Syrup Solution
- 1/2 cup flavored syrup (or juice with no calcium or citric acid)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 tsp sodium alginate
Calcium Lactate Bath
- 2 cups water
- 2 tsp calcium lactate (we also experimented with 1 tsp and it worked well!)

I tried this, it worked very well and it is DELICIOUS!!!! make sure you use sugar free toranni syrup though, the ones with sugar in them did not work. the sugar free ones do contain citric acid, but it works. Thank you so much for the recipe. I love it!

One thing to remember is the longer you keep your liquid in the calcium lactate, the harder it’s shell will become and it will get a stronger chemical flavor.
If you want to avoid that, simply make smaller portions at a time :]

They said don’t use syrups with Citric acid but both of the ones they used have it. Does that brand use a low enough level that the spherification still works?
