About time. Daimler Buses have honestly been pretty slow on this front if I'm gonna be honest. But I can only hope they'll go full speed ahead now with more electric models like an eCapacity and an eIntouro and eTourismo. Their timeline doesnt give me much confidence though, it really seems like the Daimler bus team is behind the market. Interurban electric bus operations have already been the norm in the Nordics for several years now, and electric coaches are slowly making a mark in tandem with electric trucks, mostly just held back by heavy vehicle charging infrastructure and a lack of options on the market. And in those cases then the charging infrastructure is slowly being built out as we speak, and chinese companies are the big firstmovers on the vehicles themselves. If Daimler doesnt start going fast on this front they'll just be left behind in the market.
Likely holding batteries and other technical equipment. Its frankly a bit outdated as most other bus manufacturers have removed them in their electric buses and stored the equipment in it elsewhere.
It looks nice, but I do think that the new Alexander Dennis Enviro200 EV looks much better, although I'd doubt that they will sell that in Mainland Europe anytime soon.

Hey, you can ask what that big box does at the back of those E Citaros
the motor perhaps?
