Cool to hear that you're also using Zoho One! I just spoke at the Zoholics event last week in Sydney.

Cool to see your booth. I'm using the Elgato Prompter for Zoom and the film & TV production private coaching I do. Have you ever tried the prompter for your client VO scripts or is it just easier to have it on a screen or printed? I have not tried that yet.

Man, I miss having my workspace in a basement.
I find your lack of electric spaghetti both inspirational and upsetting.
And yeah, when did you jump to a teleprompter? I finally figured out how to use mine and not look like I'm under the influence...

That teleprompter is clutch. I have been using a similar setup for professional meetings as well for the past year and it's been incredible. People are always impressed with the ability to make eye contact with them. I bought a special display that did have the mirror feature on it, and it was really expensive due to being a specialty display. I did not know about that hardware signal mirror box that you're using. I actually wanted to go with a larger display but was limited in size because the specialty ones with hardware mirroring were limited in dimensions. I am going to check that box out - I might be able to upgrade from my dinky 9" teleprompter to something like 24" with it.

Hey Mike. Big Fan of the content. Reference you for reaper stuff when needed. Idea for content (which you may have already done in earlier videos) - Tell us about your path to V.O. work. How did you get here? Wondering if you were self taught or were an engineer or something. What made you realize you had "a voice." You seem to know a lot about the peripherals and you make it look effortless. Keep up the great work.

Love this vid Mike and all that you share. The cable management piece still has me shivering.

    Yes, complicated! But helpful. 👍
My desktop has the monitor where I would have the copy. *How do I get that into the vocal booth I'm having made so that I can actually read it!* _Don't have a strong enough laptop._
Your suggestions would be really helpful. This is currently a painpoint and I'm going to have the vocal booth constructed soon.
Thank you as always for your content and help.

Oh the joys / nightmares of studio cable management :-)
Given current UK energy pricing the next thing I think I'll add is power measurement; in order to accurately separate the business use from the total household bill.

I reconfigure things so often, I let cable management slide. ;-)

Hello Mike, Just a small question to ask you. Do you plug your microphone straight into your Audient interface, or do you use an outboard Mic pre connected to your Audient interface? I am of course talking about when you are in your booth not at your desk.

Nice setup! Thank you for the tour. With everything in the office, do you find heat a problem, and if so how do you manage the background noise of the gear and/or air flow?
Halfway thru, so if you address this in a bit, you can ignore the question :-)

I like the setup that you have but it is way too complicated for me. But I do like the desk and the fact that it has sections to where you can put your equipment.

Is every video he does these days just a sponsored video? Remember before he moved, when he used to do fun videos all the time? Checking out microphones just for the fun of it? Those were the good videos.

    • @lx130
      @lx130 2 роки тому +7

IMHO videos will change over time. But he's been the consistent Mike. And if these sponsored videos are things that interest him to review and provide his opinion. More power to him, get the bag and provide information. To me it honestly feels like a natural progression of growth.

Even though sponsored, this is a great video.
