What's amazing is that he never scored again. He only scored two international goals in his career and those were the ones we needed to defeat an amazing Croatian team and move on to the final. An unbelievable defender, a real rock and a true warrior on the pitch.

Thuram and Desailly were one of the best duo in football history. Conceded only 2 goals over 7 matches. Italy repeated it on 2006, however France never played "Catenaccio" that makes it looking even more amazing.

@Napoléon Bonaparte That's exactly my point: you can't draw too many conclusions from the number of goals. Can you seriously say that Spain didn't play offensive against, e.g., Germany? The score was just 1-0, but Germans still remember that match as an incredibly offensive and dominant performance, by the way against one of the best teams Germany has ever had.

Yes he was never a zero. I think the UA-camr meant he never scored a goal for France and he did 2 goals and it was his only goals for the national team the goals were legendary which made him a legend of French football.
"Zero" just refers to Thuram's poor position that allowed Suker to beat offside trap and France was then behind 0-1.

I clearly remember that game. Thuram a defender scoring twice was just unbelievable. But what was even more unbelievable is the lack of true forwarder in the French team throughout the whole tournament. They got extremely lucky to make it to the final match and win the world cup.
