The lore explained for "still here" is pretty nice because it's such a lore packed video, whether you have it as a video or just watch it on your own is up to you but the one by Necrit is highly recommendable :)
@@imaguyhello5457 oh yeah, would make sense that some would only know him for his recent genshin stuff, even though he was THE league lore gut for literally ten years, even recognised by Riot multiple times. UA-cam algorythm at work there
The wolf and lamb at the end are Kindred is the "God of Death" such a cool concept from a story telling and visually captivating. Very different from the badass red guy Aatrox at the beginning but you'd be surprised how much story he comes with too. League has great creators and a lot of time into the stories fleshed out. Soooo much cool story behind the second cinematic!!! And yes, the lore video Necrit has (I think he has 2 videos) they are a must.
@@SapFeaRon Maybe this was the same update but i seem to remember this being released at the same time as the Dominion map i think it was called was released. The capture point they look towards at the end looks like 1 of the 5 Dominion capture points.
If that video of the "Still Here Lore Explained" video is by Necrit, then yes! He likes to do videos about the lore of League of Legends on his channel and does a very good job explaining it to veterans and newcomers. Awesome reaction by the way! I hope you do more! 😸👍
"Still Here" is very lore heavy. It is basically about Death with a capital D. Death is the lamb and wolf pair in the end, lamb is the bow user and wolf is obviously wolf, they are named Kindred. Their duo portrays the duality of death, wolf is the violent death, struggle trying to escape it, while lamb is the peacful, quick end of acceptance. The first fight is the past. Kayle (white angle) and Morgana (black angle) they were the aspects of justice There is more to unpack here but not enough text area for the relationship between the 2. They are fighting against the Darkin (god warrior corrupted) Aatrox, the being is the sword that took over a mortal body and reshaped it with bloody magic, hence the synergy with sword heart. Morgana sacrifices part of her power to restrain him so Kayle finishes it. Lamb appears in the flames when they consume Aatrox, you see Lamb cause wolf is consuming the host in the form of flames (Aatrox does not die only the host) and oviously a violent death, cause blood magic kept the host alive forcefully. Second is the future. Old Yasuo, he saves a village from most likely raiders who either appaer due to an other Noxus invasion or just bad guys I am not sure about that part. It is pretty straightforward from there, he saves the woman and the baby and finishes the ppl there but they send a lot of arrows his way, he knows he is finished and accepts death. You see wolf in the tree line. He accepts death so Lamb's arrow finishes him. The final is basically the present. It is Tryndamere fighting. In short, they are in tribal war. In the begining you see soldiers encircling him, then we get to see him fight Kindred. The second part is basically all in his head. His rage and innate blood magic basically keeps him alive on deaths door. Kindred tries to end him as obviously he should be dead, but because of said powers he can fight back. Kindred is neutral tho so when his wife, Ashe appears saving him Kindred leaves him as from that point onward he is no longer on deaths door. Kindrad can't take his life.
It's very interesting because you're supposed to see Kindred in the last seconds of your life. But what about Tryndamere. Does he see Kindred every time? I never thought about that.
@@thorvaldoinson688 Yeah thats true and from Kindreds perspective he is at deaths door and should walk through it but somehow manages to refuce to getting pulled in and Kindred does everything they can to try and force death on Tryndamere during hes rage. I think Necrit put it perfectly when he said that this wasent the first time he fought Kindred as Tryndamere dosent even seem supriced to se them coming for him.
@remmy3571 I wonder if Tryn would die of old age since he isnt a full Darkin or Hemomancer. He cant die in battle cause of the rage but would his body eventually wither away from age? Maybe thats when Kindred would finally be able to take him.
Yeah the Lore video is well worth checking out!! There is actually a follow-up on on the same channel too! I knew next to nothing about the characters in Still here, but Necrit does an amazing job at breaking it down for new comers! :)
@@HannaHsOverInvestedNecrit have lore explaination video on it Leagueoflegendscinematic StillHere. #The Awaken, Warriors, The Call, Still Here Cinematic and Riot Forge games like Song of Nunu are canon to Arcane show.
A lot of the abilities shown in A New Dawn actually exist, but they're a lot more impressive due to it being a high quality cinematic. They're basically showing you the playstyles of the characters and some of their abilities while you enjoy the show!
ADC playstyle, get one shot by the assassin and do nothing but flame the supp and let it die, but still try to capitalize on the supp skills in the end to take all the credit.
that last bit is always my favorite the part with ''Sean Bean'' especially 15:38 part because lore wise that girl that saves him in the end is his wife. In the lore they are married because of political reasons, they are both leaders of different clans and had to get married to keep the peace but eventually fell in love and became leagues own power couple :)
Definitely see the lore video. As others said, this video is so full of lore that having some background info really makes you appreciate the tiny details in the cinematic. Plus, as a writer yourself I know you'd appreciate the heck out of this lore.
It's so weird being a 2WEI fan because I end up seeing people react to LoL cinematic stuff and it feels like they're reacting to my favorite music. Love it.
Absolutely yes to watching Necrit's lore video. It will make you appreciate the artistic decisions of the writers in Still Here. Watching it again knowing the lore is a delight to creativity.
while "A new Dawn" is really just a show of of the characters and their abilities- simulating the usual 5vs5 game, "Still here" is very lore accurate and honestly, without knowing that, you miss half the good implications and art/cinematic choices here - everything is placed for a reason there and it is just fantastic. League has a pattern where it takes 3 events into one cinematic to tell the story. In this case they went even further in artistic choice - the overall topic is "still here - prevailing against death (=lamb and wolf, which you can spot in all three events!)". The first setting is the past, the second with yasuo is a possible future and the third is the present with Ashe rescuing her husband Tryndamere from the wintersclaw tribe (when she rescues him, kindred(lamb and wolf), the concept of death, vanishes since his life is not in danger anymore. I highly recommend to watch the lore explaining video on this cinematic. I love all the expressions alone that convey so much already - especially at the end and of course we see a lot of abilities here too - everything avcoding to the ingame mechanics :) I think Necrit explains them as well.
Most of what you see characters do in "A New Dawn" are specifically renditions of abilities they have in the game so, yes you can do those things in the game to anwser your question.
The whole theme is "StillHere", referencing Kindred who is DeathIncarnate. Whether it's the Past (Morgana &Kayle), Present (Tryndamere), and Future (OldMan Yasuo). Death is "Still Here" no matter whattime it is. You can see Kindred in the Fires of thePast destroying Aatrox, Facing Tryndamere, andShooting a Fatal Arrow at Old Man Yasuo in thehead.
Ok, so for the "Still Here" cinematic, the whole thing centers around a being called "Kindred" who is the personification of death in the League of Legends universe (like the grim reaper). It's a dual being. The "Lamb" and the "Wolf". When they come for you, you either accept the Lamb's arrow and get a peaceful death, or you rage against it and die a nasty / violent death from the wolf. With that in mind, the first sequence in the cinematic is Morgana (More-Gah-Nuh) and Kayle (like the green leafy shit Kale), twin sisters whose mother was the Aspect of Justice, and gave them each half of her sword to fight the Darken (kinda like a demons). This particular one they fight is named Aatrox (Eh-Trocks). His sword pulses like that because where the Darken actually resides is within the sword, and when someone picks up the sword, they are corrupted into the thing we see the sisters fighting. In the game we always see Morgana and Kayle how they are now, whereas this video is them way in the past before the both accepted who they really are. Morgana accepts the "darkness" (for lack of a better explanation) of humanity and Kayle becomes the new Aspect of Justice forsaking all humanity within her entirely and becoming very cold and inhuman. That's why you see her smirk / give Morgana a condescending look as she walks by. She's disgusted with "what she's becoming". You'll also notice that neither the lamb or wolf are present in this fight because even though the body Aatrox corrupted died in the fire, Aatrox himself doesn't die, because he's inside the sword, which is indestructible, hence, he's immortal. For the second sequence, the character's name is Yasuo (Ya-Sue-Oh). He's a very popular character who actually has his own mini movie that they made about him that's fucking beautiful, but the gist is he's like a samurai who's spent his whole life fighting and has special wind powers which are so unique that at one point in his life he was framed for killing his master because someone used something that made it look like he did it, and was chased down by his brother and they fought and he ended up killing his brother in self defense. Anyway, this sequence is a vision given to him of one of his possible futures. In this particular one, he's given up on his path and stopped using his wind powers entirely at first, and eventually realizes he *needs* them if he wants to be able to save these people, so he starts using them again, but you'll notice there's no blood anywhere, and that's because he refuses to actually kill anymore, and so instead he uses the wind to knock people out, not kill them. Then at the end, he sees a literal *wall* of arrows coming at him, and decides that he's saved all the people in the village, so he's no longer needed, and closes his eyes, apparently accepting his death, but they've purposely left it open, because that's what Yasuo often does. He closes his eyes to center himself before he acts (like earlier in the cinematic where he split the arrow in half), so it could be he's accepting his death, and that white arrow represents the Lamb's sweet release of death, or if you look closely you'll also notice that in the background the Wolf lurks, waiting for Yasuo to try to resist, so it can attack him and "take his life" violently. Then in the last sequence, the guy with the big sword is Tryndamere (Trin-Duh-Meer) and his special power is that he has a supernatural rage that is so powerful, he literally can't die, no matter what (for a short amount of time), and so you see him fighting the Wolf, but the cool thing is that he isn't really fighting the Wolf or the Lamb, he's *actually* fighting all the people that surrounded him in the very beginning of the video, it's just that we're seeing the fight *conceptually* as him "fighting off death" (AKA the Lamb and the Wolf) and at first the Lamb is confused because who is this man that isn't dying when they come to claim him and accepts neither the sweet release of death nor dies to the violence of the wolf? Nobody has ever done that before, and all of a sudden the Lamb lowers their bow because they realize it isn't his time to die. His wife Ashe (Ash) has come to save his life and fight by his side, and as she arrives, we fade back to reality as his rage dissipates (we see this physically as his eyes go from red, back to their normal color), because this woman he initially married for political reasons but then ended up falling in love with for real has come to save his life and fight by his side. She is the literal definition of a true ride or die and it's just......*chef's kiss*
There's two videos by that individual who does "The lore explained", the first one that sets the context, and the second one that expands on the info. I recommend both, even if you don't react to them, Necrit is really good.
If you want a lil lore drop about the red demon man with the sword, his name is Aatrox and he is the sword. It's a prison where his soul is trapped inside that also let's him possess whoever picks it up. He's 10 feet tall because that fake body is just people he's been murder blending then using blood magic to reconstruct into a suitable meat suit
I'm not a massive lore guy but I do know the wolf and furry bow lady at end are essentially embodiment of death/Grim Reapers that you see just before you die and if you accept death you get a swift arrow from the Lamb lady and if you refuse death you get ripped to shreds by the Wolf. Whoever designed that whole concept kudos to them, it has so much depth whilst being cool.
When Ahri (the fox girl) giggles, she's using her Charm ability to draw the enemies away from Leona (the golden armored warrior who was almost killed). Charm forces an enemy to follow you for a short time period. :)
Fun fact: the sword has a pulse is because the guy is the sword, and the body is of those who are foolish enough to touch the sword then get possessed and taken over by the sword.
"This sword has a *PULSE*..." was a real joy of mine from this one. For what it's worth, the narrative reason is that the sword _is_ the guy. The dude with the red boobies is just some poor idiot who picked up the sword. As soon as he did that, the sword invaded his body and mutated him into an appropriate host. It's very cool.
Very quick summery of the "Still Here" cinematic: 1st fight - Takes place in the past, depicts the winged twin sisters Kayle and Morgana defending Demacia from an invasion led by Aatrox (a corrupted god-warrior known as a Darkin). 2nd fight - Takes place in the future, depicts a very old version of Yasuo protecting a village (without killing anyone), and ultimately letting himself die in the end. This is presumably a "vision" being given to present Yasuo. 3rd fight - Takes place in the present-ish, depicts the barbarian leader Tryndamere defending himself from Kindred (she's essentially the grim reaper, a metaphor for death). In reality, he was actually fighting off soldiers, and he was fatally wounded (hence why Kindred is trying to claim him), however he is "cursed" with the ability to heal fatal wounds, making him undying. The woman archer in the end is his spouse, Ashe, the War Mother. Some stuff you can read into that are very related to this cinematic: - Darkin (what Aatrox is, will explain why his sword has a pulse) - The relationship between Kayle and Morgana (will involve Aatrox) - The relationship between Tryndamere and Ashe (will involve Aatrox) - Kindred Another content creator known as "Necrit" also makes videos explaining all of the lore, and what's going on in cinematics like these. He's a good source for learning about League's universe, and his videos aren't too long (so they won't be like a 20 part Warhammer series, just quick explanations of lore).
The crazy part about the pulse on his sword at 12:00 is that it isnt just visual. He (Aatrox) is basically something like a demon who IS the sword. And through someone carrying that sword he possesses them so that he has a host to actually achieve whatever he is up to. So yeah the creativity in Leagues lore often surprises me as well.
You should watch the Helldivers 2 intro cinematic. It tells you pretty much everything you need to know about the game's setting and if you're curious about the gameplay aspects, the launch trailer as well as the "Galactic War" trailer should cover that.
if you want to learn more about the universe. necrit did a wonderful video called "the world of riots mmo is already done". it talks about a mmo riots making but he gives a rundown on the universe region by region.
something that people never talk about the first riot video is the expression on the character faces and how there is not one line but they say all you need.
wow i haven't seen any of ur videos for so long Hannah! among hundreds of subbed channels... algorithm, right? I'm so glad to see you again, nice reaction as always! time to click to bell i guess haha
Some of the things shown in this video are clear references to character's abilities, some characters were updated in the years afterward, some abilities are a more "realistic" version of how an ability would work in-game, and some could arguably be a couple abilities (I will not take Riot's word as gospel). Here are roughly the things from these cinematics that you can do in-game. _______________________ *A New Dawn* - A cinematic showing what a teamfight in the map's jungle would look like in-universe, with the ending showing the survivors going towards the enemy base to destroy their Nexus and win the game. 2:51 Katarina does throw blades and leave them around the battlefield 3:17 Darius does swing his axe wildly in an arc/circle 3:28 Darius does jump up before landing his finishing blow (and his attack do cause enemies to bleed even if they don't kill) 3:32 Leona is able to imbue herself with magic to bolster her defenses 3:52 Ahri can charm enemies to lure them towards her (and away from Leona in this cinematic) 4:04 and 4:21 Draven's spinning axes are projectiles that deal huge damage 4:07 Zyra can snare enemies with roots 4:22 Graves can shoot a smokescreen to obscure enemy vision 4:35 Rengar can leap to distant enemies 4:38 Rengar can carve enemies and leave you feeling like there was nothing you could do 4:40 Graves can shoot his gun (insightful, I know) 4:51 Jax can empower his attacks via the flame he wields in his lamppost 4:55 Jax can shrug off enemy attacks 4:57 Darius can pull enemies 5:06 Zyra can miss with her root attack 5:12 Ahri can throw a rebounding ball of magic that pierces everything 5:15 Zyra can summon plants that block non-piercing projectiles 6:33 Katarina can use magic to instantaneously travel short distances to give herself an advantage 6:47 Nautilus can throw and pull back his anchor (he's a living deep sea diving suit) 7:07 Nautilus can cause shockwaves with a stomp 7:30 Nautilus can swing his anchor 7:54 [Daily Double] Nautilus can throw his anchor towards terrain to escape, and he can generate a magic shield 8:51 Leona can summon a beam of sunlight to stop enemy movement and damage them 9:05 Rengar can go invisible and sneak up on enemies 9:16 She can dash and throw magic bursts at nearby enemies ___________________________ *Still Here* - A cinematic showing the past, present, and (possible) future of 3 groups of playable characters. 11:16 Kayle can slap people with her sword 13:04 Morgana can channel magic chains to impair enemy movement and damage them 13:16 Kayle can ascend over the course of a game (and she dual-wields) 13:20 Kayle can send damaging waves at enemies by swinging her swords 14:10 Yasuo can create a windwall to block projectiles 14:19 Yasuo can slap people with wind via dashing by them 14:30 Yasuo can throw tornadoes from his sword 14:35 Yasuo can intentionally die to the enemy team 14:37 Ashe can scout by shooting a "hawkshot" from her bow (seen better at 15:58) 14:51 Kindred (both the Lamb and Wolf) can create an ominous zone where her wolf can dematerialize and rematerialize to attack enemies independently 14:55 Kindred can shoot arrows 15:17 Tryndamere is, "local man too angry to die" 15:18 Tryndamere can do a spinning slash to get closer to his target 15:23 Kindred can leap 15:36 Ashe can shoot a volley of arrows to hit multiple targets simultaneously
1. Pretty much everything you see, you can do in the game as you play them, there is major difference in execution and appearance but they are using their actual abilities. Ie. You can shield yourself as Leona (Shield girl) and promptly die to a Darius ultimate because his ultimate does damage that goes through the shield. You can have vines ensnare your enemies and summon plants to block skillshots (abilities that require aim), however Ahris (foxgirl) main ability, the one she killed Zyra (plant girl) with goes through all targets hit, so effectively useless. 2. The reason Ahri giggled, is that was them trying to demonstrate her ability to charm her opponents (she's a kitsune, seduction, steal life essence), that's why her eyes glowed pink too. Now it functions different in game but that's the whole shtick. 3. 7:00 It's an anchor, he's not a shipcaptain, but he does enforce a toll on ship captains to not be destroyed in his waters. 4. 11:55 The Sword is alive and is the real figure wielding the flesh, which is why the sword has a pulse, Aatrox (Demon man) is a Darkin and they are twisted Godlike beings who were banished into their weapons, his body is a body he possessed and then took his true form. 5. 16:20 That's his wife 6. Don't play League of Legends, it's highly competitive, with a toxic community, but also addicting. Bad batch
Lore video is probably worth checking out. Still Here is one of if not my absolute favorite cinematic because ive gone back a few times and noticed new things each time and its such a feel good feeling lol
The second story of the Video is so good. You can actually see him wrapping his left arm in wind, to deflect attacks, as well as wrapping his sword in wind, as to not kill them, but just knock them out and give them a beating.
oh nice, i've had your books on my to read list for a while (waiting for my library to pick them up mostly) and didn't realize you've got a youtube channel :D I think it was Daniel Green's channel where I heard about them.
I am not sure if you haven't watched it already or are still planing to do, but the explanation for the "Still here" Cinematic is awesome, like so many people already said. I think you would like it ! :)
A lot of the things the characters do in the cinematic are easily recognizable as their abilities from the game. Things like Ahri's orb, Darius's big leaping chop, Leona's sun beam, Nautilus's shockwave, Graves's smoke bomb, Rengar going invisible, I could go on.
the third guy in "Still here" is Tryndamere, in his scene, he's fending off the twin essence of Death, it's his ultimate skill in which he won't die within 5 seconds. Also, the person who came to his aid was Ashe, his wife.
Covering the ears of 'insert animalperson' is a big thing. I've noticed it way back when Inuyasha was still airing and he conveniently had hair covering that part of his face and even when there was wind blowing or whatever it would never reveal that part of his damn head. So cool that you picked up on that tho!
As some people have said the skills used in A New Dawn are in the game. also when Ahri (the tailed girl) "giggled", you'll notice the pink mist around her. That's her in game skill Charm which forces opposing champs to come to her. Also if you want lore Necrit does a lot of league lore on youtube.
I think you should really do the lore behind videos especially the ones made by Necrit. He's the resident lore master of the League community. Still Here is surprisingly lore heavy for what it is.
I’m not going to lie, that moment at the end of the Still Here cinematic when Tryndamere’s eyes soften and change back to blue makes me tear up every time
For those who need context: ( "Kindred" is the combination of lamb and wolf. They are one creature. They are not angel of death.. They are exactly death's form) -This whole cinematic is about Kindred. They are the aspect of death. If you accept death, Lamb (the pale one) gives you a swift release with her arrow. If you avoid it, Wolf (the dark one) will hunt you down and make it more painful -The first scene is in the past somewhere around Damacia. Where the two patron sisters fight Aatrox the darkin. Darkin are akin to demon, they possess an host. In the current lore the sisters do not talk anymore because of their vastly different view on justice. Kindred is always present for a death. So when Kayle (the blonde one) burns it all down. Killing the host of Aatrox, the shape can be seen in the flame -The second is a possible future where Noxus successfully invaded Ionia. Yasuo is trying to save a few people and then dies. You can see wolf eyes in the treeline and Lamb arrow finish him off. You can see he accepts his faith because he looks up for a fraction of a second (Noticing Lamb's arrow) and makes sure to finish off the last guy before kneeling. -The last if Tryndamere in the present state of the lore. He has some of Aatrox blood and a rage so great every time he comes close to dying he pushes it away. Hence why he is fighting Kindred, fighting death. His wife Ashes comes to save him at the end but lamb will come back eventually. -The "I'm still here" is not so much the heroes it is Kindred themselves because death is inevitable. ADDITIONAL INFO; the hero fighting Kindred in the snowy fields is Tryndamere, and his eyes go red because in the game his ultimate ability is a bloodfrenzied fury (in the lore they let it be understood as some kind of infection from Aatrox's blood magic), which makes him literally unkillable for a short amount of seconds, making him the only human capable of fending off death, therefore the only human who can survive a direct encounter with Kindred.
Just a fan fact about still here: The guy in the last part (tryndamere) is fighting a character who is the representation of death within the game's story (Kindred). The wolf and the sheep, never one without the other. The sheep leads those who accept death and the wolf hunts those who try to escape. It's like a regional legend. This fight references Tryndamere ultmate in the game that leaves him immortal for a few seconds. In the end, the woman who arrives (Ashe) and saves his life is his wife. AND ANOTHER FACT: They both have names referencing the riot founder and his wife. His nickname on lol was Tryndamere and his wife's name is Ashley.
The Necrit lore explained video would be phenomenal to react to as a writer. It builds the cinematic to a much higher level of enjoyment once you appreciate the story behind it
You should watch Necrit explanation of the Still Here cinematic, he is a channel that cover all the lore of league of legends and this one is filled to the top with lore
I'd wondered where you had gone. Glad to see you back Hannah. Also still can't believe ferngully is still not on the wall properly haha. It just seems to follow you around in the background :)
I just noticed the Fern Gully poster behind you, probably cuz I just saw that movie for the first time a couple weeks ago. Absolutely underrated movie, I don't know how I never even heard of it til I watched it.
You should watch that lore video for still here because I honestly think that cinematic really shows different parts of league lore that if you play league casually you will never get because you have to go out of your way to read about it. But if you don't wanna watch it here is a really quick version. That sword pulse guy scene is in the past and he is literally corrupted godslayer that is bound to the sword and his body is just someone possessed by him. The old samurai guy scene is literally future (of possibly his last fight before dying) of one of the characters that has his own cinematic explaining a bit about him and his past. The wolf and a lamb with a bow characters are literally the grim reaper and a guy fighting them has in-game ability to be too angry to die so that entire fight is just a metaphor for him refusing to die. And the woman that saves him at the end is his wife and one of the warmothers of the northern tribes.
5:35 - answer, some and it doesn't have effects as such, at least not at THAT scale some examples from movie: - Zyra (that ivy character) can send plants to trap you but it's like you can do spells and stuff and doesn't look spectacular like here - Darius's dunk (this dude with axe) on the Leona (that "shield" girl) is typical for him, special move, and it looks somehow like this - Leona doesn't have such shield, BUT she have protective jump to ally, increasing armor, no visuals at all - Also about the end of movie - yes, Leona have such skill of "snow beam" attack, to stun people, not that spectacular, but even more powerful About 12:10... it's idea because "living sword" is... in the simplest terms, it is a parasite (a separate race of Darkins, once great warriors, nowadays they have to look for strong bodies to possess) that lives its life and possesses a person, making them an incredibly capable beast... there are characters who have fully surrendered to them, there are characters who fight, cooperate, are in synergy, generally have their consciousness and it is Aatrox (this character) who is fully taken over by this parasite. This one is literally referred to as the "World Eater" as he's superior. 15:45 - that will be plot twist, but the fight he had, it was with Kindred (also playable character), which represents the twin essences of death, has Lamb (with bow) and Wolf (fighting in shadows) at the same time. But when the "friend" (you'll see later why in quotes) came, the death couldn't take him. So now, who's "friend", and who is this guy who fought with wofl? Well, The girl who came is Ashe, a warmother of Avarosan tribe (one of the dominant rules of Freljord) - it's her goal to rule and unite Freljord. And the person who was fighting the wolf is Tryndamere... her husband (which "how it happened" is literally story on its own), literally barbarian, with skills which allows him to be immortal when he's on brink of death (you could see his red eyes).
In the past two years or so since I started watching you , I have found myself saying "be friends instead" Also Alice return to madness is my favourite game
Kindred's story is beautiful, you should look up her teaser and her story in general, the still here cinematic would make way more sense as well because she appears at the end of each act of the cinematic as well.
If that Lore explained video u mentioned is the one from Necrit then 1000% yes. The "still here" cinematic is a huge lore dump. Hannah if u have a min or so then pause this video at 14:33 and se if u notice something "scary looking" on the screen that i think u missed. U can se it again at 14:35 and no its not the arrows. Pretty mutch everything that looks abit special in Riots cinematics are based on abilitys the character can use in-game. Like for example Ahri (fox girl) shooting out that green orb she has or the 3 dashes she does at the end of the first cinematic are all abilitys she has in-game so yes they are showing character abilitys mutch more often then u might expect. Leona the heavy armor shield user is a support based character that is extremely tanky and her kit is loaded with 3 crowd control abilitys (CC) and 1 heavy dmg reduction ability and we se 2 of them used. First right away we se Ahri getting pushed aside and Leona taking the hit instead as she actives Eclipse (shiny shield) to boost her def stats and she barely survives it. Its not impossable to kill her through that boost but its very hard to do as her Armor and Magic resist stats skyrocket. The next is at the end her ultimate ability (Solar Flare) shoots out of the sky to stun/stagger Darius. Some can be hard to se but most of them if they look abit special are abilitys from the game and Riot does this in pretty mutch every video they release.
I think the lore explained would be cool so you can see how much actual work is put into it. And how much thought there is in it. Or even the sword/armor combination that you (surprisingly) saw so well. Definitely interested to see your vision, from a writer's perspective.
As much as I enjoy the franchises that I know, it is a different experience watching your videos that I don't. 🤣 Best of both worlds! I was right there with you on the ear fixation.
Last video of the big guy fighting against a wolf and a spirit, that was tryndamere fighting against death itself, they only dissapeared because his wife showed up and killed the danger around him, which made kindred and wolf go away.
"This came out a long long time ago" ...Man I feel old. On another note Kindred (Lamb and Wolf that were fighting at the end) is referenced in Arcane. You see their masks when Vi and Caitlyn go into the club to get information.
One more info .. Tryndamere vs kindred.. That fight was actually happening in Try's mind.. If you look the begining of the cinematic.. There were 8 enemies around him.. But at last, Ashe killed just 2 enemies behind him and after than, we saw all 8 enemies are already dead.. That means Tryndamere was actually fighting that 8 enemies. He killed 6 enemies...But he saw himself fighting Kindred because he was close to death
11:52 All League of Legend cutscenes 100% respect the lore of the characters. to summarize = aatrox, is a darking (immortal), his soul was sealed in this sword. he takes this form again when a person releases him from their sword... this cutscene brings together 3 periods in the lore. present (tryndamere + ashe)... past (about 1000 years ago, aatrox + morgana + kayle).... future (old yasuo)
the Still here explained it's pretty interesting to understand a bit more about the lore behind the video overall, that guy really put a good effort to try to get as many details he can... so I think it's worth it :D the other behind of scenes idk cuz i didin't watch ehehhe
if you're not familiar with the Lore, watching the lore explained will be helpful to learn about each character that appears in the film, their story telling is actually pretty good behind them all.
5:25 Although the video is CGI and not super representative of game flow, it does highlight many of the character's in-game abilities. Ahri does have a magic missile that reaches a certain distance and returns. Graves, the shotgun guy, does have a smoke canister that blinds people within it. Katarina, the red-haired lady can blink in and out of areas and serves as a high-risk high-reward archetype and Leona, the lady with the big shield, does have a sun beam that stuns enemies in place. It's a bit of a product of it's time, but it's one of Riot's best trailers in a way that highlights in-game abilities.
The lore explained for "still here" is pretty nice because it's such a lore packed video, whether you have it as a video or just watch it on your own is up to you but the one by Necrit is highly recommendable :)
yes please that would be great
WHAT the GENSHIN streamer ???
@@imaguyhello5457nice one
@@imaguyhello5457 oh yeah, would make sense that some would only know him for his recent genshin stuff, even though he was THE league lore gut for literally ten years, even recognised by Riot multiple times.

A New Dawn is a cinematic telling of a in game play session. A lot of the abilities are showcased in dramatic fashion.
I was going to say that a lot of the abilities are recognizable as specific abilities.
I can say it's 70% similar to actual gameplay but things happen three times faster in game.
I could have sworn a new dawn was for when the summoner rift got it's update.
@@wenexplosion5538 you are correct.
Yes!!
@@marvinh4893 Oh hai wolfie! Been a couple weeks, how ya been? Lamb, you still doing the whole...death thing?
@@marvinh4893 Technically, each time undying rage is used, he just fight Kindred, because he's litteraly fighting death
11:50 that sword not only has a pulse, it is actually the main body of a character imprisoned within the sword, winged demon is just a puppet.
a puppet made of decaying bodies

I've watched multiple reactions, and every lol player reacted to Ashe same way: "Wife 😃"
You can see Kindred in the Fires of thePast destroying Aatrox, Facing Tryndamere, andShooting a Fatal Arrow at Old Man Yasuo in thehead.
except she doesnt destroy aatrox, she doesnt kill tryndamere, and its even debatable if she claims yasuo.
Amazing how many people who know League miss that.
Fun fact: the sword has a pulse is because the guy is the sword, and the body is of those who are foolish enough to touch the sword then get possessed and taken over by the sword.
The "I thought I was creative but THIS SWORD HAS A PULSE!" section got me
Your energy and enthusiasm makes me feel like I'm watching these for the first time.
Loved the creative analysis here! Lots of details are just taken for granted.
Very quick summery of the "Still Here" cinematic:
1st fight - Takes place in the past, depicts the winged twin sisters Kayle and Morgana defending Demacia from an invasion led by Aatrox (a corrupted god-warrior known as a Darkin).
Some stuff you can read into that are very related to this cinematic:
- Darkin (what Aatrox is, will explain why his sword has a pulse)
- The relationship between Kayle and Morgana (will involve Aatrox)
- The relationship between Tryndamere and Ashe (will involve Aatrox)
- Kindred
Another content creator known as "Necrit" also makes videos explaining all of the lore, and what's going on in cinematics like these. He's a good source for learning about League's universe, and his videos aren't too long (so they won't be like a 20 part Warhammer series, just quick explanations of lore).
Gotta get this comment to the top.
I am doing my part 👍
The crazy part about the pulse on his sword at 12:00 is that it isnt just visual. He (Aatrox) is basically something like a demon who IS the sword. And through someone carrying that sword he possesses them so that he has a host to actually achieve whatever he is up to. So yeah the creativity in Leagues lore often surprises me as well.
It's fascinating how some of the best cinematics come out -of- for games that don't actually contain any stories in the gameplay.
You should watch the Helldivers 2 intro cinematic. It tells you pretty much everything you need to know about the game's setting and if you're curious about the gameplay aspects, the launch trailer as well as the "Galactic War" trailer should cover that.
Glad you're back. This was a delight.
The lore in Still here is crazy you need to watch it

something that people never talk about the first riot video is the expression on the character faces and how there is not one line but they say all you need.
wow i haven't seen any of ur videos for so long Hannah! among hundreds of subbed channels... algorithm, right? I'm so glad to see you again, nice reaction as always! time to click to bell i guess haha
When you understand the Lore behind Kindred and the rest, then this video is so much more powerful. Goosebumps everytime.
About the pulsating sword, aatrox (the red guy) is a darkin, a living weapon possessing a human host, so that is literally his heart pulsating

Everyone - 'YES!'
After a crazy adventure in youtube's algorithm, i finally get videos of this channel recommended again. It's been a while!
5. 16:20 That's his wife
6. Don't play League of Legends, it's highly competitive, with a toxic community, but also addicting. Bad batch
Lore video is probably worth checking out. Still Here is one of if not my absolute favorite cinematic because ive gone back a few times and noticed new things each time and its such a feel good feeling lol
Yes please watch the lore explained video!!
The second story of the Video is so good. You can actually see him wrapping his left arm in wind, to deflect attacks, as well as wrapping his sword in wind, as to not kill them, but just knock them out and give them a beating.
oh nice, i've had your books on my to read list for a while (waiting for my library to pick them up mostly) and didn't realize you've got a youtube channel :D I think it was Daniel Green's channel where I heard about them.
they did rengar dirty at they end, such an epic entrance ....just got slapped 😂
I am not sure if you haven't watched it already or are still planing to do, but the explanation for the "Still here" Cinematic is awesome, like so many people already said. I think you would like it ! :)
The heroic save with the shield only to fail is a good subversion of expectations. Would make for a good unexpected death for a character.
Welcome back Hannah !
A lot of the things the characters do in the cinematic are easily recognizable as their abilities from the game. Things like Ahri's orb, Darius's big leaping chop, Leona's sun beam, Nautilus's shockwave, Graves's smoke bomb, Rengar going invisible, I could go on.
The clapping at the end was everything. It's an understandable reaction. We all felt the same way 😂
the third guy in "Still here" is Tryndamere, in his scene, he's fending off the twin essence of Death, it's his ultimate skill in which he won't die within 5 seconds. Also, the person who came to his aid was Ashe, his wife.
nah the coolest part is kayle side-eyeing TF outta her sister for using magic and disregarding her sword lmao
I’m not going to lie, that moment at the end of the Still Here cinematic when Tryndamere’s eyes soften and change back to blue makes me tear up every time
Ohhh I have been waiting for this one!
Each character is a champ in game and they have their own story lore and abilities.
Still Here is one of the best cinematics to date easily
For those who need context: ( "Kindred" is the combination of lamb and wolf. They are one creature. They are not angel of death.. They are exactly death's form)
-This whole cinematic is about Kindred. They are the aspect of death. If you accept death, Lamb (the pale one) gives you a swift release with her arrow. If you avoid it, Wolf (the dark one) will hunt you down and make it more painful
-The first scene is in the past somewhere around Damacia. Where the two patron sisters fight Aatrox the darkin. Darkin are akin to demon, they possess an host. In the current lore the sisters do not talk anymore because of their vastly different view on justice. Kindred is always present for a death. So when Kayle (the blonde one) burns it all down. Killing the host of Aatrox, the shape can be seen in the flame
-The second is a possible future where Noxus successfully invaded Ionia.
Welcome back to the league side of youtube, we have missed you
Just a fan fact about still here:
The guy in the last part (tryndamere) is fighting a character who is the representation of death within the game's story (Kindred).
AND ANOTHER FACT:
They both have names referencing the riot founder and his wife. His nickname on lol was Tryndamere and his wife's name is Ashley.
Yesssss. Do the Necrit video!! Consume the lore!!
Oh you have no idea how much story and history that pulsing sword holds.
I love your league videos! There are so many great lore-related videos that you might love
5:35 - answer, some and it doesn't have effects as such, at least not at THAT scale
some examples from movie:
- Zyra (that ivy character) can send plants to trap you but it's like you can do spells and stuff and doesn't look spectacular like here
- Darius's dunk (this dude with axe) on the Leona (that "shield" girl) is typical for him, special move, and it looks somehow like this
- Leona doesn't have such shield, BUT she have protective jump to ally, increasing armor, no visuals at all
- Also about the end of movie - yes, Leona have such skill of "snow beam" attack, to stun people, not that spectacular, but even more powerful
About 12:10... it's idea because "living sword" is... in the simplest terms, it is a parasite (a separate race of Darkins, once great warriors, nowadays they have to look for strong bodies to possess) that lives its life and possesses a person, making them an incredibly capable beast... there are characters who have fully surrendered to them, there are characters who fight, cooperate, are in synergy, generally have their consciousness and it is Aatrox (this character) who is fully taken over by this parasite.
I was there in 2022 lol seeing this recommended put a smile on my face
I think you should watch the lore explained video. This cinematic in particular is filled to the brim with interesting lore.
We love u to see your reaction for the lore of league of legends. The community might not good but the Lore. THE LORE IS SOOOOO GOOD!
In the past two years or so since I started watching you , I have found myself saying "be friends instead"
Also Alice return to madness is my favourite game
Kindred's story is beautiful, you should look up her teaser and her story in general, the still here cinematic would make way more sense as well because she appears at the end of each act of the cinematic as well.
Finally having you uploading frequently is a dime 🔥🔥💯💯
"pulsating sword" a race of sentient weapons that transform and take control over the people who wield them.
The sword has a pulse because the guy is the sword.
Also, not the "theyre friends" shout when his wife saves him :D
I think the lore explained would be cool so you can see how much actual work is put into it. And how much thought there is in it. Or even the sword/armor combination that you (surprisingly) saw so well. Definitely interested to see your vision, from a writer's perspective.
"The Lore of Still Here Cinematic Explained" YES PLEASE!!! 🙏
As much as I enjoy the franchises that I know, it is a different experience watching your videos that I don't. 🤣 Best of both worlds! I was right there with you on the ear fixation.
Yay! You're back...I know I'm late but welcome back.
The purple valkyrie and rooms thing was remarkably specific...
Last video of the big guy fighting against a wolf and a spirit, that was tryndamere fighting against death itself, they only dissapeared because his wife showed up and killed the danger around him, which made kindred and wolf go away.
"This came out a long long time ago"
...Man I feel old.
Necret’s explanation video is really good
11:52 All League of Legend cutscenes 100% respect the lore of the characters. to summarize = aatrox, is a darking (immortal), his soul was sealed in this sword. he takes this form again when a person releases him from their sword... this cutscene brings together 3 periods in the lore. present (tryndamere + ashe)... past (about 1000 years ago, aatrox + morgana + kayle).... future (old yasuo)
Definitely watch the lore video! Also the blond at the end is his Wife!
Def do the explained. The lore is my favourite part of the community as I never could get into MOBAS. Plus next arcane season is this year!!!!!
the Still here explained it's pretty interesting to understand a bit more about the lore behind the video overall, that guy really put a good effort to try to get as many details he can... so I think it's worth it :D
the other behind of scenes idk cuz i didin't watch ehehhe
if you're not familiar with the Lore, watching the lore explained will be helpful to learn about each character that appears in the film, their story telling is actually pretty good behind them all.
5:25
Although the video is CGI and not super representative of game flow, it does highlight many of the character's in-game abilities.
Amazing video as always!
I see Hannah's having some Valkyrie flashbacks!
you should definitely watch Necrit's video on the lore on this cinematic
