When Street got there I wish he had hugged her and said he loved her! Maybe she would think more about just going with her heart instead of her head.
that just can’t happen, he wouldn’t compromise her at work, they gotta keep things professional on the field, and she hasn’t given in to her heart cause like she told him last season they ‘would probably break up in a month’ because of the pressure of trying to keep a secret their relationship, and that’s not what we want.
there gotta be smg that sets the path for them to finally be together first, otherwise they would be prone to break up sooner than later…

That's never happen because Chris can't get close to anyone. She's too busy saving the world and her job is her entire life which is lonely and sad. I understand Street loves her but how long is he gonna let her string him along and keep him waiting for something that's never going to happen.
@@masonorosco1090 I think Chris is a complex person.. she does focus on work a lot because she doesn't have a personal life... Erika was good for her but they killed her off... Street is good for her too but the rules... not sure how it will end... we have had some heavy Chris episodes so hopefully the nxt few will focus on Tan and Luca.
Well damn 😫😫 if I stayed up and actually watched this episode live, I'd be like, "That's it?! No hug or 'thank God you're okay' or 'I'm just glad you're okay' from Street?" 😔
Next episode idea lol street goes to Chris’ apartment to see how she is cause she is recovering from her leg. He leans over to help her and she just can’t resist and it’s on!!

Not much but I think the scare of something bad happening to her might push her to finally act on her feelings for Street. You could tell how much he wanted to hold her when he got there. Let’s keep hoping I guess and just hope it’s not been a waste of hopes lol
lol, you still have hope. I am disappointed that writers are just fooling fans for ratings and so we can talk about the series, their relationship beyond the slow burn. Let stris move on so fans can in my opinion.
Chris wink looks like she had something in her eyes and the looks are always the same given to Street.
After I had watched the sneak peeks for 5x09, I had a better understanding of what the writers meant by this episode paralleling 5x02.
In 5x02, Chris tells Street she wants to be with him but refuses to break any rules for them to be together. She loves him; we can see it. In a world where they were not governed by S.W.A.T's policies, they would have gotten together ages ago. But Chris is also a young, bisexual, Hispanic woman. She is a female cop. And not only that but the only female officer among S.W.A.T's ranks. For all of Chris' tenacity and self-reliance, we have seen throughout the show how judgment from her male counterparts inhibits Chris. Not among the members of her team, no. But definitely from others. A woman in Chris' position has to work within the system she is given; she must consistently work twice as hard as others to be considered as good as the men. She has to cross all her T's and dot all her I's. It takes only an infraction, the first sign of weakness, for all her hard work to crumble. And that leaves out all the jokes and innuendos she has to deal with. When she informs Street how she is accustomed to "fighting to keep what little she has," we understand how it rings as an accurate descriptor of her experiences. We empathize with her rigid stance to adhere to the rules as it insulates both her and Street from administrative reproach and herself from immaturity and vulgarity from her male colleagues.
But, several episodes later, the narrative uses Chris, as a Hispanic woman, to tackle another social issue - illegal immigration. Chris is an officer sworn to enforce the law, facing off against another officer on illegal immigration, with her defending its merits for the welfare of noncitizens in stark need of it. With this, in addition to her ongoing clandestine, unofficial romantic relationship with Street, the theme for her character arc this season becomes clearer. 5x02 establishes our starting point - she is not looking to break the framework she must abide by. She is not willing to rebel in fear of the consequences. As the season progresses, her story transitions to who and what she finds important enough that she is compelled to break the rules. Who is Chris Alonso willing to fight for, at considerable risk to the security she has carefully constructed for herself?
And so this dilemma on the safe house and her support of Mama Pina is the parallel.
I suspected the writers may just focus on Deacon and Chris' opposing views on Mama Pina's social work, using the new guy as a supporting character. And as it turned out, I was right.
I know all Stris shippers, myself included, were keenly hoping for a dangerous situation to propel Chris into finally relenting on the impasse currently keeping her apart from a robustly in love Street. But what was happening in this episode for Chris is bigger to her character development than her and Street.
The trajectory is Stris. This episode did not revoke the path they are on. Because the writers are taking liberties to show us how their connection is unique to the rest of the team. That look they exchanged? That’s a husband and wife look. The way Street was beside himself with worry, just wanting to reconnect with her? That’s not a non-romantic state of being. And considering she took the time to glance back at him, needing the connection too? Those feelings of Street’s are reciprocated.

wow great analysis!! i think we’re on the right track, chris needs to take the decision to be with street herself, and that can only be with her realizing how real, strong and palpable are her feelings for him and that he is truly worth fighting for!

That is an excellent analysis. A view of the characters as a writer would have. I do want to see Stris together but I remind myself that in their universe they are real people and they are 'in' it. With all their fears and their past they need time as it is not a fairy tale. It's just that we don't see the characters in their personal lives at all, we don't see what they do, what they feel or think (i.e. those sleepless nights thinking about the one you want, what you want and overanalysing everything). That is what is hard for me, we only see them from one perspective and that creates tunnel vision. I wish they were showing more personal moments but the show is about the 'job family'...I think we need to trust them, the writers, as they have done an excellent job in the past. One thing though, I don't think they are doing Street justice. He is kept 'still' even though he just lost him mom he still has no personal growth or any issues to overcome. I believe that is for Chris to catch up but still...What does he do in his free time now that he is not communicating with Chris? Is he not meeting new people, is he just patiently waiting for Chris with complete disregard for his needs, wants and desires? That is my only question. Oh and how about Luca????? If they are going to be fair and wholesome they should be to everyone.

Great episode !!! Lina Esco was amazing. Of course it would have been nice to a little more of Stris. But wow the way that they looked at each other, priceless !!! And we have to remember that Alex Russel directed the previous episode so it was a little obvious that he wasn’t to be in a lot of scene. After directing an episode, they have to do the editing, that kind of stuff. I don’t know if you noticed already but when an actor of a show is directing an episode, he never is a big part in the next episode. But I hope for a little more Stris next week. 😃
I think Chris talking to Deacon about the legacy he would have if he wasn't around and that she was jealous of it...is possibly something that might help her actually be with Street!!

They're just baiting fans of the relationship at this point. Luckily, I don't just watch this show for this ship. I love chemistry of the cast.
@@stinka4079 I used to watch SWAT for the whole show but then got sucked in last season to the Stris story.. I was so disappointed with the hype and let down.. that I am going back to watching the show for what it is... that way I am not disappointed and can just enjoy the show.
@@issyikhis3449 I know what you mean. I don't particularly like the writers throw that #stris hashtag around like gold bricks. Even, if the promo clip has nothing to do with Chris and Street. I don't like being patronized.
On twitter the Stris fans keep working themselves into a frenzy too... Its not like the writers are listening to their fans...

@@stinka4079 I stop watching because writers are constantly on Twitter misleading fans, it's silly even though they know nothing is happening between stris in most of ep but a few looks and mislead fans. when watched swat I am reminded nothing happen between Chris and street after four seasons but conversation and looks that lead no way. I stop watching for now. 😵
I wonder if Chris and street are going to be a cupple in the next episode or if some good going to happen between these two because they make a great cupple.

I am taking a leaf out of Street's book... I am giving up on STRIS... I cannot keep getting my hopes high...
I saw the writer said 5x18 but fool me once but not twice. I am disappointed that we are being fooled for ratings. What I am saying may be an unpopular opinion, I have never seen writers lies like this, fool fans or mislead them. If we are never getting anything from Chris and street let them move on, so fans can in my opinion. I love honesty is good. Swat is nice series but stop lying or implying something is going to happen when nothing is going to happen between them. I will take a long break for now. I am done.

@@keshonrobertson1436 The writers didn't even pick up on how much fans were enjoying Erika, before very cheaply killed her off. Them stringing along Stris fans for ratings doesn't surprise me..

Can I just talk about Chris leg for a minute? Did we not hear a crack sound when that bad guy twisted it? How is she standing on it? And, not in agony?
Right??? He snapped it.. she should be in complete agony.. that is one of the few times that the writers have missed it.
Also she is back in field nxt week like how? Unless it's a few wks in-between.

The two looks they share in the same scene , he run to hel checking if he was ok and when she was going away with deacon she turned back watching street as saying him "don't worry i am ok" and he looks so worried...i mean they may not be officially together but they act as a couple
