I'm surprised people are still using VCR's in 2021 but I'm glad they are so we can see your repair videos. It's amazing how much you know about these incredibly complex devices. (both mechanically and electronically complex).
@@groovejet33 i remember being sad when the last couple of blockbuster stores closed. DVD'S & blueray are fading fast too. Redbox is trying hang in there but their days are numbered too.
@@bradw6515 ha ha yeh, blockbusters, when you went to the store and walked down the isles of hundreds of films ,then rented your choice...lol...The stores slowly disappeared didn't they? The likes of Freddy Krueger...lol Charles Bronson...lol......good memories I was supprised when i rented Romper Stomper! A racist Aussie skin head movie.....The local Pakistani shop was ranting it🤣🤣 crazy...lol.....#bringbackthe90's
It pays to learn your craft well as you learn how to extrapolate problems in seemingly unrelated areas like the small spring ground and wear & debris on the magnet. Good Job, sound great!
Great to see another saved! And isn't it amazing how vcr technology changed over a 20 year period. I remember my first vcr, must have been back in 1980. It had the big old mechanical push buttons, and the thing weighed a ton! Pretty much every single inch of space was taken up inside the machine. Now compare it to the later ones - like this JVC, a massive difference. I always find it interesting to see how the tech advances over the years.
Great video, really enjoyed how you both explained and showed the results.a question, for the jvc hrs-9900u do you have a source for replacing the flat wire connector for the ace head and the 14 pin connector which goes to the front board which has the florescent display?
That’s my VCR! Thank you so so much!

So many things to learn about these units! very fascinating quality video. The HIFI playback sounded really good.

Great video. I've collected about 3,000VHS tapes over time and still watch and use them. They still work great.

Thanks for this
Great information here: in a device full of mechanical parts who would ever think that a spring has got an electronic function?

I do not have a source for that. I don't even have any scrap units to rob one from. Sorry.
