- My sister did not like the ASMR version of this video. I love my sister, so I added a soundtrack. Tell me in the comments, which do you prefer? As always have fun and rc everyday!
The Land Rover Defender, a classic all round performer, was fully capable of handling the extreme temperature and dense foliage of this New England forest. Did I mention it was 96 degrees? In the shade! This was the first rig I owned, and sadly not captured on video until now. Traxxas has the crappiest radios when it comes to one hand driving and video shooting. Frustrating to say the least. But thanks to the thumb-steer knob, from @MarkSantaMaria, I was finally able to get some good ride along footage. I'll admit, it didn't last very long. Following a rig, while climbing through the woods to summit a rock, takes a lot of effort. And, in the heat of the day, I resorted to a series of clips from the tripod. I hope you enjoy the result.

I like a good mix of low music and being able to hear the truck. I think you did a great job on the audio mix.
Thanks! Not going to take all the credit though. The leaves were very dry and loud, due to the extreme heat. The low music was because I used a stock iMovie soundtrack, and could not figure out how to adjust the volume level. So it was a lucky little accident. The ASMR video version happened because I forgot to add the soundtrack. I'm still learning... Lol
Sisters are influential! I have 4! Since you asked.... I think the smaller scale vehicles have a tiny footprint so the mic would have to be really close to the rig for ground and forest bed crunching effect and super quiet background, just my observation trying to film with my Samsung phone. I think music sets the tone and intrigue along with ground effects! You're definitely on your way!
Thanks for sharing! I like trail runs to have music, and technical crawling/climbing I can go either way. Music tends to help meter the time for longer videos. Still working it out.
