I have been doing this since I was a child who was being abused. It calmed me down. It is why I am still an artist at 79. I don't care that much about selling it actually. It just makes me feel at ease.
This was fantastic! After the unexpected loss of a friend this year, it has completely reconfigured how I view life as an artist. I am in the very beginning steps of starting the schooling process to eventually become an art therapist! Here's to 2024 :')
I'm truly grateful for this 'piece of art'. I'm proud of everyone involved, from the art therapists to the students to the production team. And everyone should be proud of themselves. It takes courage to enrol in Art therapy and make it part of their healing and developing journey. I wish there was more content like this as well as scientific research proving how empowering and enlightening ART therapy can be. I've learned so much from this documentary. Thank you so much
Thank you.❤ great video. I’m just starting out as an art facilitator at a mental health and substance abuse facility. Excited for the future in Art Therapy. Keep up the good work.
This video is amazing. Im currently taking an art therapist practitioner certification course cause I've been using Art for therapy for years and id love to live my dream job and help others too!
Thank you so much for making this documentary. Putting in writing my thoughts on paper about art therapy is easy for me now, after watching this video.💕❤Kudos to all the art therapists around the globe for your contribution for the welfare of the society. 👏👏🙏🙏Long way to go ahead for me as a budding art therapist. 🤗Thank a zillion again 💕💕❤-from India
Since I was I'm 12 the grade In class of 2022 I made the decision to be a art therapist and a lot of people told mean my counselor my speech therapist told me it was the best avenue to go into to I'm taking there advice not giving up on my dreams to become one
This is awesome. The power that art wields is being displayed here. I am a professional artist presently conducting a PhD thesis on Art as Therapy and its efficacy on Physically Challenged Children with Orthopaedic Impairment. I am open for collaborations, opportunities, mentorship and present and future connections.
Any technique that helps one to explore creativity and self expression is good! There are no rules to art. Art therapy encourages experimentation and exploration in safe manner that is comfortable to the individual.
From my research it’s very much Freudian based (at least in the uk) and I’m in a similar boat. I don’t agree with Freud’s teachings but I’ve seen the power of art therapy. Maybe someday soon there will be different theories to explain the practice.
Im an art psychotherapist in nhs and private practice. I use lots of lenses, i do consider id, ego super ego stuff, but i am very much attachment based. Transference, countertransference important, i think of jung, sometimes work from an archetypal lense. Sometimes i bring in cognitive perspectives and mentalization based therapy. I am qualified in emdr and life span integration. Depending on patient we use art more or less. Art in art therapy is ultimately about communicating non verbally and expressing the unexpressable. Being able to attune to clients non verbally is core. That can be understood through a freudian lense or other lenses.

Can a painter doing art therapy use 2 brushes at the same time in one hand? Would it be considered wrong?
