DX5 Playing Talk Talk "The Party's Over"
Вставка
- Опубліковано 1 жов 2024
- A song from Talk Talk's debut album that I've been performing on some of my live streamings, recorded as an isolated cover now.
Gear used:
Roland JX-8P (5th riff)
Emu Emax (JX and Kurzweil samples)
Emu Emax II (Emu and DX7 samples)
Backtrack previously recorded by me, track by track, on Pro Tools, including Simmons SDS8 for toms.
Original song composed by Mark Hollis, Paul Webb, Simon Brenner, Lee Harris.
Performed here by DX5 Jose Maria Bara.
Lyrics:
The party's over
I never thought you'd stay
The love of laughter
My truth's no longer sane
The party's over
Much older than you'd say
This friend of no-one
Time creases on your face
Take a look at the kids
I've been losing track
This crime of being uncertain of your love
Is all I'm guilty of
The party's over
I never thought you'd stay
A style of reason
This life of masquerade
Take a look at the kids
I've been losing track
This crime of being uncertain of your love
Is all I'm guilty of
Take this punishment away Lord
Name the crime I'm guilty of
Too much hope I've seen as virtue
Name the crime I'm guilty of
Take this punishment away Lord
Name the crime I'm guilty of
Too much hope I've seen as virtue
Name the crime I'm guilty of (x6)
Big fan of TalkTalk and Mark Hollis. epic strings.
Ecstatic to see you kept your promise.
This is one of Talk Talk’s early masterpieces, the first 2 minutes of this track are pure airy synth-pop bliss, it’s the kind of synth-pop I genuinely live for.
Great cover mate!
Thanks Jack
Another very good cover. Talk Talk is always fun.
Thank you RetroSound! :) . Yes, it is an excellent band which remained somehow a bit underratet, appart from their biggest hits like "Such a Shame", "It's my Life", etc.
Incredibly underrated
@@DX5 agree with you.
early Talk Talk is such a masterpiece. great job, Jose. do you plan to record Another Word? incredibly good song in my opinion.
I've recorded "Living in Another World", but "Another Word" not done yet. I will consider to cover more TT early songs :)
Great one
@@DX5 Está buenísimo tu canal, sería una delicia que toques "Until the End of Time" de The Twins 🖤
@@no-soy-bot-no-seas-boludo Great input, NIN. Nice tune. With a lot of DX7 bass :)
Nagyon nagyon tetszik, csodás fülbemászó zene, Márk elképesztően gyönyörű hangja nélkül furcsa hallani, de remekmű a javából. Köszönöm!
Kösz
now all you need is a decent vocalist to do the singing and you've cracked it.....strings sound is perfect ......nice job on the drums too.....'' It's So Serious '' is also a nice synth driven track by Talk Talk that doesn't get much play....maybe you could give it a go....
Surely will consider it. Thanks.
Please do today, thats a great one from the same album!
The line of bass to be very good.
Amazing!
Magnificent.
Good, it is fantastic
Nice 80s
Good job
One of Talk Talk song I love the most. You should try tomorrow started. I would love to hear your cover.
wow, I really enjoyed this.
YES
Hi Jose
I really appreciate your performing. Nice mood.
Please you can the partiture.
I am afraid I can't. I play by ear. Cannot read partitures, therefore I don't have them :(
Hi. You should play your quiet version of Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence if you can. Great stuff. :-)
Da gusto ver este tipo de covers. Muy bien hecho, el resultado es espectacular.
Muchas gracias, Miguel. Es un tema no muy conocido de Talk Talk pero que me encanta.
I know that this maybe a lot to ask, but can you please transfer all of your work on here to spotify? There's a lot of good synth on there, but it would be really nice to have yours on there too. :) 👾🚫🧠⚡🕹
Thanks for the input. Not now (unfortunately). Let's see in the future. Thanks for your interest :)
Take a look at the kids. I've been loosing track.
Yeah I got that correct!!! I played too.
Excellent!
I see you’ve had other Talk Talk requests in these comments, I don’t suppose you could squeeze in Have You Heard the News? That’s my other favourite off this first album!
Thanks for the suggestion, Jack. Let's see what other TT songs I can make :)
Beautiful sound 👍🏻😇
En que día y horario va este en vivo maestro?
Hey Jose. Hope the storms did not cause any havoc for your equipment or electricity :-) just was going to suggest the song Every Day is Halloween since Halloween is coming up. I can’t remember the artist but it’s very synthy. Also, it was the song warm leatherette that I was saying sounded a bit German, but I guess the lyrics are definitely British sounding with the underpass and all that jazz… i’ll have to look that one up because I don’t know it well.
Yes, I've managed to read that you were talking about Warm Leatherette and not Self Control, when leaving the live streaming, Cheers!
@@DX5 No worries. I’ve been listening to that ministry song every day is Halloween on my Alexa device. I had to look them up to remember where they were from and they are actually American! I thought they were British. I guess I really don’t know that much about all these bands :-)
Alphaville summer in berlin cover please ...
Yep. Lot of requests of that one. Probably recording it soon.
Good stuff Jose! 👍
Paul Webb's bassline is superb on this.
@@DX5 Absolutely, textbook example of how to work with a melody to add texture and depth to a tune.
good job!
