Looks good. I think the center red lens is for high beam indicator.
Thank you, I was unsure of what that one was for.
Wow thesegauge are very interesting. Thanks to share.
Thank you Sylvain.
Nice work. Thanks.
Thank you Old Town.
That was very helpfull...thank you
Thank you Tory.
Wow those came out great.
Thank you.
Good job Chris ! Keep up the good work 👀
You got that right.
Excellent video :) and keep them rolling to some in future too!
Thank you Andrews
@@pennyshotrodscustoms welcome guys
Nice job on restoring the speedometer going to be a pretty sweet truck
Thank you Mikey.
Just that steady slow hard work can win the race. The Turtle can always beat the Rabbit. Oftentimes projects take time to complete.
Thank you Jacob, it definitely takes time to do things right.
Just keep teaching me how I can do my own restoration one day. Very good job fellas 👏 👍
Thank you Troy, just takes time, money, sweat and a few friends.
The red indicator is for high beams.
Thank you Dennis.
Did you notice the needle is not sitting at o...take the numbers and drop in the original face. The needle is on a fragile spring..if you notice the needle you painted stops where you leave it should drop to 0...you can take all your good work and put it in the better face... the needle not sitting at 0 will be off...just my take...love all the work you guys do
Thanks will look at it
The kitchen table, the ultimate indoor work bench! Good job Chris! I used the original light sockets on my coupe without an issue, if not they make a universal socket that will work. The bulb size should be like a 67, 1893, 1895 for 12 volt applications. Go Penny's!
Kitchen tables work great, most of them even have chairs with them.
Great teaching video and clear. Need your video on the other gauges being switched to 12 volt. please
That video is in the editing stage right now, the little I do and should be up within a week.
You can use a small wire brush wood handle to use as a punch instead of the screwdriver. It works good and it's safer.
Thanks for the good tip
The Red lens is for the high beam indicator.
Thank you Brian. I was unsure what it was for.
Very good reference video Chris , thanks for making it . All those little details add up .
Thank Greg
Now that’s a hammer ! Looks great 👀
Get back to work
Made me laugh. When I removed my huge kitchen table my buddies would come over all confused. Where's your workbench they'd say. Lol
That is pretty much what mine is part of the time.
Chris: I know Mac's (Eckler's) does the odometer #'s in a self adhesive strip for early Ford's. Would probably work for yours. A lot times the reason the odometer wouldn't work was the grease in the meter would dry up, get hard and bind the the gear.
Thank you Glenn. The first one I took apart had a lot of dried up grease, but the good one looked great.
I'm about to start filming the same thing on my channel today. Edna is a 50 so it's a little different.
Nice there a job that no one likes doing lol
Red light Hi Beam indicator ?
Thank you Paul.
Don't put it face down on the speed needle law it so that the pressure is off the face.
Take off the clip when you reinstall line all the forks at the shelf below
Thank you
Hope they work as good as they look !
Sure hope so
Is that Red lenses for the high beam,?
Yes it is, I just found out.
I had a buddy of mine when we were younger and he's redoing an old Speedo and he was pushing it back together like you were with the screwdriver and it slipped went right into his chest
That's not good.
Nice job, especially on the glass seal! Did you use a drill to test the speedo, or just spin it by hand? The intro said you will build your own voltage converters for the instruments. Just sayin’, Ford used 6 volt instruments well into the 1970s. Look on the back of any Ford instrument panel (you must have tons of em) for the little square step down converter, that feeds the gauges. Works great. You can also buy these new, but I found the old Ford ones to be more reliable.
Thank you Merc Man. Yes i just turned it by hand to see if it works. In the next guage video I am making my own voltage reducers for this truck, or should I say attempting.
@@pennyshotrodscustoms that will be interesting. I looked up a new one and they start about $20. I just figured y’all have plenty of access to Fords in junkyards, you could snatch one out of a wreck. Will stay tuned. Thanks!
@@IowaMercMan Thank you
The red is your high beam indicator. Both of your turn signal lights blink for the flasher. I would have replaced the red plastic with blue. You did not get to the gauges in this video, do you get to them in another video?
Are you gonna do one with the speedometer cable......matching old to new cable ends if you're not using the original transmission?
We bought a new cable and if I remember when we mocked up the motor and trans that it fit in the Chevy turbo 350. The gear ratio is another question.
Friend, friend, I liked the video, would you have any of this watch controls, "battery, gas, temp and oil", for sale or use parts?
We are keeping most of the parts for a second truck.
can you please link to the plastic sheets you bought. green/red.
