is just his typical "mumbling" and throaty phrasing of text, here the German text "jeder Druck der Haende", which makes it sound like "dar-de-dar" (nice expression !).
I think Hvorostovsky's German diction is excellent, I'm surprised. Not that easy for a native Russian speaker. Would love to see those two in an operetta.
You remain the best Sir. Rest in Gods peace. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with the world.

Lippen schweigen,
